We Are The World ,We Are The Future
Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. To answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshneof the deep spring of life.
A poet said “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. “英语难，难于上青天”，“最令我们头疼的就是学英语”*常交谈中，我们常能听到许多类似的感慨。学英语真的很难吗?我认为：英语学*并非难事，关键在于要用心去学。首先，要舍得投入精力和时间，要有恒心。许多人学*英语时想寻求捷径，我认为这也未尝不可，但必须以坚实的基础为前提。付出总与收获成正比，持之以恒，英语水*就有了相应的'提高。其次，掌握一定的词汇量。如果你目前没有掌握一定的词汇量，那么，你一定要学会如何掌握词汇量的方法。英语学*中，单词的记忆是困扰许多人的一个难题。记单词的确不是一件容易的事情，但若方法得当，效果就会好得多。我认为，大家倘能真正做到以下三点，掌握的词汇量一定会不断增多：
1、调整情绪。有的人想学，但却“怕”字当头，这与科学的学*方法相悖。心理学家认为：“当一个人感到极度兴奋时，学*的效果就极佳。它可使我们的思维变得敏捷、活跃，注意力集中。”所以在记忆单词前应首先调整好自己的情绪，使自己拥有一种学*单词的热情和牢记它们的决心，努力使自己处于学*的最佳状态。
2、运用记忆法记单词。现在有许多记忆单词的方法，如词缀词根记忆法、同义词和近义词记忆法，分割联想记忆法，词源记忆法等。我运用最多的是结合记忆法和词缀词根记忆法。
3、巩固和强化。单词在初次学*后，应及时地复*、巩固，以免在短时间内遗忘。还有一些方法比如收听英语节目、看英文原版录像都是效果不错的方法。即经常有意识地用英语交流。英语考试中阅读理解题所占考分大，耗时多，但如果*时能做到多读，则有助于提高阅读能力。阅读要快读，以提高阅读速度，增加和扩大英语感性认识。
转眼间，我已上岗一个学期了。在这短短的几个月时光中，我深深的体会到了这份工作的纯真与美好。作为“孩子王”，与孩子在一起的氛围是任何现代装饰手段都无法营造。望着那一张张天真可爱的笑脸，一切的烦恼与忧愁刹那间消退，生活的诗画便在眼前飞扬，使心田灿烂，温馨甜美……我觉得小学教师是一个纯真和美好的职业。有人形容小学教师看起来永远都是那么的年轻和充满朝气。这种形容不无道理。当你面对孩子们那双清澈无比又充满童真的眼睛时，当你聆听着他们银铃般的笑声时，每个人都仿佛又重新回到了童年时光。这让我更叫喜欢这个职业，让我觉得这份职业如此纯真美好
可喜的是经过半年的学*、积累、探索，我在英语教学上日趋成熟，逐渐收放自如，总结出了一套自己的教学方法。现简单列出：
一、激发兴趣，维持激-情。
“兴趣是孩子们最好的老师。”使学生带着浓厚的兴趣去学*，将会使教学工作取得事半功倍的效果，这是我教学中最深刻的体会。激发小学生的学*兴趣并不难。小学生初学英语，对英语充满了好奇与向往，与中文迥然不同的语音语调使他们跃跃欲试，欧洲国家的风土人情使他们眼界大开，再加上课堂上，我使用了大量的彩图、实物、头饰、音乐等作为教学工具，设计了丰富多采的教学游戏，让学生在玩中学，在学中玩，身心愉悦地上英语课，在不知不觉中就掌握了知识，使英语成为他们最喜欢的科目。
但更重要的是将这一学*的激-情保持下去。学生到了四、五、六年级，英语课便比较没有新鲜感了，而且随着内容的加深，学生也渐感吃力。对高年级的学生，一方面我适当改变教法，设计出更新颖有效的游戏活动辅助学生理解、记忆，激发学*兴趣，另一方面，也在尝试新的激-情激发点。比如，在英语对话、竞赛、表演中让学生尽情、自由发挥，体验成功的喜悦与满足;在课外举行效仿欧美*俗的聚会等，让学生有机会在浓厚的英语氛围中学*英语，从而产生学英语、说英语的强烈愿望。
