The streets are crowded with people. The streets seem alive with people. People eating. People washing. People talking. People sleeping. People visiting each other, arguing and screaming. People relieving themselves. People pushing their hands through the taxi windows, begging. People leading animals. People, people, people, people. As we drive slowly through the crowd, sounding the taxis horn, the dust, heat, noise and cooking fires made it like a scene from hell! I admit, frightening.
To the nature, overpopulation is a big problem. More people, more pollution. And the big population is threatening the nature every second.
The rapid rise in world population is not creating problems only for the developing countries. The whole world faces the problem that raw materials are being used up at an increasing rate and food production can not keep up with the population increase. People in rich countries make the heaviest demands on the worlds resources, its food, fuel and land, and cause the most pollution. A baby born in the United States will use in his lifetime 30 times more of the worlds resources than a baby born in India. Unless all the countries of the world take united action to deal with the population explosion there will be more and more people fighting for a share of less and less land, food and fuel, and the future will bring poverty, misery and war to us all.
For most of the developing countries, it is a good idea to control the population growth. For example, China has carried out birth control for years. And this plan has a great effect on the world population.
If the population continues to increase, if the air and water continue to be polluted, if we dont do something to protect wild-plant and wildlife species will be declining. Species and biological communities have difficulty adapting to change. Economic opportunities and the quality of life of future generations are also put at risk. low-carbon is one of the most popular buzz-words in this year. Not only China but all countries focus on the topic of low-carbon.
Here, Id like to share my own experience abroad with you. Several years ago, I was very lucky to he an opportunity to live in the Australia about half a month. During that time, Not only did I enjoy the beautiful natural scenery there, but also I appreciated the peoples active way of protecting their environment. Now, whenever the environment protection is mentioned, the beautiful scenery of Australia will arise in my mind, white clouds flying across the blue sky, green grassplot sprinkled with colorful flowers and lovely squirrels playing happily among the trees.
As a citizen of China, if everyone can actively protect the environment in our daily life and if we would like to reduce our carbon footprint, the scenery of blue sky, green grass and lovely animals in Australia will appear in China, even in HeFei.
But I totally support the view, that is to say, Emotion without action is irrelevant! Do you unplug electronics after you use them? Do you switch off everything before you go to sleep? Do you adjust your TV screen a bit dimmer to se energy? Do you re-use water for different activities around the house? Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they bee waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will bee waste. When the glass is broken, it also bees waste. Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses. Once it is broken, it bees waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called "white pollution" as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. When I looked down, dirty and poisonous rivers are full of unrecyclable rubbish and giving out unpleasant smells. When I looked forward, so many people wore their mouth masks. Everyone here complains weather and environment. It seems so inharmonious between man and nature. Why?
As we know, in the past few centuries, human have made countless remarkable achievements in science and technology to explore the mysterious world better. Conquering nature with powerful tools, people have achieved material prosperity. Meanwhile, environment has been badly damaged. So a series of severe problems come along, such as species extinction, energy crisis, incurable diseases, the three main pollutions etc. All of these factors bring our beautiful planet disasters, humanity as well. Let me show you some statistics. According to the report from World Wide Fund for Nature, the species of entire world have declined by 52 % since 1970. That means about 75 kinds of precious species disappear forever from the Earth each day. In addition, scientists claimed that human now need one and a half Earth to meet the demand for natural resources. Another frightening data from the UN in 2022, there are almost 8.4 million people around the world who die of cancers caused by environmental issues every year. It is so horrible, isn’t it? Man has taken too much from nature, also paid such a heavy price for it. If we don’t try to change these situations, what will happen one or two centuries later?
But, fortunately, the majority throughout the world are aware of the significance of environmental protection. Much many individuals, environmentalists and organizations have taken actions spontaneously. Companies donate part of their profits to support some green projects. Moreover, Government has carried out many policies to conserve endangered species, support green industries and encourage people to live a green life. From a global perspective, though it is a long journey to make the Earth recovered and to live in harmony with it, I do believe that, with everyone’s efforts, we will finally get there.
Ladies and gentlemen. For ourselves, for our children, and for all human beings, by the end of my speech, I do hope you can keep the following words in mind ---- The nature’s prosperity is humanity’s prosperity. On a Saturday morning. I went to have breakfast. I felt there was a terrible smell and went over to have a look carefully. I found that there was a big pile of banana skins giving out the smell.Just then a young fellow holding a dustpan rubbish to walk towards here . He raised his hands, The big pile of rubbish was here. At once I went to him and said “Uncle , you can’t do like this . These things will rot very soon. Looking at this , I remembered another act : There is a stream through our village. Over it there are two bridges .At the age of seven years old , I enjoyed the beautiful scenery under the bridge very much. It was the best place to swim in summer. But now the rubbish was getting more and more .Dish leaves,fruit skins,dead ducks and chickens….after rotting ,not only the mosquitos flew around but also the bad smell made everyone feel quite terrible.Though the stream was cleaned up several times, it’s still happening now. A lot of plastic bags always float on it .In summmer we have to go far awayfromthe village to swim.
What causes this? Who is the devil?It’s the human ourselves. I have got to knownfroma book .The rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields and damages the earth’s surface .It pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages our health. The *s often say “The body is capital.” But why are they able to make woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life ?
Schoolmates, we are the host of society tomorrow . It’s our duty to improve and build the safe invironment.

