good morning, ladies and gentlemen,
last summer, i volunteered(动词) to work as an english teacher in a primary school for children of migrant workers. to be accurate, i didn't volunteer. i was dragged in literally. when my friends first hit upon the idea of this project. i was all against it. 'what?' to spend my vacation standing in the heat yelling at a bunch of nine-year-olds who couldn't even speak proper mandarin chinese? and besides. there's no pay for my toil. no. i am definitely not going. my friends twisted my arms to have me join them.
unexpectedly，the first lesson i taught turned out a lesson for me. the moment i stepped into the shabby classroom. i was touched by the loud, respectful voices in unison. 'good morning teacher !' instead of fooling around, the children were thirsty for knowledge and efficient in absorbing everything i was able to give them. this made me despise myself for i hadn't even prepared for the class. during the break. i leaned over the squeaky desk, chatting with a sweaty boy in the front row. "without air-conditioning, it's really hot here. are you tired?" not at all. said he. shaking his head. it's fine here. my dad builds asphalt roads. that is really tiring and hot.
as summer advanced. my enthusiasm as a teacher grew. i prepared my lesson carefully and even used some methods my teachers used. i organized many group activities to give the kids fun. strangely enough the heat was also becoming less and less unbearable. soon, my one-month volunnteer came to an end. when i was leaving my last class, i turned back and saw smiling faces and waving hands. never before had i ever had such a feeling of sadness. which was, nevertheless, mixed with a sense of enrichment, fulfillment and happiness. i was paid for my work, am*** paid, not in terms of money, but something more valuable.

why is goal-setting important? because goals can help you do and experience every meaningful thing you hope for in life. instead of letting life happen to you goals allow you to make your life happen.
successful people have visions of what their life should be and they set lots of goals both sbort-term and long-range to help them realize the visions. by setting goals you are taking control of your life. it is like having a map to show where you want to go. a driver with an aim arrives at the destination without any waste of time or wrong turns.
on the contrary a driver with no aim drives aimlessly around never getting anywhere and just using up gas and oil. winners in life set goals and follow through on them. they decide what they want and then get there by making plans and setting goals.
goals ara not difficult to set and they are not difficult to reach. it is up to you to find out what your goals ideals and visions really are. with a clear direction and with certain plans you will straightly get what you want.
without a goal you have to live a passive life. you do not know where to go what you want and why you are listless. then your life be comes dull and meaningless just like the dead water in a muddy lake.

Lan and Fred were boys. They were both twelve years old, and they were in the same class in their school. Last Friday afternoon they had a fight in class, and their teacher was very angry. I want to go from the east to west, from the north all the way down to the south! I have a dream, that one day I can travel and see my country with my family and friends! If that is not possible, seeing my country on my own is good enough also. If I can fulfill all three of my dreams in life, then God can take me away. I would be happy, and l would have lived a full and prosperous life.

Good morning, it's my honor to stand here and give you this speech about dreams. There I want to start my speech with two short stories.
The first story happened when I was in primary school, I wrote in my composition that my dream was to be a teacher when I grew up. Meanwhile, what my classmates wrote about their dreams was that he or she wanted to be a doctor, a scientist or an astronaut.
The second story happened at my first year in university. At the careers planning class, when the teacher asked about our dreams, one of my classmates stood up and said, “I want to be a farmer, because I grow up in a farmer's family and I love to be engaged in agriculture.” When he sat down, everyone clapped.
These two stories happened during my growth process, from which I got my understanding of dreams. Nowadays, the employment of college students is becoming more and more of a problem. According to statistics, about 30% of graduate students can't find a job after graduation. These college student who cannot find jobs are at their worst. Why college graduates have difficulty finding jobs? Why is it a big problem that puzzled people for years?
The reason for it is various. The main reason has the following points: Firstly, the number of the college student is increasing faster and faster these years. In addition, many colleges and universities fail to adapt their courses to the development of economy.