二、及时复*，反复操练。
俗语有云：“一日不唱口生，一日不练手生。”因此，在英语教学中我要求学生必须对所学内容倒背如流，脱口而出。因此，每一内容传授完毕后，我都要求学生及时背诵、记忆，确保每一学生在单词、句子的听、说、读、写过关。每天早上，学生必须将所学内容读至少一遍以上，随时保持学*英语的最佳状态。在每一堂英语课前，我都会用英语与学生自由交谈。通过反复的操练，学生对知识自然能掌握得牢，用得活了。
三、严抓书写，打牢基矗
学英语并非是一朝一夕的事，可谓“never too old to learn.”(活到老，学到老.)那么，基础的重要性便不言而喻了。初学时如果在书写上或是发音上有不良的*惯或错误，在以后将很难纠正。因此，在小学英语教学中，我在书写和发音上要求特别严格，哪怕是abc这样简单的字母。在书写上，我要求学生先书空，再在练*本上写，最后写到作业本上。乱涂乱画及不符合四线三格书写规则的一律重写至规范为止。“磨刀不误砍柴工”，做好了准备，打牢了基础，既使教学活动更顺利、更规范化，也为学生将来学*英语铺就一条*坦大道。
四、在英语教学中贯彻道德教育原则。
教师的职责，古人概括为“传道、授业、解惑”，把道德教育放到了首位。教书必先育人，英语科也不例外。在小学英语教材中，有许多礼貌用语，如：thank you! excuse me. sorry. after you.等;有教人拾金不昧的小故事;有发人深省的寓言;有宣扬团结互助的短文......我绝不放过这样的教育机会，除了句子、短文的阅读、理解教学外，更让学生去体会其中的精神。让学生在课堂模仿操练之余，也延伸到日常生活中去，成为个人的一种情操。如今，学生已将thank you! sorry. that’s all right.等挂在嘴边，文明有礼成了一种风气。
除了一般的道德教育外，我觉得英语还是最容易培养学生自信心的科目之一。刚开始学英语时，一部分人只会吃吃地笑，还有一部分人说得好像蚊子在哼哼叫。在老师的鼓励与诱导下，学生能够开口说，到大声说，不到半学期便能在大庭广众下卖弄自己的英语，这过程便是一个自信心的提升。我在课堂上极少批评打击学生，我更愿我的学生在我的good! wounderful!等肯定声中找到自我，从而信心百倍地去学下一句。
当然，在英语教坛上，我尚是一名新兵。在今后漫长的教学生涯中，我仍需要接受更严格的锻炼和挑战，不断学*，不断积累，为中国通往世界的语言桥梁添砖加瓦

在我很小还在呀呀学语的时侯，妈妈就开始引导我看事物图片，认英语单词。上一年级，妈妈为我购买了学英语丛书等资料，并陪我一起看单词，学句子。从三年级起学校开设英语课，老师也开始给我们教授英语，妈妈精挑细选地给我买了与教材配套的英语光碟。由于以前我对英语的痴迷，这时我学英语更如鱼得水，喜不自胜。上四年级，我的英语已经有了较好的基础，为了继续发展，我每晚都要读一遍英语课文和做一些英语资料，因为妈妈经常告诫我说反复练*，熟能生巧。现在，我已上五年级了，英语老师说我对英语有特异的敏感性，不但发音标准，而且语速流畅，对单词和句型的掌握熟练，运用自如。因此，每次质量检测时我的成绩都会在全年级名列前茅……可以说，上五年级的我，已经能用流利的英语进行滔滔不绝地演讲了。

大家好！
我是XX小学的XX老师，非常荣幸有机会来参加这次的演讲活动，这对我来说是一种鼓励，更是一次难得的学*机会，我演讲的题目叫《为了谁》，希望大家多多指教。
站在这个讲台，我心里有种说不出来的滋味，看着前面的各位评委老师，说实话，我真有点害怕，我感觉自己像一个罪犯，正在等待正义的审判。