With the developing rises live, people directs more and more excessively on environment, especially in a few middle-schools. It would destroy nature if we Wastes excessive balance.
Protect the environment is the duty of everyone, we are just some students , we couldn't make something especially big contribution for the environment , but we can secondary composes up in our environment , from protecting schools' environment, for example: Observe in connection with the regulation forbidding chaos to throw away various waste , avoid using the drink cup , mess tin , plastic bag for one time merely , use paper box to wait in the place or container throwing away waste to appointment, replace, such can cut down a rubbish greatly, lightening refuse disposal job pressure , treasuring flowers and plants trees , being the cleaning giving to New Year card as a gift , keeping campus short and so on.

惊人的数字，令人毛骨悚然，这其实已向我们发出了严正的警告：如果只顾盲目地吮吸自然的乳汁，而不立即行动起来，投入保护环境、拯救家园的战斗，最终毁灭的将是我们人类。

奶奶：买东西的时候用环保袋。
我奶奶60多岁了，可是奶奶每天坚持装东西用环保袋，一是为了环保，因为一只塑料袋就可污染一块很大的土地，而且塑料袋埋在土里的话就要过好几十年的时间。二呢！是塑料袋拧重的东西会破，而环保袋是不会破的。真是一举两的。
爷爷：节约用水。
我爷爷每天都在节约用水，比如说：洗澡水、洗脸水、洗菜水和洗衣服水都用来冲厕所的，我家的卫生间有两个桶，里面全是水，都是爷爷拿来冲厕所的，我爷爷的办法好吧！
爸爸妈妈：植树造林
我爸爸妈妈在农村生活，现在农村的发展越来越好，而树木越来越少了，爸爸妈妈呢！他们在山上的某些地方种了许许多多树苗，真希望小树苗快快长大来保卫我们美好的家园！美化环境。
我：节约用电
哎！终于轮到我了。我在城里读书，每天都会看到各种各样的小店外的招牌上装的都是闪闪发亮的电灯泡，显得格外漂亮，不过一定要节约用电，灯泡要换上节能灯，这样可以省许多电了，我的主意不错吧！哦！对了！还有老师，接着看吧！
老师：环保书包
我们班的章老师就是几乎天天教育我们一定要环保。环保袋！刚才不是说了么？哈哈！刚才虽然说过，但是老师的用法不同，只是装东西一样而已，章老师的儿子上一年级课桌太小，书包根本放不下去，章老师就用旧衣服做了一个小书包，废品利用，环保。
看！我家的环保意识很强吧！另一方面也行动起来。为自己定制一个“低碳计划”表。
多种树：一棵每年就可吸二氧化碳250kg，所以多种增加土壤植被。
走楼梯，不要坐电梯：现在有许多人都在坐电梯，不再走楼梯。虽然坐电梯是一种“享受”，但也是一种浪费。同时，走楼梯还可以减肥呢！
少开私家车：提醒爸爸少开车，开车用掉100公升汽油，会排出二氧化碳270kg！所以要少开车，多步行。
少吃肉：少吃肉，有人就奇怪少吃肉跟低碳有什么关系？因为吃肉，特别是牛肉。牛在生长的过程中，会产生大量温室气体，生产1kg牛肉，会产生3*kg的二氧化碳，所以爱吃牛肉的人不要吃太多哦！
使用省电灯泡：11瓦的节能灯就相当于80瓦白炽灯的亮度，使用寿命比白炽灯长6到8倍。

