We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.
Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.
Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they become waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses.
Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. However, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. The old tyres become waste because it can’t break down by nature. This is really a big problem.
do you often use batteries? then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? and just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. the facts and figures are amazing. so would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? if possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more. sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.
we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. all of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

People in rich countries make the heaviest demands on the worlds resources, its food, fuel and land, and cause the most pollution. A baby born in the United States will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the worlds resources than a baby born in India. Unless all the countries of the world take united action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and more people fighting for a share of less and less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.
For most of the developing countries, it is a good idea to control the population growth. For example, China has carried out birth control for years. And this plan has a great effect on the world population.
If the population continues to increase, if the air and water continue to be polluted, if we dont do something to protect wild-plant and wildlife species will be declining. Here, Id like to share my own experience abroad with you. Several years ago, I was very lucky to he an opportunity to live in the Australia about half a month. During that time, Not only did I enjoy the beautiful natural scenery there, but also I appreciated the peoples active way of protecting their environment. Now, whenever the environment protection is mentioned, the beautiful scenery of Australia will arise in my mind, white clouds flying across the blue sky, green grassplot sprinkled with colorful flowers and lovely squirrels playing happily among the trees.

On a Saturday morning. I went to have breakfast. I felt there was a terrible smell and went over to have a look carefully. A lot of plastic bags always float on it .In summmer we have to go far away from the village to swim.
What causes this? Who is the devil?It’s the human ourselves. I have got to known from a book .The rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields and damages the earth’s surface .It pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages our health. The adults often say “The body is capital.” But why are they able to make woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life ?

