今天是农历五月初五，也是一年一度的端午节。

端午节这天，除了去赶集，还有一种迷信的说法，这一天上山去采的草药用了非常好。去年的端午节，奶奶让我陪她去，虽然我不迷信，但出于好奇也跟着去了。到山上后，那里的景色非常美丽壮观，绿油油的树木，宽阔的草地，让人心旷神怡，真想高歌一曲。草丛中，不时显现老人们采药的身影。
好不容易才熬过了找草药的时光，端午节又赶到了末端，但并不冷清，反而很热闹，小伙伴们捧着家里包的粽子，比较谁家的好吃，吵吵嚷嚷的声音打破了傍晚的寂静。
端午节真是一个有趣的节日，特别是我们家乡的*俗。希望今年的端午节快点儿到来，我们都有点儿迫不及待了
大家都知道，端午节是因为古代楚国被灭掉后，楚国大诗人屈原因为国家被灭，在该日抱石跳泪罗江自尽。统治者为树立忠君爱国标志，将端午节作为纪念屈原的节日，所以才会有端午节，端午节通常有插艾叶，赛龙舟，佩香囊，吃粽子的*俗。我在每个端午节，都会插艾叶，佩香囊，吃粽子，但我唯独没有看过赛龙舟，在这个端午节，我去看了赛龙舟。
到了那儿，首先映入眼帘的是龙舟招景的河面，首先听到的是锣鼓喧天的锣鼓声，其次闻到的是得飘十里的龙船饼的味道，真是让人心清气爽啊！一条条来回游动的龙船仿佛就是天上的天龙在现，现江就是一条天上的银河分支，让我们看的人如入天上的事银河上，龙船就是一条条飞龙，令人应接不暇。我还发现了划龙船的人没有一个是穿着鞋子的，问当地的人才知道，穿鞋子划龙舟，是一种不尊重屈原，不尊重龙船和端午节的表现。据我了解，赛龙舟前一般都要举行隆重的祭祀仪式。如在泪罗江畔，年年龙舟竞渡前，都要先祭屈子庙。来自四面八方的人，抬着龙头，在屈原像下，叩拜，吊唁，以粽子，包子，酒水等祭尊。然后由主祭人将一条红绸系到“头龙”的头上，由“头桡”高尔夫龙头扛到江边洗澡，洗完后将龙头安于船首，这才开始赛龙舟名日“下水”。上岸送神，称作“拨龙头”。在赛龙舟时，有一条黑色的“小龙”划得特别快，仿佛是真龙在现，它一出来，一下子就把其它几条“龙”远远地甩在了后面，没有一条“龙”的速度能比它快！
快乐又美好的一个上午不知不觉的过去了，但我想我不会忘记这次端午节，因为这次端午节我去看了人生中第一次划龙舟。
小时候，我最喜欢过端午节。因为这个节日是最热闹的，最让我们小孩兴奋的，有吃又有玩。
妈妈指导我和妹妹包粽子，我笨手笨脚的，老是把粽子包得漏了馅儿……我包不好粽子，可我爱吃粽子，特别是蜜枣花生馅儿的粽子，在阳光下每一粒糯米都会闪着光泽，可香甜了！
吃完粽子，戴着香包我就出了门，往敖江边跑去。一年一度的龙舟赛要开锣了！
敖江边早也是人山人海，周围的小商铺都开着，我一定会买一条香糯的玉米，这玉米棒现在可看不到了，玉米粒儿是深红色的，像一颗颗红玛瑙，而且是冒着热气的红玛瑙，我都舍不得吃！
面对着热闹的江边，我很苦恼，大人们早已挤在堤岸边，把堤坝挤得密不透风。看不到龙舟怎么办啊？还好，我趁大人不注意，刷的一下挤进去了！
正午12点整，比赛就快要开始了，各个龙舟运动员摩拳又擦掌，心情激动得不得了。
“砰！”发令枪响了，每一条船都一下就冲出去，在堤坝上加油的人像是叫破喉咙也没有关系。
我的视力很好，看得见运动员们的青筋若隐若现，船上的运动员也非常团结，动作一致，每个船员都竭尽全力划着桨。在船中打鼓的人非常努力地敲着鼓，人们的心情随着鼓声也变得越来越激动！
我们东南街代表队龙舟队员的脸像西红柿一样红了，不用多久就已经把别的村、街道的龙舟甩得远远的，一马当先！他们并没有骄傲，过了一会儿，江南村代表队的龙舟也赶上来了，这两支船队各不相让，让我看到了两条“龙”在打架的场面，究竟鹿死谁手呢？观看的人的心都快要跳出来了。
激动人心的时候到了，最终是我们东南街代表队获得了冠军，队员们开心地又蹦又跳，还激动地拥抱在了一起！我也为我们我们街道感到无比骄傲，希望自己长大了也能代表街道为荣誉而战！
可是，当我长大的时候，已经离开了家乡，很少回去过节了。关于端午节的回忆，只能在梦中重逢……