在茫茫宇宙中，有一颗美丽的星球——地球。可现在，这美丽的星球上却出现了大面积的旱灾!!为了地球，我们是否想过要保护地球，珍惜水资源呢?
大家别看地球上的水储量有138.6亿亿立方米，可其中咸水就占了97.5%，淡水却只有2.5%。然而，在这些淡水之中又有*69%被冻在地球的两极地带，3%储存在地下含水层和永久的冻土之中。另外，湖泊、河流、土壤中所容纳的淡水只占淡水储量的0.33%。也就是说，地球上仅有100万亿立方米的水来维系生命循环与代谢的地球总水量!

车子开得挺快，窗外的风景很快错过，但我的内心却久久不能*静下来。早前也曾听闻“白色垃圾”寿命之长，那日一见果然不同凡响，在黑土中静静地隐藏了这么多年，终有一天它们又重新回到地面上，那破损的袋子不就正如挑衅者们丑陋的嘴脸么?想我泱泱大国，上下五千年的光辉历程，如今国人素质却如此低下，这该是多大的悲哀?
也许今天我们还有资本可以去浪费，可以去破坏，但我们的下一代呢，祖国的未来呢?难道当真要让他们的眼泪成为这浩瀚星球的最后一滴水么?
古人云“亡羊补牢，为时晚矣”，同样，等到发现资源不足使用，再去提醒大家保护环境，那就真的太晚了。所以，同学们，保护环境从你我做起，从身边点滴小事做起。
一.尽量少制造垃圾。例如，去超市购物时自己带上购物袋，既省钱又方便。再如，避免使用一次性纸杯。众所周知，木材是纸的源材料，树木对人类的保护意义尤为重大，它可以为我们抵挡沙尘暴、龙卷风等一些不可抗灾。
二.尽己之能，拯救环境。作为当代学生的我们应为社会各界做好表率，例如，组织同学利用周末宣传环境保护的重要性，呼吁大家行动起来，保持我们的地球。我们也可以利用节假日组织班级去街道、广场等公共场所清理垃圾，既能加强环保意识，有可以减轻环卫工人的负担。

一上课，教师先让我们把自我地面上的纸捡净，然后说一说看到地上有白纸片应当怎样办“捡起来扔进附*的垃圾桶里！”全班几乎是异口同声。说是这么说，可是在现实生活中谁做到了谁见到白纸片把它捡起来了不都是装作没看见，上去狠狠地踩上一脚或把纸偷偷地踹到过道踢到前后同学桌子底下吗
纸是多么的重要，纸是经过树木砍伐提炼出来的，一颗树又能制造出多少张纸如果一人撕下一张纸，那*十三亿人民就会撕下十三亿张纸，这是一个多么庞大的数字呀！保护环境更重要，在外国“请不要随地吐痰，请不要乱扔纸屑”这样的语句都是汉语。
我们这个“礼貌之邦”的素质又何在我们在别的国家心目中怎是如此的形象所以，保护环境，从我做起；保护坏境，从一点一滴的小事做起。
如果世界上没有垃圾纸屑，有许多的树，那将会减少多少的灾难；如果一个学校没有纸屑，那会给人一种怎样舒畅、愉悦的心境；如果一个班级里没有纸屑，那一天的学*生活又是多么的愉快和简便呀！所以，我们应当捡起地上的“白纸片”保护我们的“白纸片（树）”保存我们的“白纸片（森林）”。我想：以后看见地面上有纸屑和垃圾等杂物，我必须要主动捡起来，扔进附*的垃圾桶里，如果没有就放进口袋里带回家。将地上的白纸片好好地节俭、利用、回收和管理。