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. My topic is "Give environment more care". I’d like to talk about some global environmental problems, share some of my stories and show you some data in my speech.
At the beginning, I’d like to ask you a question. Has your hometown’s environment been polluted, if it has, raise your hands please? （Thank you） Let me give you an impression of my hometown. That is a small village of Yunnan province. There are many mountains, forests and rivers. If you go there, I promise you will be amazed by its beautiful landscape. Because you just can touch the nature with your fingers and feelings. You can enjoy the blue sky, flying birds, waterfall, amazing sunset and many other sceneries. When I was a teenager, I often climbed these mountains and jumped into clear and clean river for a swim with my peers. However, after my graduation from high school, I came to Beijing for college. I found something different. Because when I raised my head, the sky’s color was not blue, but yellow. When I looked down, dirty and poisonous rivers are full of unrecyclable rubbish and giving out unpleasant smells. When I looked forward, so many people wore their mouth masks. We breathe polluted air, making us suffer from lung and liver diseases. Besides, because of it, the flights have to be canceled. Here, Id like to share my own experience abroad with you. Several years ago, I was very lucky to he an opportunity to live in the Australia about half a month. 敬爱的老师，亲爱的同学们：
大家好。
今天我演讲的主题是：《保护环境，从我做起》。
地球是我们人类的家园，也是人类的母亲。我们依赖它，探索它。这个蔚蓝色的星球多么美丽，但我们要知道：地球只有一个！
我为周围环境的恶化而感到心痛，我想：作为未来接班人的青少年，如果不了解环境问题的严重性，无视有关环境保护的法律法规，不去增强环境保护意识，我们的生命将毁在自己的手中，老天将对我们作出严厉的惩罚。为此我下定决心要从我做起爱护环境，保护我们这个赖以生存的家园，做一个保护环境的卫士。
如果我们破坏环境，浪费水资源，生物会灭绝，人类会渴死，地球会变成沙漠。水是人类的好朋友。我们从小就被大人教育，节约用水，这个道理我们谁都可以倒背如流，但却没有人真正的重视过。
然而，*几年来，地球的环境却越来越恶劣：全球性气候变暖，飓风、暴雨等灾害性天气频繁出现，“非典”、禽流感等传染性疾病时有发生，给人类的.生活和工作带来严重威胁和许多不便。这些都是人们不断地“伤害”地球的结果。大片的森林被砍伐，碧绿的青山被挖掘，美丽的草原成荒漠，清澈的河水成浊流。树林少了，青山秃了，草原荒了，清水黑了，使人们生存的'环境变坏，呼吸的空气变差，生活的环境被许多有害的东西所“侵占”，病毒就趁机钻进人们的体内，我们人类就会患上一些可怕的疾病。
俗语说得好：“前人栽树，后人乘凉”，前人给了我们大片大片的森林，绿地，我们留给后人的是什么？是光秃秃的荒漠，还是茂密的树林，你肯定选择的是茂密的树林。那还有什么犹豫的，让我们大家一起自觉保护环境，自觉爱护环境，自觉绿化环境，改善我们的生活环境，创造美好的未来！
我们的地球已经进入了病入膏肓的状态。后知后觉的地球人，直至*几年才大力鼓吹环保运动，但却不见有任何的改善，正所谓“江山易改本性难移”，或许我们需再花上一个世纪，甚至几十个世纪的时间才能有效的拯救地球吧。
如果就连身为地球人的我们都不珍惜、爱护地球，那这工作将由谁来做呢？环保工作其实并不难，只要全世界的人一人捡一份垃圾，那么这地球就会干净多了！
保护环境，是我们每个社会公民的义务，我们要自觉的行动，并坚持在随时随地保护我们周围的环境，保护环境，就是在保护人类生存的最宝贵的地方。
我希望大家都来保护环境，让大家知道，破坏自然环境，就等于自毁家园。让全世界少年儿童，都能自觉保护环境，保护生态自然环境，使人类生活变得更加美好，更加幸福。
尊敬的老师们、亲爱的同学们：
大家好！
我认为，世界只可毁灭，不可拯救，当然现在我想这一观点似乎是错误的。因为一切我所看到的，正在地球上发生的事情，都表明情况还不是很糟糕，仍有很多人为拯救这个星球而奋斗终生。但很遗憾，这些奋斗中有相当一部分很可能将是徒劳的。
一方面，有些奋斗是粗浅，无知，甚至心不在焉、空走形式。
另一方面，毁灭世界似乎要比拯救世界容易得多。
就我个人而言，我宁可说自己是地球毁灭者，也不敢吹嘘自己曾为环保作过多大贡献。我认为，在这个人口已经成为极大多余的星球上，任何人的.出生本就是对环境的潜在威胁。
成长，消费、制造垃圾，可以说我们每个人都对此世界欠下了一笔债，欠债还钱，理之固然。那么我们搞环保，就没有理由骄傲，只能说是在恶劣的环境中痛苦太久之后的良心发现、大脑完善，摆脱了幼稚、野蛮、粗鲁之后，来偿还这笔债。
我并非宣扬所谓“人之初、性本恶”，但我们欠了债--事实如此，我们每个人都必须深刻地认识到这一点，才有可能放下花架子，少些沾沾自喜，真正把环保当成一种责任，严肃地环保，认真地环保，甚至泪流满面地去环保。这样，我们才不会一面高呼环保，一面把塑料袋随手扔在路边；或是把树苗从一个地方挖来，再随随便便埋到另一处，之后看着它慢慢枯死，痛苦死。
那么，我们的奋斗才不会是粗浅的、形式的，我们的奋斗才真正算是奋斗。
另一方面的问题是，拯救世界的努力到底能抵消多少毁灭的行为。也许“抵消”一词在此并不恰当，假使东北虎彻彻底底死干净了，那么这种毁灭将是不可抵消的，哪怕我们用百万条人命，也不大可能再从上帝手中换回一对虎亚当、虎夏娃。我说毁灭要比拯救容易得多，至少在人数上如此，为拯救而奋斗者毕竟只是一部分，而毁灭者却是全体。“毁灭”一词也许触目惊心了些，但事实上我们每个人都在为毁灭而效力。
我们要吃饭，于是大片森林草原被开垦为所谓良田，烧荒烧荒，越烧越荒，沙漠化就由此开始。我们每个人都要求生存的空间，于是我们的空间就越来越挤，越来越脏。
我们应当感到危机，拯救的努力在毁灭面前实在太脆弱了，几十甚至几百年长成的林木只要几把电锯就能剃得油光锃亮；而辛苦经营的美丽田园只要几枚导弹就炸成乱坟岗。毁灭的潜在欲望，我想很多人都有的，一旦膨胀起来，后果不堪设想--北约就是，至少它的行动有违环保！
惩罚毁灭者比拯救世界更伟大的意义就在于此。至少，可以使肆无忌惮的毁灭者毁灭，让他们胆寒，催人们觉醒，鼓我们斗志。这样，我们才能多些拯救，少些毁灭。
环保问题是天天谈了，咱们都懂，但我仍然感到悲哀。世界虽非不可拯救，但若我们没能真正认真起来，严肃起来，恐怕我们还得走下坡路，不过，我们仍有理由可以欣慰，就今天看来，我想，世界是不会毁灭的至少一百年内。

