Martin Luther King dedicated his life to love and to justice between fellow human beings. He died in the cause of that effort. In this difficult day in this difficult time for the United States it's perhaps well to ask what kind of a nation we are and what direction we want to move in. For those of you who are black -- considering the evidence evidently is that there were white people who were responsible -- you can be filled with bitterness and with hatred and a desire for revenge.
We can move in that direction as a country in greater polarization -- black people amongst blacks and white amongst whites filled with hatred toward one another. Or we can make an effort as Martin Luther King did to understand and to comprehend and replace that violence that stain of bloodshed that has spread across our land with an effort to understand compassion and love.
For those of you who are black and are tempted to fill with -- be filled with hatred and mistrust of the injustice of such an act against all white people I would only say that I can also feel in my own heart the same kind of feeling. I had a member of my family killed but he was killed by a white man.
But we have to make an effort in the United States. We have to make an effort to understand to get beyond or go beyond these rather difficult times.
My favorite poem my -- my favorite poet was Aeschylus. And he once wrote:
Even in our sleep pain which cannot forget
falls drop by drop upon the heart
until in our own despair
against our will
comes wisdom
through the awful grace of God.
What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence and lawlessness but is love and wisdom and compassion toward one another and a feeling of justice toward those who still suffer within our country whether they be white or whether they be black.
So I ask you tonight to return home to say a prayer for the family of Martin Luther King -- yeah it's true -- but more importantly to say a prayer for our own country which all of us love -- a prayer for understanding and that compassion of which I spoke.
We can do well in this country. We will have difficult times. We've had difficult times in the past but we -- and we will have difficult times in the future. It is not the end of violence; it is not the end of lawlessness; and it's not the end of disorder.
But the vast majority of white people and the vast majority of black people in this country want to live together want to improve the quality of our life and want justice for all human beings that abide in our land.
And let's dedicate ourselves to what the Greeks wrote so many years ago: to tame the savageness of man and make gentle the life of this world. Let us dedicate ourselves to that and say a prayer for our country and for our people.

Why we usually make such a mistake and even more mistakes? Activists say it is because of money itself. They think money has changed many things. For example, they think money has changed our way to measure someone’s value in the society. They even regard money as the source of evil. Also, they hate money, but they are wrong, completely wrong.
In my opinion, it is unfair to money. Money is a tool. Well, there’s no denying that we do something harmful with money. But we can’t say money is the source of evil. Just like a hammer, we can use a hammer to kill someone, but can we say a hammer is a devil? It is the same with money.
Money is neither good nor bad itself. It is a mirror, a perfect and important mirror, and a mirror that reflects both the darkneand the brilliance of humanity. In other words, all depend on us.
So, my fellow students, ladies and gentlemen in the future, ask not what we can do for money, ask what money can do for us, ask what money can do to show the brilliance of humanity. Because, we have the future; we are the future

Kids for Kerry is a grassroots organization of kids that support John Kerry, want to help their futures, and get active in politics.
When my parents went to see Teresa Heinz Kerry speak, they told me that she was amazing! -- and that they thought John Kerry would make a great President. I decided to find out more about John Kerry. I talk about what I learned by using my ABCs.
"A" is America. John Kerry is a hero to America, and he will help our futures. He is a great and positive role model.
"B" is Better education. John Kerry wants to make class sizes smaller, so that children get the best part out of learning. He wants to help teachers because being a teacher is educating children, and letting them out into the world to do good things.
"C" is Compassion towards children. John Kerry wants to make sure that health care is not a privilege, but it is something that we can all afford.
This summer, I was supposed to go to my favorite camp. But instead, I decided to go to the John Kerry office every day. Kids can really help!

汉朝时，少年时的匡衡，非常勤奋好学。由于家里很穷，所以他白天必须干许多活，挣钱糊口。只有晚上，他才能坐下来安心读书。
不过，他又买不起蜡烛，天一黑，就无法看书了。匡衡心痛这浪费的时间，内心非常痛苦。他的邻居家里很富有，一到晚上好几间屋子都点起蜡烛，把屋子照得通亮。匡衡有一天鼓起勇气，对邻居说：“我晚上想读书，可买不起蜡烛，能否借用你们家的一寸之地呢?”
邻居一向瞧不起比他们家穷的人，就恶毒地挖苦说：“既然穷得买不起蜡烛，还读什么书呢!”匡衡听后非常气愤，不过他更下定决心，一定要把书读好。

同学们，我想大家都应该知道，当今社会有这样一种现象：有着同样文凭和能力的两名男女大学生，同时到一家公司去应聘，男大学生顺利被聘用，而女大学生却被拒之门外，无人理睬。
这种现象真的让我很难理解，难道女大学生真的就不行吗?这个观念至今仍统治着相当一部分人的头脑，我的身边就有这样一位父亲，自己也是知书达理的人，他的女儿和儿子在同一所大学读书，可女儿上了大二，成绩比上大一时降了几分，于是，他便哀叹起来，：“唉，这女大学生到底是不行!”
亲爱的女大学生们，这话你们听了能不难过吗?作为一名女大学生，我难过，但难过以后是思索。
谁说女大学生不行!这无疑是一种无知。或许他们以为名闻天下的玛丽亚·居里竟是位男性科学家?而写了“生当作人杰，死亦为鬼雄”这一名句的李清照则是个有胡子的人了吧!至于那位曾是美国物理学会会长的荣誉博士吴健雄——这位出生于我们家乡的美籍华人，直到她回到家乡钻出小轿车，不少人才大吃一惊，竟是位女先生!
女大学生们，请暂且把烦恼搁起，你我她面对这些女中豪杰的成就，难道就不羡慕、不钦佩、不着急吗?
你们可否看过中国女排的训练?有人说：“中国体育不行!”好啊，不行?来呀，苦练!狠打!拼搏!怎么样!还不行吗?桂冠一次又一次的捧回来，国际声威大振，国内欢欣鼓舞，这些还不这是那些女孩子们拼搏来的?
事实胜于雄辩，行!真行!女大学生们，首要的是我们应摆脱世俗偏见的束缚，比如，有的女大学生因考试不顺利，就怨自己：“我真笨，唉，谁叫我是个女孩子呢!”那言外之意是说男孩子就该比女孩子聪明。