我是来自904班的高明正，今天我做**下演讲的主题是“保护环境，从我做起。”
下面先来看一个时事焦点。
4月13日早，日本*通过阁僚会议，决定向太*洋排放地震后福岛第一核电站自20xx年以来泄漏的核废水。虽然日方一再宣称核废水中的放射性物质含量低于国际标准，不会对人体造成危害。但事实上，废水中所含的大量氚等物质对于海洋生态乃至地球环境，从远期看来仍有着难以预料的潜在危害。此举一出，引起国际社会公愤。日方为短期利益便宜行事，严重违背了国际公认的环境保护原则，这将贻害无穷。
树立意识
而提到“环境保护”，便不得不提一个著名的日子——世界地球日。地球日设立于1970年4月22日，它的宗旨是唤起公众对自然环境的关注，并鼓励全世界人类共同行动起来，参与保护环境、拯救地球的行动。而今年的世界地球日降落在本周四。
那么，在地球日来临之际，作为中学生的我们可以做些什么呢？首先要树立意识，我们所有人都生活在地球上，如果不注意环境的保护，终归将自食环境受污染、生活受影响的恶果。
从小事做起
再者，从小事做起：扔垃圾前先分类、不乱倒生活废水……这些“环保”举动因为实在太小、小得琐碎，仿佛做了也看不出环境的显著改善。可是，想想当初，环境不也正是这般，你乱扔一个垃圾，我乱倒一盆废水，而成为如今这副千疮百孔的样子吗？所以，不要轻视“小事”的力量，把环保“小事”做好，我们照样能改善环境。
那么，我们具体可以做些什么呢？
出行时，我们可以多乘公共交通、少乘私家车；学*时，我们可以一张纸两面利用；生活中，我们能做的就更多了：散步时不踩草坪，用完后及时关水关电，做好垃圾分类……

在不远的从前，南美洲有一种鸽子叫候鸽，数量庞大，当几十亿只鸽子飞过森林时，整个天空都被盖住了，但因为人们发现其食用价值后肆意捕杀，加上环境的恶化、森林的减少，鸽子在一天天的减少，1920_年，最后一只候鸽在动物园的笼中死去，这种美丽的鸟儿彻底灭绝了。当时美国降半旗致哀。
人类的这种肆意破坏环境的行为不仅能使动物绝种，也能使气候剧变。酸雨、全球变暖、海*面上升、浮冰融化、冰架崩塌、沙尘暴……这些自然灾害，全部都是人类的“杰作”。大家知道全球变暖的过程中，1度需要什么代价吗?美国科学家经过实验论证，得出一个惊人的结论：地球*均温度上升1度，会使农作物大量的减产;极地上升2度，融化的水将会淹没地球90%的土地;上升3度，地球上的一切生态系统都将崩溃。
那么，造成气候剧变的原因是什么呢?是因为人们肆意砍伐森林、使土地荒芜，人们肆意捕杀，使动物灭绝。人们建起一座座化工厂，化工厂的废气可以“钻”开臭氧层，使阳光中的紫外线直接照到地球的表面，能造**中暑、患上皮肤癌、加速冰融化等严重的后果。
对于环境保护，我们能做些什么?下面，我来告诉大家几点我们能做到的措施：
第一、尽量不要使用一次性筷子，使用一次性筷子过多，会导致人们更加努力的砍伐树木。
第二、节约水电，水龙头用过后要关紧，因为一个滴水的水龙头半个小时就可浪费1.8升的水。电灯用后及时关闭，这样既可防止电能浪费，又能避免发生火灾。
第三、不要乱丢废电池、塑料瓶等物品。一节电池中的化学废料就可使一*方米的土地失去利用价值。

