陈规把全村有钱人家都跑遍了也没卖出几双。毕竟这种摆设品人们的认识还不够。陈规也就只好摆在路边一边聊天一边叫卖了。这时过来个年轻人，端详着把玩着就套在脚上并且想站起来。陈规讽刺的说：“你多大啊！”意思是说你怎么做出这么幼稚的事情呢？年轻人只好讪讪的走了。年轻人回到家越想越觉得应该试试。第二天满怀希望的来到鞋摊边，又被陈规奚落了一番。可年轻人一直不死心，偷偷的通过别的渠道终于买了一双鞋穿在脚上。感觉虽然鞋子不合脚，但却比跪着走强多了。
年轻人美滋滋的出去体验自己新奇想法带来的快乐。这时却遭到以陈规为首的所有人的嘲讽。年轻人的行为被告到村长哪里。村长来到年轻人家，年轻人兴奋的说：“村长我正要找你呢，我穿的这个鞋不太合脚，我想改一改”。村长说：“你这种走路方式已经不合法，你看咱们村谁这么走路，你还要私自改动！限你马上脱下鞋作为工艺品摆在家里，以后不许穿在脚上出门”。村长走后年轻人沉默了，是啊，咱们这个村还没有法律规定允许呢，再说自己站起来走路一下比别人高出那么多，会给人压抑感，显得不太尊重别人，所以招人嫉恨讨厌。自己也不太方便，因为很多地方都是按跪着的'标准弄的。想着想着只好探口气的把鞋子拖下来摆在箱柜上。
这时陈规也来到年轻人家苦口婆心的劝说着：“不要异想天开，我们好几代人都是这么跪着走的”。为了表示自己的坚定立场陈规割掉了自己的双脚。因为这个村一直是跪着走路的所以脚一直没用过，时间一长脚就萎缩了，并且还很是碍事就一直有割掉的*俗就如同日本人割阑尾一样。
时间就这么一天天的过去了，年轻人心里一直很烦闷，自己在想确实穿鞋走路比跪着走路舒服多了，可为什么就没有人愿意尝试去改变呢？想着想着自己就穿上鞋跑了出去。这时突然狂风大作下起倾盆大雨，由于人们没有防备只好在大雨里挣扎着往回挪。而年轻人却大步飞快的跑回了家。并被几个眼尖的年轻人看到了。从此村里穿鞋的人逐步多了起来。不到一年村里大半的人都穿起了鞋。有一部分还在努力的按摩锻炼想办法恢复脚的功能，只有陈规那几个望鞋兴叹了。

这个寓言是苹果树寓言的更深一层的答案：苹果树为什么会自断经脉，因为它不是为自己而“玩”。
人的动机分两种：内部动机和外部动机。如果按照内部动机去行动，我们就是自己的主人。如果驱使我们的是外部动机，我们就会被外部因素所左右，成为它的奴隶。
在这个寓言中，老人的算计很简单，他将孩子们的内部动机“为自己快乐而玩”变成了外部动机“为得到美分而玩”，而他操纵着美分这个外部因素，所以也操纵了孩子们的行为。寓言中的老人，像不像是你的老板、上司?而美分，像不像是你的工资、奖金等各种各样的外部奖励?
如将外部评价当作参考坐标，我们的情绪就很容易出现波动。因为，外部因素我们控制不了，它很容易偏离我们的内部期望，让我们不满，让我们牢骚满腹。不满和牢骚等负性情绪让我们痛苦，为了减少痛苦，我们就只好降低内部期望，最常见的方法就是减少工作的努力程度。
一个人之所以会形成外部评价体系，最主要的原因是父母喜欢控制他。父母太喜欢使用口头奖惩、物质奖惩等控制孩子，而不去理会孩子自己的动机。久而久之，孩子就忘记了自己的原初动机，做什么都很在乎外部的评价。上学时，他忘记了学*的原初动机———好奇心和学*的快乐;工作后，他又忘记了工作的原初动机———成长的快乐，上司的评价和收入的起伏成了他工作的最大快乐和痛苦的源头。
切记：
外部评价系统经常是一种家族遗传，但你完全可以打破它，从现在开始培育自己的内部评价体系，让学*和工作变成“为自己而玩”。

Nowadays, more and more university graduates complain that graduation does not equate to employment. They experience great difficulties finding satisfactory jobs. What is the cause of this phenomenon
In my opinion, there are four causes:
First, graduates lack experience. They spend most of their time at school studying academic subjects and lack relevant job training. Only after graduation do they realize it's hard to find jobs.

Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20xx Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.
Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them strongly. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?

又过了一年，胡人大举入侵中原，边塞形势骤然吃紧，身强力壮的青年都被征去当了兵，结果十有八九都在战场上送了命。而塞翁的儿子因为是个跛腿，免服兵役，所以他们父子得以避免了这场生离死别的灾难。
这个故事在世代相传的过程中，渐渐地浓缩成了一句成语："塞翁失马，焉知祸福。"它就说明人世间的好事与坏事都不是绝对的，在一定的条件下，坏事可以引出好的结果，好事也可能会引出坏的结果。
唐朝时候，有个地方官叫张延赏，为官处事还算正直清廉。这一日，张延赏接到一桩案子，牵涉到人命，案情严重，非同一般。张延赏按照一贯的作法，十分重视此案，他决心追查到底。于是他传下令来，命捕快们严加侦查搜捕，务必尽快将罪犯捉拿归案。
不料，第二天早晨张延赏来到衙门，正待坐下处理公务，却发现案上有一纸条，上面写着：“送上三万贯，请求不要追查此案。”张延赏一看，脸色顿时一沉，十分气愤。他将纸条扔在地上，历声喝道：“谁敢如此大胆，竟敢拿三万贯钱来买本官清廉，干扰本官办案！”于是他再次下命令，对这一案件加紧缉查，并决心严惩不贷。
再过一日，张延赏上衙，又一次发现公案上放一纸条，上面并无多的内容，单写着一个惊人的数字：“十万贯。”这一下，张延赏几乎被唬住了，他左右为难，看样子，对方的确来头不小。张延赏思考再三，最后决定把这桩案子搁置起来，不再继续追查。张延赏那原有的一点廉正，终于被十万贯“买断”了。
后来，张延赏的一个手下亲信找了个机会，私下里问张延赏说：“大人，为什么将案子放弃不问？”张延赏回答说：“钱到十万之多，便是神仙也能买通的，何况人呢！既然什么人都可以买通，那还有什么事办不到的呢？如果我还执迷不悟继续追查，那将会处处碰壁，除了自找苦吃，自寻灾祸，还会有什么结果呢？所以我也只好停止查办，保住身家性命，保住乌纱前程啊！”
可见，在那个钱可通神的社会里，哪里还有公正，哪里还有王法！
从前，森林里有一匹马，它非常骄傲自大。小动物们都不喜欢和它玩。
有一天，马去散步，在狭窄的小路上，一只小狗挡住了它的去路。马生气地说：“小狗，快走开！我是世界上最珍贵的一匹马，不管是什么马，都不可以和我比。而你呢？你算哪根葱！你是世界上最难看的小狗，任何小狗都能比得上你。现在快点给我走一边去，别再让我看到你！”小狗听了，没说什么，就跑开了。“看来这只狗根本就不敢和我比！”说完，马大摇大摆地走了。

刚开始，马跑在前面，觉得很轻松。骆驼呢，慢吞吞地走着，一点也不着急。马心里想：“哼，跑得这么慢，还敢向我挑战。”不一会，马渐渐地受不了了，沙漠可不比草原，马的优势发挥不起来了。而骆驼，还是慢悠悠地走着。又跑了一段路，马觉得自己快渴死了，它不得不停下来，向骆驼求救，骆驼把它带到绿洲，让它喝够了水，才把马带出了沙漠。
自那一次后，马再也不敢说自己了不起了，它明白，每个人都有自己的长处，当然，也会有短处。所以，它再也不敢骄傲自大。