good morning ladies and gentlemen. today i’m very glad to be here with you to share my stories and opinions about reading. i love reading from the bottom of my heart. and i do learn a lot from books. i know the wonderful stories of great heroes in history, secrets of nature, mysteries of ufo and our universe. to me , books are like a faithful friend, always around me , giving me enjoyment and wisdom.
i remember when i was in primary school, ten or eleven years old, my father borrowed some books from the library in his school. those were among the greatest works of the world, including abrabian nights、the legend of deification, journey to the west, and the romance of the three kingdoms. these books were all written in ancient chinese characters but i tried to read the heavy books and were dee*** attracted. from then on, i spared every minute to read whatever i could get. whenever i got a new book, i kept reading until i finished it despite time and place. i read books even in class or just a few minutes before the exams. in my mind, there is always an unforgettable scene: lying in bed, nervous but excited, my friend and i read a book together in the weak light of a flashlight , with a quilt on us, in order not to be blamed by parents. all my classmates thought i was crazy and gave me a nickname “bookworm”. so you can understand why i got my eyes shortsighted.
till now, i still like reading as i used to. and i’m very pleased to see that my ten-year-old son loves reading just like me. i have bought him many books. whenever you come into my home, you can find books in every corner. but the place where my son and i enjoy reading most is in the toilet. so it often happens in the morning: one is in the toilet reading something comfortably, while another walking outside , shouting. for my age, i like to read magazines or short stories to get relaxation as well as inspiration.
today we live in a world of prosperity. never before have we faced so many temptation from the outside world. never before have we had so many chances to enjoy our lives. we drive rather than walking; we go online to chat with people we’ve never met before instead of talking to friends around us. but there’s always something that cannot be replaced and forgotten., such as books. so i will allow myself to continue the journey in the ocean of books until the very end of my life.
finally, i’d like to end my speech with a great philosopher, writer and thinker, francis bacon’s famous saying: reading makes a full man. studies serve for delight, for ornament, and for ability.

My definition of success
Today I am very glad to be here to share with you my ideas of success. What is success? It is what everyone is longing for.Sometimes success would be rather simple. Winning a game is success; getting a high grade in the exam is success; making a new friend is success; even now I am standing here giving my speech is somehow also success.
However, as a person’s whole life is concerned, success becomes very complicated. Is fortune success? Is fame success? Is high social status success? No, I don’t think so. I believe success is the realization of people’s hopes and ideals.Nowadays, in the modern society there are many people
who are regarded as the successful. And the most obvious characteristics of hem are money, high position and luxurious life. So most people believe that s success and all that they do is for this purpose. But the problem is wether it is real success. We all know there are always more money, higher position and better condition in front of us. If we keep chasing them, where is the end? What will satisfy us at last? Therefore, we can see, to get the real Success we must need something inside, which is the realization of people’ hopes and ideals.
Different people have different ideas about success; cause people’s hopes and ideas vary from one another. But I am sure every success is dear to everybody, cause it is not easy to come by, cause in the process of our striving for success, we got both our body and soul tempted, meanwhile we are enlightened by the most valuable qualities of human beings: love, patient, courage and sense of responsibility. These are the best treasures. So now I am very proud that I have this opportunity to stand here speaking to all of you. It is my success, cause I raise up to challenge my hope.

Almost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying：A young idler，an old beggar. Throughout history，we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true.
It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life，during which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition，one is less likely to be under great pressure from career，family and health problems when young. Therefore，a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life.
Of course，we all know：no pains，no gains. If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us，it is impossible to achieve any goals. 没有漂亮的外表不要紧，更重要的是你要有漂亮的内心，不要沉溺于那些伪装的酷和另类，那并不能成为值得你骄傲的东西，它们只是无事可做的人拿来放任自己无事可做的借口。浮躁夸张的与众不同不如朴素深沉的超凡脱俗。所以走路的时候，你要大胆的向前，不是因为你很丑但你很温柔，而是你相信，相信自己*凡的脚步终会蹋出一条不*凡的出路。
所以，请你自信！！！

而非常悲观，整日垂头度日。有一天，她到商场去买了一个非常漂亮的蝴蝶结戴在了头上，在服务员的啧啧赞叹中，她满意而自信地昂起头跑出了商场，跑到了同学中。同学们夸奖她抬头的样子可真美。她以为是美丽的蝴蝶结给她带来的美丽，所以就下意识地去摸她头上的蝴蝶结，然而她并没有摸到，那是因为她兴奋地跑出商场门口时蝴蝶结就已经掉在地上了，她的美是自信支撑起的昂首挺胸，是自信带给她的矫健步伐。
自信真可谓是一种美丽的装饰啊，她可以让普通变得魅力四射，也可以让*凡变得万丈光芒。不是吗，正因为有了自信，才有了晏子使楚佳话流传；正因为有了自信，才有了毛遂自荐千古传颂。诸如此类，比比皆是。 自信，真的是一种美丽的装饰，有了它的装点，人间拥有这么多的美丽，有了它的装点，世界拥有这么多的美好。