地球是我们美丽的家园，我们都应该爱护家园，从身边的小事做起，保护环境，节约能源。
我是一名小学生，也要爱护花草、树木，节约能源。我要节约用纸，作业本用完后，不要扔掉，背面可以用来演算，还可以抄作业、画画。这样就可以减少用纸。纸是用大树做成的，如果节约用纸，就不用砍那么多的树木，大树就能挡住风沙，就能起到保护环境的作用。
妈妈常常对我说，要节约用水，不要浪费水。我每次洗手的时候，就会把水笼头开的小一点，洗过脸的水，不用扔掉，可以用来洗脚。妈妈也很节约用水，常常用洗过衣服的水去拖地。还有我家客厅摆了放了好几盆花，这些漂亮的花都是用洗过菜的水来浇的。妈妈说，水资源很宝贵，我们都要节约它。在我们的生活中还有很多需要我去节约的`，比如节约用电，少用一次性筷子，少用塑料袋。这些都是妈妈告诉我的，我要向妈妈学*，学会节约能源。

人们常说：“爆竹声声辞旧岁，欢歌笑语迎春来。”的确，劳累了一年的中国人总爱在除夕之夜以最热闹的方式迎接新年的到来，故而燃放烟花爆竹便成为庆祝的方式之一。
“噼里啪啦……”门外传来一阵阵震耳欲聋的爆竹声，炸开后的爆竹碎片满地都是，火红火红的，伴随着它的还有那刺鼻的气味。这种浓烟和气味不只出现在我家，家家户户都充满了爆竹燃烧后释放出的浓烟，甚至整条街道、整个天空，空气非常难闻。
吃完了饭，我好奇地问爸爸：“爸爸，放这么多爆竹会不会破坏环境呢?”
“应该会吧。”爸爸回答道。
我又问：“那为什么还要放?”
爸爸：“这样热闹，图个喜庆，当然是要放的了。”我十分不理解。
清晨，我高高兴兴地跑出家门，却被扑鼻而来的浓烟呛得直咳嗽。我不由得想到：过年放烟花爆竹确实给节日添了一份喜庆，一份热闹，同时也带来了危险。
燃放烟花爆竹时产生有毒气体，会对环境造成破坏，如空气中的PM2。5浓度升高，产生大量的二氧化硫、二氧化氮等有害气体，这些气体可以在大气中聚积，造成大地越来越热，南极冰川不断融化。
还有不少人因为燃放烟花爆竹而受伤。那些顽皮的小孩在燃放爆竹的'过程中，由于爆竹的威力强大，一不小心就有可能被炸伤眼睛、手指等，这可关系到孩子的未来。
门外的浓烟渐渐消散，我的心绪却并未消去。我相信，只要我们减少燃放烟花爆竹，地球就会减少一些负担，世界将会变得更加美好，金城江这座山城才会更加美丽。

今年的6月5日，是第xx个世界环境日。***已经确定20xx年为“国际沙漠和荒漠化年”。为了遵守惯例，同“国际沙漠和荒漠化年”主题保持一致，选择“沙漠和荒漠化”作为今年世界环境日的主题，以突出强调这一人类所面临的紧迫环境问题。
当我们从繁忙的学*中抽身投入到大自然的怀抱，我们发现我们的大自然母亲已经变了模样——群山光秃秃的；水塘变成泥浆坑；小河捞不到鱼和虾……让我们看得更大一些，更远一点吧！据科学家统计：中华民族的摇篮——黄河，*两千年来决口一千五百多次，改道二十六次，给**的人民带来深重的灾难。为什么会这样呢？这意味着什么？这意味着我们如果不及时保护环境，珍惜我们的地球家园，美丽的地球家园将会连同人类自身一同消灭掉！地球因为有了人类而日益繁华，地球也正因为有了类而逐渐走向衰亡。人类正在用智慧扼杀自己赖以生存的地球。这是多么可怕的事实啊！所以我们要大声的呼吁：我们要保护环境！
我们现在是在校学生，我们目前可做的就是保护我们美丽的校园。亲爱的同学们，我们都想在一个绿树成阴的校园里学*，想在一个清洁、美丽的校园里健康成长，学*本领。校园是我们共同生活的大家园，校园的美丽要靠你，要靠我，要靠我们共同来创造。首先让我们看看以前的校园吧。一进入校园，随处可见乱仍的纸屑、塑料袋，春风轻轻的吹过，纸屑、尘土满天飞扬。正在绿化的花坛里，被同学们肆意践踏；教室的走廊上，原本雪白的墙壁被同学们乱涂乱画；变得污迹斑斑；还有的同学从楼上向楼下到垃圾杂物；有的同学在课桌上乱刻乱画……看到这些你的.感受是怎样的？在这样的校园环境里学*能使你身心快乐吗？每当看到这样的情景，我的心情总是非常的沉重，悄悄的拾起垃圾。我希望同学们行动起来，同心协力爱护校园卫生，净化美化校园环境，
保护生态环境，没有全社会的参与很难成功。青少年是民族的希望和未来，是生态环境建设的生力军。让我们带动更多的人们行动起来，从自己做起，从小事做起，保护生态环境，共建文明家园。