见到街上的树木都变“秃头”了，根上还有被砍过的痕迹。清洁工阿姨刚扫干净的街道上有出现了一层厚厚的灰尘。前几天新闻还说某些地区还遭受洪水、风沙的袭击呢!这就说明了人类现在正忙着砍伐树木，把我们的“守护神”给一棵棵地砍掉了。
我曾在报纸上看过一条新闻：*在206个国家中，环保能力排在131位。131，这是个多么落后的.数字啊!我倡议大家在每年的植树节里带动大家到山上植树，来保护我们的国家。因为每片叶子都能释放出我们人类所需要的氧气，让我们能够在美好的世界上幸福地生活着。

瞧!如果不保护环境，大自然母亲也将会发怒，比如5.12大地震，日本大地震，泥石流灾害等，在这过程中，有多少人失去的亲人，失去了无法估量的财产，这不是大自然对人类的惩罚吗?
我们身边触目惊心的事例历历在目，如;路边的小树被折，小草被践踏，小花被采摘，难道他们不痛，不伤心吗?乱砍滥伐，无节制的开采矿产资源。人们就是这样，无所事事的破坏生态*衡。作为小学生，我们应该从身边做起，从小事做起;保护花草树木，不乱丢垃圾，不使用一次性筷子，尽自己一份微薄之力。
在此我呼吁大家;请保护环境，只有这样才是最终保护了人类自己!因为地球只有一个，人类不能克隆。

提起环保，大家可能会想起我们伟大无私的地球妈妈，因为地球妈妈正因人类的不环保而日益衰老，还得了重病。你们说认为人类是个大孝子吗?不，不是，因为他们亲手让自己的母亲得重病，而且日益衰老，但是人类还不认错，不过，还有一些人类知错就改并且到处宣传，使地球妈妈早点康复。在这里我向大家提几条环保建议，也顺便也说说对环境的看法：
1、既然是环境保护，当然要先搞绿化了。希望全世界每个人争取每年种植一棵树，多搞一些退耕还林的宣传活动。
2、减少战争，减少核污染，因为核武器有非常强的核辐射，会致人严重疾病和造成严重的环境污染。
3、力争20xx年底，所有的汽车全部更换成太阳能汽车，以减少汽车的尾气。
4、把工厂排出的污水进行净化，再流向庄稼或河流，并且不乱排废气，以减少污染。
5、开播一个专门的环保教育频道，对全世界的地球居民进行环保教育。
6、不要无节制的大肆开采资源，以导致资源枯竭。

We live in the world every day. We eat food, drink water, wear clothes, watch TV, use computers and so on. We are producing waste every moment.
Generally speaking, there are four sorts of waste. They are material waste, organic waste, inorganic waste and poisonous & harmful waste. Now, we are going to talk about each sort of waste one by one.
Material waste: it means the waste of substance or things from which something else can be made. For example, people throw away the used metal products and buy a new one, so the old metal waste accumulates. At last, they become waste. For example, when people finish reading newspaper, the paper will become waste. When the glass is broken, it also becomes waste. Nobody wants to use a broken window or drink with a broken glass or wear a pair of broken glasses.
Once it is broken, it becomes waste. The rate of using plastics is increasing day by day. People use plastic bags because they are convenient. When they get home, they throw the plastics way, paying no attention to the environment. The more convenience plastics brings to us, the more plastic waste is produced. This is called “white pollution” as most plastics are white. Some of our products we use every day are made of rubber, just like the tyres and the bottom part of our shoes. It’s true that rubber plays an important role in our life. However, it also brings us some trouble when it has been used for a long time and becomes old. The old tyres become waste because it can’t break down by nature. This is really a big problem.
do you often use batteries? then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? and just one simple battery can pollute as much water as a person can drink in his whole life. the facts and figures are amazing. so would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? if possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more. sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.
we, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. for example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. it is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. in the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. at the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. all of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.
we should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “be kind to the river. be good to the trees. smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze. be friendly to nature, and nature will be friendly to you!”