再给大家讲个故事，有一个小男孩，从小很自卑，因为他口齿不清，还有点结巴，所以这自卑的阴云一直笼罩着他。他不敢和别人交流，很少说话。终于有一天，他不甘于现状，想要找回自信。他开始训练自己，与他人交流。一开始，也有很多人泼他冷水，但他不服气，他自信自己能做好。于是渐渐的，他说话越来越流畅，也不再怯场，他找回了骨子里的自信，变得越来越擅长与人交流。自信带给了他力量。他是谁呢？他现在正在台上给你们演讲。
我们从中可知：自信是超越自卑的动因，自信又是超越自卑的果实。也许有很多同学在许多方面会自卑，但如果我们有了自信，那就是在给自己机会，如果自卑，那就绝对没有机会！我们需要机会与机遇，我们就必须自信地等待

小时候，我出生在一个富裕的家庭。父母虽然是普通农民，但他们的勤劳善良让我有了无忧无虑的童年。然而，那天出了事故，一切都变了。人们常说：“天有不测风云，人各有志”。那是十几年前的第一个月，在我生日的那天晚上，我得到了一个晴天霹雳的坏消息：父亲因为一次意外失去了左臂，从这样的一个夜晚开始，我在幼小的心灵中播下了坚强的种子！
突如其来的变化让我的家人陷入悲痛之中。爸爸每天吃很多药，妈妈苍白的脸让我很难过。所以，我一直想用自己的力量为这个家做点什么。从那以后，爸爸的洗衣、剪指甲……都是我做的！我学会了做所有的家务，而其他人仍然在父母的双重照顾下长大。就这样，慢慢的，我开始承担起家里的重活。不知道什么时候才能看到这一天的“阳光”，但我知道成长的艰辛已经为它奠定了基础。
那年夏天，妈妈又得了重病，越来越严重。父亲攒了些钱，最后决定带母亲去鞍山看病。由于当时哥哥还在上大学，家里的一切都落在了我的肩上。每天都要上学，在家喂猪喂几十只鸡。我必须做作业和做饭。虽然我很累，但我知道我必须坚持，因为不仅我的父亲，我的母亲都需要一个依靠的灵魂。我想成为一个坚强的孩子。让他们感到欣慰。但是，天灾人祸是无法避免的。一场无情的大雨从蘑菇棚里倾泻而下，父母们努力工作以求摆脱困境。中午放学回来，我简直不敢相信这一切。所有的细菌都起泡了，意味着这半年的辛苦和一万多块钱都白费了，眼泪和雨水混在一起，站在雨中真的很茫然。但冷静下来后，我向邻居求助，希望尽可能挽回一些损失。我和来帮忙的邻居一起工作。让雨水打湿他的衣服。一双小手被木板切开。然而，我根本无法照顾它。最后，经过我的努力，父母回来的时候，我挽回了一大半的损失。
从上小学那天起，我就是最后一个交学费的。但是我从来没有抱怨过，因为我知道父亲在尽最大努力不让我辍学。当然，每当我处于最困难的时候，我也想退学，但是当我想到父母最大的希望，我和哥哥就能上大学。为了不辜负父母的期望，我放弃了这个想法，我更加珍惜这个难得的学*机会，因为我知道这个机会来之不易。
每年寒暑假，我都在不同的地方工作。虽然有时候会被老板批评，但我明白这也是一种成长的方式。每天回家都会努力的笑着告诉爸妈我不累，但是再坚强也会在角落偷偷哭。哭过之后，我会给父母留下一张笑脸。把眼泪咽到肚子里，告诉自己明天会更好。也许你不知道，每次我把打工的钱交到父母手里，真的有一种同龄人感受不到的成功感。所以在学*的时候，我会克服自己的弱点，努力提高成绩。除了工作和做家务，我更注重学*。虽然工作了一整天拖着疲惫的身体回家，但我也坚持学*到深夜。今年中考，考上了我梦寐以求的岫岩高中。进入高中后，我更加注重学*，因为对我来说，学*上的这个难度根本不算什么。这次考试，我考进了全校100名学生的名单，这是我对父母最好的奖励。看着父母的笑容，我觉得比以往任何时候都开心。我能问心无愧，对得起父母养育我的艰辛。
每个人的人生都是不一样的，所以我不会抱怨自己过早的承受了人生的痛苦。虽然，我也羡慕同龄人的华丽服饰和无忧无虑的生活……我也渴望成长的快乐，但我知道，草木的盛开是它成长的必经之路。我相信在我的生命中会有那么一个瞬间，它会美丽的绽放，但它会在后面到来，我坚信在暴风雨过后，我会看到更美丽的彩虹！