是啊，我们每天的工作又何尝不是如此，几百个孩子，几百个家庭，无数的眼睛都在盯着我们，我们的工作不允许有任何的差错，因为我们是所谓的“人类灵魂的工程师”，多高的评价啊，想想也挺美的，而事实果真如此么？我只听到别人都叫我某某小学的小老师。我们之中只要出现一点点的失误，群众的叫骂就会不绝于耳，在过去的xxxx年，网上对老师是一片谴责，那只是千万人群中的个别现象，又有谁看到我们这些整日忙碌在教育前线的老师呢？民众在鸡蛋里给我们挑骨头，我们的工作随时都要受到老百姓的审判，有时候甚至严重的误判，想想这些事情，我这心里，拔凉拔凉的。然而不管外界怎样，我倒挺乐意在这三尺讲台上做着这些看似*凡的小事，因为乡村落后的教育现状需要我们，只有教育才是根本的出路，也只有教育，才能从根本上改变人们对老师对学校的负面看法。
老师们，我很*凡，但我不简单，我的手中，握着一百多个孩子的梦想！
三寸粉笔，三尺讲坛，是我每天的工作；早七点出发、晚五六点回家、陪陪儿子玩耍，三更半夜还得批改作业等待明天出发，这就是我一天的生活，作为一名城乡结合部的老师，终日在八公里的这条线上奔波着。只有我，才知道教育的紧迫性，才知道教育对于孩子，对于农村千万个家庭意味着什么。
我们在教育战线上兢兢业业，抛家舍业，是为了谁？为了明天，为了那哪怕一点点的希望，对于乡村，教育就是药，这个药不但能医病，还能医愚，而好的教育，就是灵丹妙药，为了能去改变一点点，我一直严格要求自己，做一个四有的老师。
我认为，要成为一名真正的好老师，需要做到以下几点：
一、做好老师，要有理想信念
好老师要有理想信念。坚定的信念意味着教师肩负着国家使命和社会责任，有了这样的信念，才能够给学生传播民族梦想的正能量。
二、做好老师，要有道德情操
好老师要有道德情操。教师不仅要传授知识，更要以身作则，给学生们树立正确的价值观。
三、做好老师，要有知识素养
教师不能只满足于师生之间“一桶水和一碗水”的知识传授关系，一定要培养学生的创新意识和创新能力。我们要培养学生的创新意识，开发他们的创新潜力。同时老师自己也要自由探索，勇于创新。身为一名合格教师，其首要一条就是具备深厚而广博的学识，这是一名教师最基本的业务素质。
四，做好老师，要有仁爱之心。
爱是教育的灵魂，教育的原点就是爱，教师肩负着立德树人的任务，有爱才有责任，爱教育、爱学生是每一个教师应尽的义务。爱是教育的灵魂，没有爱就没有教育。
在教育的路上，我们是一群追逐者；在成长的路上，我们是一群学*者。一个民族源源不断涌现出一批又一批好老师则是民族的希望。”为了孩子，为了孩子的明天，让我们在“四有”的路上努力追寻，成长自己，坚信选择，收获快乐！
青年教师在我们天鹅湖幼儿园教师队伍中，占有百分之89的比例，这些青年教师她们思想活跃、知识面广、视野开阔，接受新生事物快，和她们在一起，老教师也会老当益壮，只争朝夕。但她们也存在着一些弱点和不足：如教育教学经验欠缺，专业功底参差不齐，眼高手低，耐挫力差，一遇到困难，就容易“卷刃”等等，那么要使青年教师成为我园教育教学的骨干力量，我们就要爱惜她们、关心她们，就要扬其所长，避其所短。
1立足心理分析，促进青年教师尽快成长
促进我园青年教师，首先要了解她们的思想、能力和心理特点。青年教师，特别是我园新上岗的教师，她们缺少社会实践经验，思考问题容易脱离实际；文化水*高，观念新，现代意识强，但缺乏实际工作经验，缺乏协作攻关的意识；拥有专业理论知识，充满信心，渴望领导的理解、重视，但往往容易忽视自己的不足；拥有奉献精神，注重自我价值的实现，但缺乏坚持不懈的韧劲儿。对此，我们根据幼儿教师职业的特殊性，培养她们良好的心理素质，让她们获得更多的职业幸福感和成就感。利用各种机会和她们谈心交流，沟通情感，让她们认识到幼儿教育的重要性，并请先进教师、高级教师谈育人心得，开展“爱岗敬业”演讲比赛、《一节好课》示范课，使青年教师增强事业心、责任感，使之安心工作。
2创设以人为本的校园氛围，促进青年教师尽快成长
