看着这本书，我不由自主地联想到奥运精神，联想到了刘翔在跑道上飞驰，联想到了姚明在篮球场上灌篮，联想到了我们的排球女将在排球场上坚持不懈地打球。这就是奥运精神。就说姚明这个例子吧！看着在篮球场上拼搏的他，你一定很羡慕吧！可是你却不知道成功是靠自己的汗水换来的，你并不知晓这成功的背后又包含着多少酸甜苦辣，绰号“小巨人”的他也有过一次次的失败经历，但是他不气馁，以乐观积极的态度面对每一次的失败， “努力不一定成功，放弃却一定失败！”这是姚明的座右铭。
是呀！生命在于运动，而运动更要依靠自己的努力，面对挫折，不软弱，不放弃。像钢铁一样坚强，什么都不惧怕。只有不断地奋斗。不断地坚持才能够取得胜利之果！
每个人的一生中会有很多挫折，有些人因为遇到挫折便会放弃，而有些人会因为挫折变得更加努力。而那次挫折，让我变得更加发奋。
那一年，我看到电视里的舞者跳舞跳得非常美，我便对跳舞有了强烈的兴趣。我来到楼下对正在洗衣服的妈妈说：“妈妈，我想去学跳舞。”妈妈说：“你没有舞蹈细胞，你确定要学吗?”我毫不犹豫地回答她“是”。但妈妈说她只有一个要求：那就是：“你必须坚持到最后，不能半途而废。”我郑重地点点头。
于是，妈妈把我送到了舞蹈兴趣班。我看着那些女孩子穿着白色的舞裙，心想：“我也要快点学会，像她们一样翩翩起舞。”
但这一切和我想象的并不一样。每当开始跳舞，我总是比同龄的女孩子慢了很多节拍，我每次都只好停下来看着她们跳。舞蹈班下课之后，妈妈来接我回家，我向她抱怨：“我比别的女孩子慢了很多节拍，我不想再跳舞了。”妈妈语重心长地对我说：“难道你忘记当时答应我的事情了吗?你说过你不会半途而废的。”我低下头，不说话，感到非常惭愧。

“不经历风雨，怎见得彩虹？”，是的，我要感谢生活磨砺，它只能使我愈挫愈勇。我明白，也许在人生的道路上，前面还有很多或者更大的考验等着我，于是，我振奋精神，充满必胜的信心，努力前行。
最*有一则报道说：有一位学生，他小学只读了二年级和六年级，学*一直很好。可他上了高中居然还要他妈妈喂饭！联想到一些为了孩子“有信心”而不让他学生活技能的父母，便为他们感到担心。

1905年，清**决定兴建我国第一条铁路京张铁路（北京至张家口）。英俄都想插手，由于中国人民的强烈反对，他们的企图没能得逞。英俄使臣以威胁的口吻说：“如果京张铁路由中国工程师自己建造，那么与英俄两国无关。”他们原以为这么一来，中国就无法建造这条铁路了。在这关键时刻，詹天佑毫不犹豫地接下了这个艰巨的任务，全权负责京张铁路的修筑。消息传来，一些帝国主义分子及英国报刊挖苦说：“中国能够修筑这条铁路的工程师还在娘胎里没出世呢！中国人想不靠外国人自己修铁路，就算不是梦想，至少也得五十年。”他们甚至攻击詹天佑担任总办兼总工程师是“狂妄自大”、“不自量力”。詹天佑顶着压力，坚持不任用一个外国工程师，并表示：“中国地大物博，而于一路之工必须借重外人，我以为耻！”“中国已经醒过来了，中国人要用自己的工程师和自己的钱来建筑铁路。”詹天佑对全线工程曾提出“花钱少，质量好，完工快”三项要求。京张铁路经过工人们几处奋斗，终于在1909年9月全线通车。原计划六年完成，结果只用了四年就提前完工，工程费用只及外国人估价的五分之一。一些欧美工程师乘车参观后啧啧称道，赞誉詹天佑了不起。但詹天佑却谦虚地说：“这是京张铁路一万多员工的力量，不是我个人的功劳，光荣是应该属于大家的。”
