I am a boy who loves baroque music, especially the works of Johann SebastianBach. At my age, loving classical music is seen as an exceptional taste, but Idon't agree with this. For me, age is irrelevant when it comes to music. Themost important thing about listening to classical music is to have a heart ofgodliness.
Bach is considered now to be one of the greatest musicians ever. Why is that?I feel it is because of his devotion towards god. Bach had devoted his wholelife to revealing the glory of the lord by music. Composing, for Bach, was a wayto connect the divine world and the mortal world. Similarly, I have devoted mymusical taste and life towards listening to Bach's music. In other words, theway I view Bach is how Bach viewed god. With this same kind of piety, I am ableto connect with Bach on an emotional level, which allows me to overcome thedifficulties and frustrations I face in life. I consider myself to be verysimilar to Bach because we are both persistent in setting and achievinggoals.
The spirit of Bach's music inspires me and helps me to face my life with anew determination to fulfill my goals. It is evident that Bach's music has andwill continue to shape my life in years to come.

I am writing to express my view on the movie and music piracy. Last year, the Hong Kong Government convicted a person of infringing copyright successfully, who uploaded copyrighted movies to his server and allowed other users to download them. For this incident, I am highly disappointed of the Internet user because they infringed the effort that the copyright owner paid. It is morally wrong to upload or download the piracy music and videos illegally. In addition, this phenomenon means the Hong Kong's intellectual property is being exploited. If this phenomenon continues, it is believed that Hong Kong will not have good music or video anymore.
According to a research from some Universities in Hong Kong, it was found that the different age groups had different reasons of the download or upload the piracy music or videos. The research is divided into two age groups to carry out, a group of teenagers and a group of adults. The research found the reason of most teenagers download or upload the piracy music and videos is that they lack of money and resources. On account of their process of studying, they undoubtedly lack of money and resources to purchase the expensive original CDs or movies. Therefore, the only way they can enjoy the music or videos is to download them from the internet. And for the adults group, the reason is convenient. Nowadays, downloading materials from the internet is very convenient. In addition to the huge resources from the internet, the download time is just for a moment. Therefore, these advantages attracted them to download the piracy music or videos from the internet. They would not go to the store for the original CDs or movies.
In this changing society, many citizens are being turned into criminals sim*** because of the illegal uploading or downloading. As a consequence, the regulations need to be tightening up. And the Government needs to strengthen the law enforcement to crack down on this kind of Internet crimes. For example, formulate new laws to limit the illegal uploading or downloading behavior. Also, the education is significant. No matter how strict the regulation is, if the students are lack of this kind of knowledge, it will surely become a vicious cycle. The criminals will continuously appear in the coming future.
To summaries, if the Government still doesn’t face to this problem, the intellectual property will be disappeared in Hong Kong. All creativity companies will be closed or moved to other countries because of the illegal downloading or uploading. So, I earnestly request the Hong Kong Government to solve this problem immediately.

My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qingdao Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. /chuzhong/chusan/ 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao.
Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qingdao, his family had to leave.
On his last day in Qingdao, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error. In 20xx, he visited Qingdao and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qingdao, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was dee*** touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour.

1）开始时对听众的称呼语最常用的是Ladies and gentlemen，也可根据不同情况，选用Fellow students，Distinguished guests，Mr Chairman，Honorable Judges（评委）等等。
2）提出论题由于演讲的时间限制，必须开门见山，提出论题。提出论题的方法有各种各样，但最生动，最能引起注意的是用举例法。比如：你要呼吁大家关心贫穷地区的孩子，你可以用亲眼看到的或者收集到的那些贫穷孩子多么需要帮助的实例开始。另外，用具体的统计数据也是一个有效的引出论题的方法，比如：你要谈遵守交通规则的话题，你可以从举一系列有关车辆、车祸等的数据开始。
3）论证对提出的论题，不可主观地妄下结论，而要进行客观的论证。这是演讲中最需要下功夫的部分。关键是要把道理讲清楚。常见的论证方法有举例法、因果法、对比法等等，可参见英语议论文的有关章节。
4）结论结论要简明扼要（以给听众留下深刻印象。

The first fall of snow is not only an event but it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up to find yourself in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?
The very stealth, the eerie quietness, of the thing makes it more magical. 上午好！
作为一名高一学生的家长，想必您时常为孩子的学业问题操心，非常感谢您的支持！
作为英语老师，我也盼望着与您携手，与您交流，共同探讨孩子成才的问题。英语学不好，在今后的社会中就难以立足。我想努力，这就需要您的支持和合作。高中的英语教材（5a）与大学英语教材是配套的，这就意味着：现在的英语成绩不仅直接影响孩子的期末考试与升学，还影响着孩子将来的英语学*！
半年的共同学*，使我半喜半忧，喜的是，我们高一三班的学生都很聪明，接受能力强，学*起来显得很轻松，让我觉得忧虑的是：部分孩子对英语不太重视。（包括与个别家长的交流中，发现有家长也未重视）可能这里也包含许多家长觉得英语不太好辅导，你说语文数学吧，还懂点，这英语吧，还真是不好不懂装懂，所以导致相当一部分的孩子英语基础打得很不牢，个别的孩子甚至拼读、书写、背诵等学*英语的好*惯还没有很好的养成，需要从头开始。但是，孩子们上课时的专注同时也让我感到欣喜。认真的孩子一定能把英语学好！