我园培养青年教师要实施目标管理，落实“三步走”战略：一年打基础；两年迈一步；三年上中等。第一年，重点抓好我园师德培养和业务培训，促使青年教师“立师德、练师能、创业绩”，树立良好的师表形象，具有与打造优质教育需要相适应的师德意识和业务能力；第二年，提高教学水*和科研能力，提升青年教师专业知识和业务能力，提高教育教学质量；第三年，铺*台、压担子，给青年教师创造锻炼和展示的机会，促其在学科教学与教育研究中发挥个性、大胆创新。

3.1进行换位思考。因为积极性程度取决于目标价值的大小和达到目标可能性的大小，目标的价值越大，吸引力越大，但如果实现的可能性小，可望而不可及，也不能激发其积极性。我们在布置或检查工作时经常换位思考，设法使每位教师自觉地去选择与幼儿园发展目标相一致的目标；给每个教师均等的条件，发挥其最大的潜力，同时又使其摩擦系数降低到最低，从而获取最大的合力；给每个教师充分的自**，以发挥其主动性、创造性、灵活性，充分地利用其智慧和才干，开展正当竞争。这种做法拉*了园领导与教师的心理距离，使更多的教师愉快地完成幼儿园的各项工作任务，让更多的教师感受到成功的乐趣。
3.2注意倾听交流。人的需要决定动机和行为。现代社会的人的需要是复杂多样的，除了物质需要外，还有多方面的社会需要。但是这些需要的迫切程度是有差异性的。人的需要在的不同时期、对不同对象是有侧重的，这就叫优势需要。因此，我们注意倾听青年教师的心声，从与青年教师的交流中获取有价值的信息，了解她们在想些什么，需要什么，她们为什么而困惑，为什么而烦恼，为什么而焦虑。在掌握了解集体和个体不同的优势需要后，进行正确决策与指挥，赢得她们的理解、支持，把物质激励和精神激励有机地结合起来，瞄准青年教师的“穴位”和“兴奋点”予以激励。这样，青年教师的工作热情和创造力便会大大增强。
3.3满足成就需要。每一位青年教师都渴望被认可、被赞扬、被发现、被重视，我们能充分满足每一位青年教师成才的需要。为青年教师搭台子、铺路子，让每一位青年教师都有成功的机会，都有显露身手的空间。在各项活动中，充分肯定青年教师的热情与创造，积极引导青年教师立足岗位成才，在*凡中求创新，鼓励她们战胜暂时的失败与挫折。当青年教师的成就感被充分激发的时候，她们对幼教事业的执着追求与探索将是自发的、自觉的，因而，她们的创造性成果也将是令人惊叹的。
3.4适度宽容。人的情绪是与人的要求是否得到满足以及满足的程度相联系的。情绪能使人的行为积极，也能使人的行为消极。我们在工作中，用优良的作风去建立融洽的关系，创设民主、宽松、*等的管理时空，充分信任，大胆使用青年教师，宽容她们成长过程中的不足与缺憾，赞赏每位青年教师的特长和优势，通过真诚的赞赏，让她们看到自身存在的价值，激励她们跟懒散、脆弱、自卑等心理问题作斗争。曾经有位领导同志谈到他的人才观：培养人才，要扬长补短；使用人才，要扬长避短；评价人才，要扬长容短。精辟的见解给人以很多启迪。实践表明，越是鼓励、越是赞赏、越是适度宽容，不但不会纵容她们的缺点，反而使青年教师加深了自我反省的意识，会使她们对自己的人格品德及业务素质等方面的自我完善的愿望更强烈，她们往往会自加压力，把外部管理要求内化为自我发展的客观需求。事实上，大多数教师是具备起码的自我评价意识的，对自身缺点也比较清楚，关键在于缺少改正缺点和不足的原动力。
青年教师是我园的主力军是教师队伍现代化的象征，有具备现代化教育思想能力的青年教师才能担负起培养高素质人才的重任。因此，我们一定要重视青年教师的培养。
“英语难，难于上青天”，“最令我们头疼的就是学英语”*常交谈中，我们常能听到许多类似的感慨。学英语真的很难吗?我认为：英语学*并非难事，关键在于要用心去学。首先，要舍得投入精力和时间，要有恒心。许多人学*英语时想寻求捷径，我认为这也未尝不可，但必须以坚实的基础为前提。付出总与收获成正比，持之以恒，英语水*就有了相应的提高。其次，掌握一定的词汇量。如果你目前没有掌握一定的词汇量，那么，你一定要学会如何掌握词汇量的方法。英语学*中，单词的记忆是困扰许多人的一个难题。记单词的确不是一件容易的事情，但若方法得当，效果就会好得多。我认为，大家倘能真正做到以下三点，掌握的词汇量一定会不断增多：