我们从小就被教育，节约要从小处着手，从一粒米、一滴水做起，然而，节约终究并不只是小事，现在的社会有时候变得很陌生，节约反而成了小气被人笑话，节俭被当成贫穷的表现。我们需要在全社会改变那种所谓的虚荣消费心理和浪费观念，需要重新认识老祖宗留下的千年传统和良好美德。
俭朴，勤奋是我们中华民族的美德。俭、勤这两个字看似寻常，却不能等闲视之。它是我们作为一名电力工作者不可缺少的美德，是成才的一种激素。因为只有具备这种美德，才能忘怀得失，不慕荣利;只有具备这种美德的人，才能胸怀大志，处困境而不沮丧，受窘厄而泰然如常;只有具备这种美德，才能摒弃奢欲，以事业为重，有所成就，有所作为。
由此我想到了一向以“小气”闻名的日本丰田汽车公司。他们的“小气”着实令人对日本人感到惊讶，对日本企业感到震憾。为了节约用水，丰田公司的员工将抽水马桶里放三块砖，以节约冲水量;笔记用纸正面书写完后，裁成四段订成小册子，反面再作便条纸使用;一只手套破了，只换一只，另一只破了再换;员工上班时，如要离开工作岗位三步以上，一律自觉的跑步;有时候真觉得不可思议，偌大的一个世界知名企业，还这么小气，还在乎这么一点点浪费吗?但是，对于丰田来说，“聚沙可成塔，积水可成渊”，正是由于丰田汽车公司员工的这种“小气”，才成就了丰田公司今天的辉煌。
当国家电网公司的“三节约”活动理念迅速渗透到公司系统各个角落时，当厉行节约将成为我们的一种境界、一种*惯、和一种文明的生活方式时，我们有理由相信眼前这个曾经“大手大脚惯了”的显些浮华浮躁的社会正在踏实务实起来。如果说，这境界、这*惯、这文明的生活方式的培养，是从“节约一分钱，节约一张纸，节约一寸导线”的多个节衣缩食的“一”开始的，那么，它体现的却是我们电力人对人与自然关系的新认识，对严竣的资源和能源形势的危机感，对人类社会可持续发展的`责任感。
由此，我也想到了我们的节约意识却反差很大。回想我们在工作和生活中，是否注意节约每一滴水、每一度电、每一张纸往往是我们在不经意中就造成了诸多浪费。许多纸张只写了几个字就扔进废纸篓;白天亮着的电灯;卫生间水龙头哗哗流水其实稍加注意，我们可以做得更好，但往往我们却忽视了这些细节。我想，在家里我们肯定能做到随手关灯、关水;朋友间联系，若没有重要的事情，我们肯定会选择发短信而不是
打电话，为什么在单位里却忽略了这些细节?关健是我们没有将自身真正溶入到企业中，没有将节约养成一种良好的*惯，并形成一种观念。
大到压缩各种经费的开支，小到一粒粮食，都要树立勤俭节约光荣，奢侈浪费可耻的观念，让节约真正成为一种*惯，形成一种时尚。一位水资源专家曾说人类的最后一滴水将是你的眼泪。我们的节约不仅仅只是领导一个人的事情，更是每位员工共同的责任，每一滴水、每一度电、都关系到我们每一名员工的切身利益。假如没有“小气”精神和节约意识，做什么事都铺张浪费，不珍惜资源，不珍惜时间，让浪费的思想侵蚀我们的头脑，并任其蔓延，我们取得再大的成绩也将毁于一旦。
“三节约”是公司倡导的一种勤俭精神，也是对广大干部员工的基本要求。作为公司的一名员工，我们应该大力发扬勤俭节约的精神，在*时的工作中，严格执行各项节约制度，努力培养自己的节约意识，通过开展学*“三节约”活动理念，我们应该拨起算盘珠子，小至“一分钱、一张纸、一寸导线”，大至一台实验仪器、一座试验室的建设维护，精打细算地过日子、科学节约地保安全。

在你我使用电灯、电器、电话电脑、空调、饮水机的时候，我们做到节约一度电了吗? 在你我使用矿泉水、纸杯的时候，我们可曾想过若干次后它也是一笔不小的金额吗? 在你我将吃不完的饭菜视做垃圾倒掉的时候，我们想到节约了吗?
许多历史和现实告诉我们：一个没有勤俭节约、艰苦奋斗精神作支撑的国家是难以繁荣昌盛的;一个没有勤俭节约、艰苦奋斗精神作支撑的社会是难以长治久安的;一个没有勤俭节约、艰苦奋斗精神作支撑的民族是难以自立自强的;同样，一个没有勤俭节约、艰苦奋斗精神作支撑的企业是难以持续发展的。
节能降耗不是一时的、而是永恒的话题。