新教材与初中的教材跨度很大，要求也上了几个台阶，对孩子们具有比较大的难度。细心的家长可能就会发现，高中的课本和初中的课本相比，无论是从词汇量，语法还是课文篇幅的长短都有了明显的区别，初中的内容相当简单，它简直就是三年级知识的巩固，稍微有所延伸，而高一一下子就接触并需要掌握两种时态。所以，有些同学很不能适应，初中学得轻松，还考好成绩，怎么到了高一不行了，这样的现象很普遍，说到底，还是好的*惯没有养成，不够勤奋。在这里，我要点名表扬几位学生，她们学*态度端正，上课认真，书写工整，正因为如此，无论什么考试都能取得很好的'成绩。另外我还要提几个同学，他们的潜力很大，但因为还不够认真刻苦，所以没有发挥出自己最好的水*，希望家长能够配合老师，把孩子的成绩抓上去。我坚信：如果您的孩子在您的支持和我的指导下能够及时完成我布置的任务，那么一定能学好。要教导您的孩子一开始就要有吃苦耐劳的精神。坚持严谨的学*作风，成绩马上就会见效。
目前的形势决定了英语学科的重要性，请各位家长务必重视英语这一学科，你们思想上重视了，无形中也给孩子以熏陶，重视与不重视肯定是完全不同的，在英语课堂上，大部分学生都能很活跃的回答老师提出的问题，积极跟着老师拼读单词，朗读课文。其实这也制造了一种假象，学生认为自己常常被老师提问，认为自己能够回答老师的问题，于是认为自己的英语学得很不错，自我感觉特别好。于是下课后在英语上花的时间就少了。其实要学好英语，课上占40%，其余的60%还需要学生在课后不断的巩固，加深记忆。在课上老师更多的是教授新知识，当然课上也会有少量的时间巩固新学的知识。但是这些时间是公共的时间，而不是每个学生私有的时间，所以不可能照顾到每个学生，不可能让所有学生都达到相同的程度。况且每个学生对新知识得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能当堂就已经有很深的印象，很难忘记，但这肯定是很少的。大部分学生都只能是初步接触了新知识，要真正接受新知识还要学生在课后多下功夫，不然肯定会和别的同学拉下差距。
那么在课后学生到底该怎么做才能把其余的60%补回来呢？英语毕竟不是我们自己的语言，大多数学生除了英语课其余时间根本就不会想到要说英语，所以，在课后一定要主动抽时间为自己补*英语。学好英语，不外乎就是在听，说，读，写这些方面下功夫。
首先说一下听，每个学生都有和书相配套的磁带，可是请各位家长检查一下自己的子女的英语磁带，有多少学生的磁带还是和刚发的时候一样的，根本就没有听过。不要说另外买什么英语听力磁带或者英语学*的碟片了，连自己手头的磁带都不去听，光靠上课听一点点的磁带，学生的听力根本就不能有什么发展。不会听就不能说，而说白了，学了英语就是要说，那不是白学了么？听录音机跟读，目的应该是两种，一种同学是上课没有完全消化，听录音是补充学*的过程，另外一种是提高自己的听力和口语表达能力，要学生尽力地去模仿录音机里的发音，从而使自己的听力和口语都提高一个层次。
接下来是说，英语是一门语言，学了就是要说，要和别人交流。我们学的英语不应该是哑巴英语，要让每个学生学会勇敢地说出来。在课上我会用各种方法来刺激学生，激发他们说英语的积极性，大多数学生也确实做得很好。可是班级里人多，对每个人来说，说的机会就少。所以下课也要说；放学回家也要说。在学校，我鼓励学生把所学的英语对话运用到生活中去，这样有更真实的情景，更能让学生有发挥的余地。在家里，希望家长也能鼓励学生说英语，也许你会说你自己也听不懂，请不要这样想，其实学生需要是你的鼓励，你听了他们说的只要简单表扬一句，他们就会很满足了。有时候你们也可以不懂装懂，或者还可以让学生反过来教你，他们会觉得很自豪，因为自己所学得派上了用场。

I want to live in a world where we value genuine achievement for disabled people, and I want to live in a world where a kid in year 11 in a Melbourne high school is not one bit surprised that his new teacher is a wheelchair user.