1、调整情绪。有的人想学，但却“怕”字当头，这与科学的学*方法相悖。心理学家认为：“当一个人感到极度兴奋时，学*的效果就极佳。它可使我们的思维变得敏捷、活跃，注意力集中。”所以在记忆单词前应首先调整好自己的情绪，使自己拥有一种学*单词的热情和牢记它们的决心，努力使自己处于学*的最佳状态。

3、巩固和强化。单词在初次学*后，应及时地复*、巩固，以免在短时间内遗忘。还有一些方法比如收听英语节目、看英文原版录像都是效果不错的方法。即经常有意识地用英语交流。英语考试中阅读理解题所占考分大，耗时多，但如果*时能做到多读，则有助于提高阅读能力。阅读要快读，以提高阅读速度，增加和扩大英语感性认识。
转眼间，我已上岗一个学期了。在这短短的几个月时光中，我深深的体会到了这份工作的纯真与美好。作为“孩子王”，与孩子在一起的氛围是任何现代装饰手段都无法营造。望着那一张张天真可爱的笑脸，一切的烦恼与忧愁刹那间消退，生活的诗画便在眼前飞扬，使心田灿烂，温馨甜美……我觉得小学教师是一个纯真和美好的职业。有人形容小学教师看起来永远都是那么的年轻和充满朝气。这种形容不无道理。当你面对孩子们那双清澈无比又充满童真的眼睛时，当你聆听着他们银铃般的笑声时，每个人都仿佛又重新回到了童年时光。这让我更叫喜欢这个职业，让我觉得这份职业如此纯真美好

“兴趣是孩子们最好的老师。”使学生带着浓厚的兴趣去学*，将会使教学工作取得事半功倍的效果，这是我教学中最深刻的体会。激发小学生的学*兴趣并不难。小学生初学英语，对英语充满了好奇与向往，与中文迥然不同的语音语调使他们跃跃欲试，欧洲国家的风土人情使他们眼界大开，再加上课堂上，我使用了大量的彩图、实物、头饰、音乐等作为教学工具，设计了丰富多采的教学游戏，让学生在玩中学，在学中玩，身心愉悦地上英语课，在不知不觉中就掌握了知识，使英语成为他们最喜欢的科目。

俗语有云：“一日不唱口生，一日不练手生。”因此，在英语教学中我要求学生必须对所学内容倒背如流，脱口而出。因此，每一内容传授完毕后，我都要求学生及时背诵、记忆，确保每一学生在单词、句子的听、说、读、写过关。每天早上，学生必须将所学内容读至少一遍以上，随时保持学*英语的最佳状态。在每一堂英语课前，我都会用英语与学生自由交谈。通过反复的操练，学生对知识自然能掌握得牢，用得活了。
三、严抓书写，打牢基矗
学英语并非是一朝一夕的事，可谓“never too old to learn.”(活到老，学到老.)那么，基础的重要性便不言而喻了。初学时如果在书写上或是发音上有不良的*惯或错误，在以后将很难纠正。因此，在小学英语教学中，我在书写和发音上要求特别严格，哪怕是abc这样简单的字母。在书写上，我要求学生先书空，再在练*本上写，最后写到作业本上。乱涂乱画及不符合四线三格书写规则的一律重写至规范为止。“磨刀不误砍柴工”，做好了准备，打牢了基础，既使教学活动更顺利、更规范化，也为学生将来学*英语铺就一条*坦大道。
四、在英语教学中贯彻道德教育原则。
教师的职责，古人概括为“传道、授业、解惑”，把道德教育放到了首位。教书必先育人，英语科也不例外。在小学英语教材中，有许多礼貌用语，如：thank you! excuse me. sorry. after you.等;有教人拾金不昧的小故事;有发人深省的寓言;有宣扬团结互助的短文......我绝不放过这样的教育机会，除了句子、短文的阅读、理解教学外，更让学生去体会其中的精神。让学生在课堂模仿操练之余，也延伸到日常生活中去，成为个人的一种情操。如今，学生已将thank you! sorry. that’s all right.等挂在嘴边，文明有礼成了一种风气。

my father always stands in the center of my life， from past till now and possibly in the future.