上午九点，龙舟大赛正式开始！随着裁判的一声令下，鼓声震耳欲聋，所有的龙舟选手一齐用力划桨，顿时，水花四溅，喊声此起彼伏，岸上的人也十分激动，纷纷大声吼道：“加油！加油！”没过多久，一支龙舟队就以到达终点，岸上的人欢呼着，划龙舟的选手也用力拍打着水面，来表达自己的激动之情。来了！来了！我期盼的江苏队终于来了！他们划的是1000米的长度。裁判哨声一响，江苏队就像一支利箭冲向终点，水面像刚刚被刀划了一下，伤口难以愈合。几十秒后，江苏队就大幅度领先其他选手，我激动得呐喊着，嗓子早已变得沙哑。最后，江苏队一举夺魁，夺下了冠军，我为他们引以为豪！
端午，早已不是一种节日，一种*俗，其实啊，端午的这种精神早已深入我的心中。就像那热气腾腾刚出来的粽子一样，那种扑鼻的香气，早早便沁入心田，萦绕在口耳之间，代代相承了。

this festival dates back to about 2,000 years ago with a number of legends explaining its origin. the best-known story centers on a great patriotic poet named qu yuan.
the customs vary a lot in different areas of the country, but most of the families would hang the picture of zhong kui (a ghost that can exorcise), calamus and moxa in their houses. people have dragon boat races, eat zong zi (dumpling made of glutinous rice wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves) and carry a spice bag around with them.

Duanwu Festival is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Double Fifth.It has since been celebrated, in various ways, in other parts of East Asia as well. In the West, it's commonly known as Dragon Boat Festival.
The exact origins of Duan Wu are unclear, but one traditional view holds that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan of the Warring States Period. He committed *** by drowning himself in a river because he was disgusted by the corruption of the Chu government. The local people, knowing him to be a good man, decided to throw food into the river to feed the fish so they would not eat Qu's body. They also sat on long, narrow paddle boats called dragon boats, and tried to scare the fish away by the thundering sound of drums aboard the boat and the fierce looking carved dragon head on the boat's prow(船头).
In the early years of the Chinese Republic, Duan Wu was also celebrated as "Poets' Day," due to Qu Yuan's status as China's first poet of personal renown(名声名望).
Today, people eat bamboo-wrapped steamed glutinous(粘的) rice dumplings called the food originally intended to feed the fish and race dragon boats in memory of Qu's dramatic death.
A Chinese holiday is gaining worldwide popularity
Some holidays are so much fun that they catch on outside of their culture. The most obvious example is probably Christmas, which is celebrated around the world by people who aren't even Christian. Similarly, in recent years, the Dragon Boat Festival has moved beyond China to become an international holiday celebrated by people who may know little about the holiday's origins.
The Dragon Boat Festival is one of three major Chinese holidays, along with the Spring and Moon Festivals. Of the three, it is possibly the oldest, dating back to the Warring States Period in 227 B.C. The festival commemorates Qu Yuan, a minister in the service of the Chu Emperor. Despairing over corruption at court, Qu threw himself into a river. Townspeople jumped into their boats and tried in vain to save him. Then, hoping to distract hungry fish from his body, the people scattered rice on the water.
Over the years, the story of Qu's demise transformed into the traditions of racing dragon boats and eating zongzi – a kind of rice wrapped in bamboo leaves. The races have certainly captured the imagination of people from all over the world. Every spring there are nearly 60 dragon boat races held outside of China in cities from Vancouver to Sydney, from Gda��sk, Poland to Cape Town, South Africa. Canada alone has nearly 50 dragon boat teams and Germany has nearly 30.
So what is it about the Dragon Boat Festival that appeals to foreigners? “It's an unusual sport,” says one racer from Germany. “It's not like everybody's doing it. That's one of the reasons that there's such great team spirit in a dragon boat team – everybody feels like we're doing something special.” And what about the zongzi? “Ehhh, they're not bad, I guess,” he says. “Something of an acquired taste. I just haven't really acquired it yet.”