Have you ever thrown any litter onto the ground?Have you ever drawn pictures on public walls?Have you ever spat in a public place ? Have you ever cut down trees?If your answers are "No", it means that you have already helped protect our environment.
It is our duty to keep our envionment clean and tidy. You might ask yourself,"Have I ever picked up some rubbish and thrown it into a dustbin?Have I ever collected waste paper or bottles for recycling?Have I ever planted any trees or flowers in or near my neighbourhood?"If your answers are"Yes" , it means that you have already done something useful to improve the environment.

Environment - how can we help protect it?
Our planet is in trouble!Almost every day we seem to hear of yet another problem affecting the environment - and what a list of problems!- pollution,acid rain,global warming,the destruction of rainforests and other wild habitats,the decline and extinction of thousands of species of animals and plants.and so on.
Nowadays,most of us know that these threats exist and that humans have caused them.Many of us are very worried about the future of our planet and unless we can find a way of solving the problems we have made then the environment will suffer even more.
It all sounds so depressing - but we certainly mustn't despair!Every one of us,whatever age we are,can do something to help slow down and reverse some of the damage.We cannot leave the problem-solving entirely to the experts - we all have a responsibility for our environment.We must learn to live in a sustainable way i.e.learn to use our natural resources which include air,freshwater,forests,wildlife,farmland and seas without damaging them.As populations expand and lifestyles change,we must keep the World in good condition so that future generations will have the same natural resources that we have.
Here are just a few ideas to help you to do something to protect our environment.

A lot of plastic bags always float on it summmer we have to go far away from the village to swim.
What causes this? Who is the devil?It’s the human ourselves. I have got to known from a book rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields and damages the earth’s surface pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages our health. The adults often say "The body is capital." But why are they able to make woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life ?

low-carbon is one of the most popular buzz-words in this year. Not only China but all countries focus on the topic of low-carbon.
Here, Id like to share my own experience abroad with you. Several years ago, I was very lucky to he an opportunity to live in the Australia about half a month. During that time, Not only did I enjoy the beautiful natural scenery there, but also I appreciated the peoples active way of protecting their environment. Now, whenever the environment protection is mentioned, the beautiful scenery of Australia will arise in my mind, white clouds flying across the blue sky, green grassplot sprinkled with colorful flowers and lovely squirrels playing happily among the trees.
As a citizen of China, if everyone can actively protect the environment in our daily life and if we would like to reduce our carbon footprint, the scenery of blue sky, green grass and lovely animals in Australia will appear in China, even in HeFei.
But I totally support the view, that is to say, Emotion without action is irrelevant! Do you unplug electronics after you use them? Do you switch off everything before you go to sleep? Do you adjust your TV screen a bit dimmer to se energy? Do you re-use water for different activities around the house? Each of these seemingly insignificant adjustments in your daily life can make a difference in sing the environment of tomorrow.

Chaina has put a ban on the use of much thinner plastic bags starting on June 1,rding to the ban people are not allowed to use super-thin plastic bags any all the supermarkets are forbidden to provide customers the plastic bags for free. If the customers need a piastic bag, they must pay for it.
I think the ban is good for us, and it can protect our environment. As we all know, the plastic bags can cause the white pollution and pollute soli and water. Besides, producing plastic bags can waste much energy and make our earth worse.
So we should firmly carry out the ban sa that we can improve our environment. From now no, we should encourage our families and friends to use cloth bags or baskets. We mustn't litter the rubbish. And we should recycle plastic bottles, solt drink cans, and so on. I'm sure we can make our environment better.