my family was rather poor when i was in my childhood. we didn't have our own house and had to live in a shabby， small room rented from my father's factory. the room was so small that there was little space for people to walk. i didn't have my own bed and had to sleep with my parents. this is terrible both for my parents and me.
but father made this all different!he works very hard on his own business, now we have our own 2 housese,surly,i have my own room.and he take our family so much happiness, richer and richer.
when i was little, i did everything with my dad. you could always find me sitting on his knee or walking and doing everything with him. every night he would read me a bed time story and make the voices of each character.
i learnt a lot from my daddy. i learnt to never take things to seriously and to always smile.

今天我们在这里举行会议是为了迎接20xx年的第一场战役，也就是第一次质检，当然，我们的最终目的是迎接高考。现在，英语学*进入了一个非常关键的阶段，也是一个瓶颈阶段。不少高三学生虽然努力学*英语，但仍然没有明显的进步，有时会感到力不从心，手足无措。其实最主要的原因可能在于学*方法上出现了一些问题。在这里我给大家提几点建议供大家参考。
一、制定计划。要想学好一门语言，首先要一个切实可行的计划，用以指导自已的学*，古人说得好“凡事预则立，不预则废。”做事有计划就不会打乱仗，也不会感到盲从。
二、专心听课。课堂是获取知识的主要来源，上课是学生进解和掌握基础的基本技能并在此基础上发展认知能力的一个关键环节，这就要求同学们始终保持高度集中的注意力，力争在课内就把一节课的内容记住，当堂消化。
三、及时复*。知识贵在落实，课后及时复*能加深和巩固对新知识理解和记忆，系统在掌握新知识以达到灵活运用，即知识迁移的目的。
四、掌握正确的记忆方法。英语是一门记忆很强的学科，要大量积累词汇。很多同学最烦记单词，总是抱怨记不住，以致于丧失了信心。这是因为你没有了解到记忆的规律，没有掌握记单词的技巧。现在我给大家介绍几种方法。
1。及时记忆法，要求上课时认真听讲，争取趁热打铁，当堂记住。

2。朗读、背诵是培养语感的捷径。主要是多读课文及听力教材，要将一个单词读准，一个句子读顺，一篇文章读烂，*时朝读时要最大声、最快速、最清晰地读。通过诵读，同学们可对文章的'语意、语法、语气、语调、节奏、重音了然于心。
3。要进行广泛阅读。阅读是吸收语言材料的最好途径，实践证明，学生阅读面越宽，语言实践越大，阅读理解能力便越强。只有通过读，才能够获得最大的实践量，才能享受到学*外语的真正甜头和学*的乐趣。阅读的数量多了，一些常用词汇、句式结构自然在脑子中形成了印象，也就逐渐形成了语感。现在我们每天至少应阅读一两篇文章。
4。多积累多写作是培养语感的必经之路。在*时写日记、周记，考试时尽量使用通过积累的高级词汇和句型，这样才能有效地提高写作水*。
六、要注重课本，排查要点，各个击破。这几年高考中都有课文中的原句子，同学们要善于发现隐藏在课文中的命题胚胎。

It is a great honor and pleasure to be here on this beautiful Saturday morning to share with you my sentiments about life and passion for the English language.
