明天是“六一”国际儿童节。55年前，国际民主妇女联合会为保障全世界儿童的生存权力、保健权力和受教育的权力，于1949年11月在莫斯科召开的一次大会上决定每年六月一日为国际儿童节。1949年12月23日，* 也规定六月一日为儿童节。于是，全世界的儿童就拥有了一个属于自己的节日——“六一”国际儿童节。

i teach economics at unlv three times per week. last monday, at the beginning of class, i cheerfully asked my students how their weekend had been. one young man said that his weekend had not been so good. he had his wisdom teeth removed. the young man then proceeded to ask me why i always seemed to be so cheerful.

The tempo of modern civilization has been much quickened in the last twentyyears. when i was young, i used to be very naughty. life then was like a glaball ,shining with bright colours. i had once gone down to the river bank, catching a great many worms and was afterwards punished by mum. i had ever cut the pillow towel into pieces in order to make clothes for my dolls. similarly, i was then blamed seriously. once i even put the hot iron on the floor which immediately burnt a big hole on the carpet. although i had done so many annoying things, my childhood seemed to be rather colourful. however, i had never had a clear definition about myself. but then something happened. it had made a great difference to my life and made who i am now.
i had always been afraid of having the intravenous drop in hospital. the first time i was taken to have the drop, i cried for almost half an hour and finally gave off at father's severe scolding. watching the cold needle stabbing into my skin, i cried even more loudly. at that time, i never dared to take a glance at my hand and always needed my mother to stay with me at my side. even if mum had told me many times," honey, there’s nothing to be scared of. just close your eyes and sleep." i would still keep my eyes wide open, watching the liquid flow through the bottle and never slept.
nevertheless, things just happened in a casual way. when i caught a high fever again when young, mum had to send for the doctor home to treat me. i was so sick that i became quite drowsy and then slept. when i suddenly woke up in the afternoon, i found the liquid in the bottle had already flown over ,while mum and dad were not around. i yelled, but finally found it was of no use. so i jumped out of the bed and pulled up the tubule. in the nature of things, the blood came out and dropped along the way i went downstairs. things became different at the time i went down alone. i discovered that i could be independent. i was much stronger than i had thought. looking back on the girl who cried all day, i came to understand suddenly that the strong part of the inner myself had been existing all the time. seeing the anxious mum, i revealed a big smile to her. i could see that mum was trying to hold her tears back and scrubbed my blood on the hand. she didn't know that her little girl had stealthily grown up.

We often hear people say, “Never give up.” This can be encouraging wordsand words of determination. A person who believes in them will keep trying toreach his goal no matter how many times he fails. One reason is that if we give up too easily, we will rarely achieveanything. While witnessing the dramatic changes in the better-off society, peoplebegin to reconsider the question of "survival". "Survival" in the old sense doesnot bother us anymore. 65 years ago, James lived in Qingdao. Then he was only 5 years old. Heoften visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there,which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted oneto keep as a treasure.
He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at havingstolen it was there in the background all through his life. 通过一个多学期的观察，我发觉有些孩子在英语课堂上学得很好，老师教的一般都会读，但第二天的反馈却比较差。一年级学生的学*能力、接受新知识的能力比较强，但遗忘能力也十分强，如果当天晚上不进行复*的话，第二天往往会把前一天学*的内容忘记。所以为了让您的孩子英语学*有连续性，在课外，我希望家长能够多关心孩子的英语学*状况，并提以下几点建议：
1．帮助孩子养成听英语*惯。
⑴每天安排一个固定的时间（10分钟左右）督促孩子听英语。如每天固定在晚上7：00听英语，则每天一到这个时间就帮助孩子准备好，让孩子养成*惯。听英语时，能听一句跟着说一句，并对比自己的发音，尽量模仿，自己纠正。
⑵帮助孩子完成听说英语作业。因为我们是从口语开始训练，所以一年级的英语作业大多是听和说。让孩子看着英语单词卡片说一说，或边做动作边说等等。并建议家长让孩子看着英语书第一页的英语汇总表让孩子读一读上面的句子和单词。
2．帮助孩子养成用英语的*惯。
我们的`英语教学不从a b c字母开始，而从英语口语开始，一方面是遵从学*规律；另一方面是为了孩子应用的需要。我希望您能多问问
孩子“今天英语学到了什么”，孩子学到的儿歌，歌曲等可以鼓励他表演给别人看。有条件的还可以用学到的与孩子对话。总之，鼓励孩子把学到的在家里用起来。
3. 帮孩子搜集一些少儿英文歌曲，在家里多让孩子听一听。