We Are The World ,We Are The Future
Someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. I don’t know who wrote these words, but I’ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. We are all in the position of the farmers. If we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. If we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.
We are young. “How to spend the youth?” It is a meaningful question. To answer it, first I have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” Youth is not a time of life, it’s a state of mind. It’s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. It’s the matter of the will. It’s the freshneof the deep spring of life.
A poet said “To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. Several days ago, I had a chance to listen to a lecture. I learnt a lot there. I’d like to share it with all of you. Let’s show our right palms. We can see three lines that show how our er and life is. I have a short line of life.
What about yours? I wondered whether we could see our future in this way. Well, let’s make a fist. Where is our future?
Where is our love, career, and life? Tell , it is in our hands. It is held in ourselves.
We all want the future to be better than the past. But the future can go better itself. Don’t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. From the past, we’ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. We’ve learnt that we can’t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. Failure doesn’t mean you don’t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. Failure doesn’t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.
As what I said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. The past has gone. Nothing we do will change it. But the future is in front of us. Believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. And from today on, let’s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “We are the world, we are the future.”

As everyone knows,English is very important today.It has been used everywhere in the world.It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well,we will have more chance to succeed.Because more and more people have taken notice of it,the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.
But for myself,I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness,but also because of my love for it.When I learn English, I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world.When I read English novels,I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation.When I speak English, I can feel the confident from my words.When I write English,I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...
I love English,it gives me a colorful dream.I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English, I can make friends with many people from different contries.I can see many places of great intrests.I dream that I can go to London,because it is the birth place of English.
I also want to use my good English to introduce our great places to the English spoken people,I hope that they can love our country like us.
I know, Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study, one day I can speak English very well.
If you want to be loved, you should learn to love and be lovable. So I believe as I love English everyday , it will love me too.
I am sure that I will realize my dream one day!

I believe in our future
Honorable Judges, fellow students:
Good afternoon!
Recently, ther is a heated debate in our society. The college students are the beneficiaries of a rare privilege, who receive exceptional education at extraordinary places. But will we be able to face the challenge and support ourselves against all odds? Will we be able to better the lives of others? Will we be able to accept the responsibility of building the future of our country?
The cynics say the college students are the pampered lost generation, which would cringe at the slightest discomfort. But the cynics are wrong. The college students I see are eagerly learning about how to live independently. We help each other clean the dormitory, go shopping and bargain together, and take part time jobs to supplement our pocket money.
The cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. But again, the cynics are wrong. We care dee*** for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. Last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
As college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. We all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. I believe in all my fellow classmates. Though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. I believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. We are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. I believe in our future.

Youth
Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of the emotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. This often existsin a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . Nobody grows old merely by a number of years . We grow old by deserting our ideals.
Years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul .Worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .
Whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ‘s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what’s next and the joy of the game of living . In the center of your heart and my heart there’s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .
When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.

青春不是指岁月，而是指心态。粉嫩的脸，红润的唇，矫健的膝并不是青春。青春表现在意志的坚强与懦弱。想象的丰富与苍白、情感的充沛与贫乏等方面。青春是生命深处清泉的喷涌。青春是追求。只有当勇气盖过怯弱、进取压倒苟安之时，青春才存在。果如此，则60见之长者比20岁之少年更具青春活力。仅仅岁月的流逝并不能使他们衰老。而一旦抛弃理想和信念，则垂垂老也。
岁月只能使皮肤起皱。而一旦丧失生活的激情，则连灵魂枯老，使人生枯如死水，毫无活力。
60岁长者也好，16岁少年也罢，每个人的内心深处都渴望奇迹，都如孩子一般眨着期待的双眼，期待着下一次，期待着生活的情趣，你我灵魂深处都有一座无线电中转站------只有你我年轻，则总能听到希望的呼唤，总能发出喜悦的欢呼，总能传达勇气的讯号，总能表现出青春的活力………
一旦青春的天线倒下，你的灵魂即为玩世不恭之雪、悲观厌世之冰覆盖;即使你年方20.其实你已垂垂老也。而只要你青春的天线高高耸起，就可以随时接收到乐观的电波-----即使你年过八旬，行将就木，而你却仍然拥有青春，你仍然年轻。