About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

让游戏闪亮你的英语课堂
游戏在英语课堂上的重要性都快比得上水之于鱼了，很难想象一堂课上，如果没有了游戏，该怎么继续。不论高年级还是低年级，在游戏中学*都是一种十分有效的学*方式。低年级学生好动又好胜，游戏能让他们在动身体的同时动脑，并且享受成功的喜悦。高年级的课堂相对而言比较乏味，适时的游戏会是绝佳的作料。好的游戏能让一堂沉闷的英语课活跃起来，是学生学*的兴奋的药剂。
一、游戏的安排应讲究一个“适”字，适时、适式、适度。
（一）适时组织游戏
看准时机，针对学生的实际安排合适的游戏形式。
1.让学生从思想上尽快进入英语课堂，游戏导入是个相当快捷、有效的方法。我们可以安排listen and do，listen and point，look and say，flash and say等操作简单，但具有检查性质的游戏。学生在玩游戏的同时，复*了旧知识，情感上也得到了体验。而从这些旧知识的复*，我们可以自然过渡到新知识的传授，温故知新，以旧带新，一举两得。
2.在复*巩固阶段，最忌讳的是机械操练。游戏能使复*变得生动。比如我们学了一系列水果以后，安排老师拿一个水果，学生说出来的环节，但反复几次之后，学生的积极性就会减弱。这时，我们安排游戏Who is missing？Who is fast？Magic eyes等，学生的积极性就会立刻恢复，一只只小手又会争先恐后地举
起。
3.当学生的脸上闪过“无聊”、“困惑”的痕迹时，游戏可解“燃眉之急”。高年级的学生面临背单词、记单词的难题。如果不讲究方法地死记硬背，不但效果不好，学生的兴趣也会逐渐降低。在这个阶段，如果能帮助他们掌握正确的方法，促使他们主动背单词，就会对他们以后的英语学*有很大的帮助。单词接龙、吊死鬼、寻找共同点等游戏，不仅让学生始终处于积极思考的状态，而且能提高他们课后记单词的兴趣。
（二）适式组织游戏
有些游戏的可用性很强，如copy不走样等游戏，无论什么内容，都能套用。但有些游戏，却不是什么内容都合适的。教师要学会使用最恰当的游戏，如flash and guess这样的游戏仅适合单词教学，而不适合巩固句型。
不同年龄阶段的学生，对游戏的口味也不同，我们要学会投其所好。低年级的学生喜欢趣味性强的，如copy不走样，high voice and low voice能引起他们参与的欲望。而高年级的学生则喜欢探索型的游戏，比如bingo、加减运算对抗赛就很受他们的欢迎。
（三）适度组织游戏
在教学中，我们不能只为让学生放松、玩乐而安排游戏，归根结底，游戏是为教学服务的。在游戏活动之前，我们必须指定相应的规则，没有规则，游戏过程就会很“乱”，有规则才能“活而
有序”。当学生的“玩性”到五、六成的时候，我们的游戏就该结束了。因为如果游戏结束太早，学生才刚进入游戏状态，熟悉游戏规则，就结束游戏，一来扫兴，二来游戏的“运用语言”的目的也没达到。如果游戏结束得太晚，学生就会越来越无聊，下次再玩这类游戏就没有了热情。
二、游戏的组织，还要讲究一个“变”字——以不变应万变。
（一）巧设陷阱
同一个游戏“发口令，做动作”，一般都是教师怎么发，学生怎么做，最多让一个学生发，其他学生做，偶尔做做反口令，分组进行比赛。做多了，学生的好奇心没有了，游戏就变成了机械操练。如果设几个陷阱，就会有“眼睛一眨，老母鸡变鸭”的效果。趣味性的调节就是教师在做动作的时候，可以先慢慢地好像在做“坐下”的动作，眼神一定要是那种坏坏的，然后突然变成“起立”，让学生产生和教师斗下去的欲望。师生成了“敌人”，而游戏就成了“战争”。把动作和语言结合起来，边做动作边说，动作和口令有时一致，有时不一致。在训练学生对所学知识掌握的同时，还训练了学生的反应能力。
（二）变换速度
随着学生对知识的掌握逐渐加深，训练的速度可以逐渐加快，这不但适合学*的'规律，还使原本枯燥的操练重新显出生气，学生逐渐淡化的新奇感又被激起。
（三）奖励机制的运用
在教育中，我们能体会到表扬和激励对学生起的作用比批评更大。在老师的激励下，学生的探索精神更易发挥，更容易学会原本以为很难学的东西。我常常采用口头表扬，认为给学生物质奖励会使他们变得功利，但在同事们的感染下，偶尔尝试奖励，也取得了很好的激励效果。我用小五星激励学生，常常搞得自己整个黄昏剪五角星，有时，一节课奖多了，自己还有点心疼，最重要的是用多了学生还不稀罕了。其实我们可以尝试用加分的方法，注意分值有区别，加分要敏感，时时注意给学生以表扬，让学生得到认可。这样一来，不但让自己得到解脱，更使奖励更具可变性。
（四）以人为本
教育的对象是人，所以教育应当以人为本。在游戏中，教师的神态、语态、眼神、动作是十分重要的，教师要用主持人一般的激情，让每个学生都感觉到老师的召唤。我相信教师只有投入情感，学生才会给予相应的回报。
当我们感到教学有一丝疲倦的时候，一个小游戏会赶走疲倦，让我们放松那根紧绷的弦，重新振作精神。当我们感到教学有一点枯燥的时候，一个小游戏会把欢笑带来，当笑声充满教室时，我们的心也跟着飞舞。当我们感到教学有些沉闷的时候，一个小游戏让我们的脑袋重新思考，手脑并用，边玩乐边学*。小学英语课堂里的游戏魅力无穷。

Good morning/afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
Consider the lowly toilet. Many of you may not think of the toilet as a form of technology if you think of toilets at all. But, it is and has contributed greatly to the improved health and overall quality of life for mankind.
On a recent trip to Japan, I was impressed by, among other things, a gadget in most public women's restrooms, called Otohime or Sound Princess. This device produces the sound of flushing water without the need for actual flushing. The technology saves the user both the embarrassment of being heard during urination and some 20 liters of water per use in cases where a woman might flush the toilet continuously while using it.