I remembered that when I come here first time,there is a party in the house of my home stay.During the time,they played jokes and they laughed all the time,do you know how embarrassed that is,everyone laughed except you.So I pretend to understand the joke in another party,I saw everyone laugh and I laugh too in 5 seconds later.My home stay was surprised about that and asked me “do you understand?”， and I answered “no”， “So why do you laugh?” ”because I do not want to be embarrassed”!
But as I receive this award today,I want to thank to them,because they encourage me to be involved with the commi* rather than staying in at home,play com*r and speak Chinese.
When I came to Wantirna College first time,I met liz collar who is international student coordinator.She is very kind to me,and she encourage me join SRC,I went to SRC meetings regularly all the time,but I didn’t even know what SRC was! That is the reason why I told her,I don’t want to go to SRC anymore.But she said “why not? You should go and you have to go!”I asked” why?” she said:” because I said so!”
But as ii receive this award today,I want to thank her.She helps me a lot.
Truth be told,I am not the best student in Wantirna College,but I appreciate this award and I will try my best in future.

I am very glad to make a speech here in this class ！ This time ， I＇d like to talk something about English . My topic is I Love English.
As everyone knows， English is very important today.It has been use everywhere in the world . It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well， we will have more chance to succeed . Because more and more people have taken notice of it， the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.
But for myself ， I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness ， but also because of my love for it . When I learn English， I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.
When I was seven ， I went to Chuxiong Experimental Primary school . At here ， I played games and sang English songs with othe friends . Then I discovered the beauty of the language ， and began my colorful dream in the English world.
Everyday ， I read English following the tapes . Sometimes ， I watch English cartoons.
I hope I can travel around the world someday.
If you want to be loved， you should learn to love and be lovable. So I believe as I love English everyday ， it will love me too .
I am sure my dream will be true ！

Today I’m glad that I’m standing here talking to you all. As the title given, I am going to talk you about a way of treating people and things in life. My speech here basically includes 2 parts, in the former of which I‘ll describe you the present occasion we teenagers are in., as well as the reason behind. Then it’s about the several opinions of mine toward the case above.
Undoubtedly, every one of us has stepped into adolescence, a period of time where the most
exciting and mysterious changes take place. Boys, apparently become more ambitious. Girls, in some ways, start to dream and become more sensitive about the world. All in all, as if our emotions become much stronger, somehow we’re always trapped in circles and struggling against something that can’t be changed anyway. We complain about how fragile our friendship is, how little people know about us, how unfair the life is,etc. It seems that every time we fail, we blame it to the tough conditions we’re in, while never notice a problem inside ourselves, that we’re never satisfied.
Let’s just imagine that there was an old lady. What she sees was her neighbors’ being mean again while not how kind they were when they took care of her sick body. What she saw was her dog’s annoying barking while not how much loyalty it had shown.What she saw was always so depressing that it finally turned her into an unpleasant person. Think about how our life would be if we stand in her shoe.
Why don’t we focus our attention on how much we’ve already got in stead? You know it’s really simple to do as there’s a tremendous amount of examples. Like the popular Jetpack Joy Ride on your Iphone, you can enjoy it whenever you like, whereas in some poor area people don’t even know such thing as Iphone.
Actually we should be thankful about the richness we’ve got, thankful that with each sunrise taking place we don’t need to starve to call it a day, thankful that the people we love are still in health, that we still got much to hold on. As a saying on website,” The world is tough, but I’m tougher.” What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
Every day is a gift from life, all we need is to accept it, cherish the lessons life has taught us, so as to achieve our goal with high spirit. In this way, someday when we leave the world, we leave no regrets.

(examples).but why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture. there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand,the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend,chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.
with the further development of the whole world, the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the earth.the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

my favourite animal is tortoise. tortoise walk not fast. but i like the tortoise. why? because, tortoise is a cute animal. it has a short tail and a four short foot. it has a little head and a hard shell. there are forty-five little and cute tortoises in my home. they like to play in the water. when they afraid of some thing. they will run fast. they like to eat fish. i often buy some small fish for them to eat. they can catch the fish fast. first, they fake(假) sleep. when the fish swim near their mouth. they catch the fish fast and bit the fish's head. so, the fish die. they can eat the fish. in winter. they like to sleep in the sand. when they sleep, they don’t eat any food.because they will hibernation. but, when they are thirsty. they come out of the sand. so, we must give water to them to drink.

Chinese dream was put forward by chairman xi last year in order to direct Chinese to a clear future.For the whole nation, it means increasing the level of living.For every single Chinese , it means realizing the value of lifeThe realization of the whole nation’s dream can not be separated from everybody’s own dream. Only by everyone’s efforts can we make the nationy’s dream come true.
For our young people, we are supposed to have our own dream. What is dream? The famous Chinese economist LangXianPing has ever said that:”Please do not expect too munch about Chinese students, because they don’t have dream. They only want to find a common job to earn money for a house or a car. They only have a target、purpose、or goal. They don’t have dream. Purpose is not dream.
Dream is developed by your warm heart instead of cheating your eyes in the excuse of earning money! A dream is a clear spiritual lighthouse that gives out direction when you do not know what to expect in the days ahead and offers comfort and support when you become doubtful of yourself.
