Seeing a doctor is the last thing I want to do. I hate waiting long hours in a hospital，only to spend five minutes with an indifferent doctor. Most of them just ask a few questions and then give you a prescription.
In my opinion，they are more like machines than sym-pathetic people. I had a severe pain in my right shoulder a few months ago. I had no choice but to see a doctor. To my surprise，the doctor was very kind. He asked me some questions and thoroughly examined my shoulder. He said I would have to take some medicine for two months and get plenty of rest.
Now I have fully recovered and feel great. Although I was at first reluctant，Im glad I went to see the doctor.
Last Friday afternoon， when I was playing football with my friends， it began to rain. We were so interested in playing that nobody was willing to go back home. The next day， I had a bad headache and had to lie in bed. In the afternoon， I got a high fever. My mother took me to the hospital. The doctor gave me some medicine and advised me to drink more water and have a good rest. He told me not to play in the rain any more. I took the doctors advice and now I feel much better.
These days I dont feel quite well. I have lost my appetite for any food. During the day I often feel dizzy， and at night I suffer from insomnis accompanied by headache. To make things still worse， I am easy to catch cold， which gives me a sore throat and gets me constantly sneezing and coughing.
Yesterday I went to the hospital of our university to see a doctor. The doctor gave me a thorough examination after I told him all my symptoms. He listened to my chest with a stethoscope. Then he asked me to lie down to feel and touch my stomach. After that be measured my blood pressure and asked me to get my lungs X-rayed.
When all these finished， the doctor made a diagnosis about my case and told me about it：
"Well， there is nothing the matter with you. Your heart， lungs and liver are all right， but you are rather rundown. You have been working too hard. You know you cant burn the candle at both ends. I advise you to have a real rest and take some physical exercise."
With a relief I left the hospital， thinking how to follow the doctors advice in order to have a quick recovery.

Learning English just like learning any other language, is hard work so my first advice is to spend much time practicing using English every day. Besides, we should listen to the teacher and take notes carefully in class. Go over what is learnt regularly and finish doing our homework carefully. Listen to English radio programmes, read English stories and newspapers, watch English films and TV programmes ,keep a diary in English and attend English debbates and speech contests.