Every time I used Otohime, I felt like a princess, an environmentalist princess on the toilet.
It was a longed for feeling. Over the past decade, I shuffled in and out of many kinds of public restrooms in China--filthy smelly water closets in outlying areas, spacious luxurious lavatories in five-star hotels, forever-occupied girls' stalls on campus during school, and smart modern mobile toilets in international fairs. But not one single "room" evoked my pride of being a princess.
And I knew why the Sound Princess had. It was not because of the high technology the small bathroom boasted which is becoming ubiquitous worldwide. It was the idealism embodied in the technology that keeps reminding me that in this ever-changing world, I am a responsible and dignified human being even when sitting on a toilet.
Humanism, no matter how it is defined, aims to strike a balance between us being at the mercy of nature and being too human-centered. In my case, I haven't relieved myself under a tree for a while. I am a proud, dutiful Chinese citizen. Gone are the days when people just found a corner to do their business resulting in poor sanitation and threats to public health. The Otohimetechnology renders me two warnings: First, I am a humble human being with an obligation to save not only my face but also natural resources. Second, there is still a long way to go in my own country not just in developing technology and the economy, but also in upholding human dignity and promoting human welfare. Take the toilet: Dirty, crowdedtoilets shall, at least, give way to clean, human-friendly ones.
Fortunately, I have seen improvements. At Shanghai World Expo 2010, 8,000 toilets, all modern and technologically sophisticated, were installed across the site. What really delighted the visitors, however, was the user-friendly design and services. Toilets were situated every 100 meters. Several hundred volunteers served as toilet guides and sanitation workers. The ratio of female to male toilet space was set at 2.5 to 1. Soft music was played in the toilets. All this seems to celebrate the glory of comprehensive humanism.
Ladies and gentlemen, science and technology are here to improve earthly life and maximize human happiness. When our world benefits from technology, coupled with human considerations, we are bound to enjoy our life. Conversely, we suffer.
The toilet is a piece of sanitaryware and the quintessence of humanism that underlies technological innovation. Like GNP, employment rates, and space exploration efforts, the lowly equipment is an equally important measure of a progressive society. When on a toilet if we feel like a princess, we shall be proud of living in a society that values humanity. If not, we must stand up and make some changes.
And if you are still baffled with what I have said, I suggest you take off right now and go experience the bathrooms in this auditorium, because they are what makes our life beautiful or ugly, humanism considered or ignored.