我最喜欢听一首歌，这是一首手语歌，名字叫《感恩的心》，妈妈告诉我，这是一个真实的故事。
有一个天生聋哑的小女孩，爸爸在她很小的时候就去世了。她和妈妈相依为命，过着贫困的生活。小女孩很乖，很听话，她从不羡慕别人的新衣服，也不羡慕别人的新玩具，她只希望每天能和妈妈在一起。妈妈为了养活她，摆了个修鞋摊，每天很早就出门，很晚才回来。每到日落时分，小女孩就开始站在家门口，充满期待地望着门前的那条路，等妈妈回家。妈妈回来的时候是她一天中最快乐的时刻，因为妈妈每天都要给她带回一块香喷喷的年糕。在她们贫穷的家里，一块小小的年糕，都给这个可怜的聋哑孩子带来许多童年的快乐。
有一天，外面下着很大很大的雨，已经过了晚饭时间了，妈妈却迟迟没有回来。小女孩静静的站在家门口，盼啊，望啊，总也等不到那熟悉的身影。雨，越下越大，天，越来越黑，小女孩决定顺着妈妈每天回来的路自己去找。她走啊走啊，走了很远，很远。忽然，她终于在路边看见了倒在地上的妈妈。她使劲地摇着妈妈的身体，妈妈却没有回答。她想妈妈可能是太累了，想睡了。小女孩把妈妈的头枕在自己的腿上，让她睡得舒服一点儿。可是，妈妈的眼睛怎么也闭不上!小女孩突然想到：我的妈妈是不是已经死了!她慌张、她恐惧，她拉着妈妈的手使劲地摇，妈妈的手已变得冰凉，她却惊讶的发现妈妈的手里还紧紧地攥着一块年糕……妈妈，妈妈，小女孩拼命地哭着，却发不出一点声音……
雨一直在不停的下，小女孩也不停的哭。她知道妈妈再也不会醒来，再也不会回家，现在就只剩孤单的她。妈妈的眼睛为什么不闭上?是因为不放心她?还是……那一瞬间，她突然明白了自己该怎样做。小女孩擦干眼泪，决定用自己的语言来告诉妈妈，她一定会乖乖的听话，一定做让妈妈放心的乖女儿……
于是，小女孩就在雨中一遍一遍用手语唱着这首《感恩的心》，泪水和雨水混在一起，从她小小的，却写满坚强的脸上轻轻的滑落。就那样，小女孩站在雨中，不停歇地用她的语言给妈妈唱最后的歌，一直到妈妈那双眼睛轻轻闭上……
当我流着眼泪听妈妈讲完这个故事，当我反反复复的听着这首歌的时候，我，被感动了，天下该有多少这样的父母在默默的为儿女们付出一切。而天下又有多少这样的儿女能够有一颗感恩于亲人的爱心呢!
感恩的心，感恩父母。是父母给了我们生命，从我们呱呱坠地，发出第一声啼哭，含辛茹苦，抚养我们长大，教育我们做人。父母是我们人生道路的铺路石，我们每走一步，都有他们细心的叮嘱，无尽的关怀和殷切的牵挂。成功了，他们不图什么回报，只有发自内心的欣慰和自豪;失败了，他们没有报怨，只有默默的支持和悉心的宽慰。

我是来自年XX班的XXX，很荣幸能够站在这个讲台上，作关于“知恩、感恩”题材的演讲，今天我演讲的题目是《常怀感恩之心，常为律己之行》。
那是一个很普通的夏日，中午放学后，我背着书包走在放学的路上，当快到家的时候，我发现了一个熟悉的身影，咦，这不是妈妈么。只见她在炎炎烈日下双手拿着几个装满蔬菜的方便袋儿，急匆匆地往家赶。我喊了一声——妈妈，可是她仿佛并没听见。怀着一份好奇，我跟在了妈妈的后面，看着她一溜小跑上楼，看着她把装满蔬菜的方便袋儿放在一只手上吃力的拎着，然后用另一只手拿出钥匙打开了房门，急急忙忙脱下了鞋，门却忘关了。我走*了房门，透过门缝看到了妈妈正在厨房洗菜，看到了她从鬓角流淌下来的汗水，看到了被她汗水浸湿的衣服。原来，妈妈是急着回家给我做午饭。看着妈妈在厨房忙碌是身影，回想起刚才的一幕幕，再回想起我因为饭菜不好吃撒娇的样子，我的鼻子抽搐了几下，泪水不禁流了下来。
同学们，生活中我们每时每刻都在接受着恩惠：父母对我们的养育之恩，老师对我们的教育之恩，社会对我们的关爱之恩，作为幸福的一代，我们被大家称之为“温室里成长的花朵”。然而，我们这些温室里的花朵，是否真正体会到这些恩情了呢?也许很多同学会说，我*时考试成绩优异，我回报父母、老师了。也许有的同学还会这样以为，我不乱花钱，老实听话，父母、老师对我放心，这应该算是回报吧。同学们，今天我们演讲的主题“知恩于心，感恩于行”，其实就已经很好的诠释了答案。我们需要用心接受恩惠，我们需要用实际行动回报父母、老师，回报社会对我们的恩情。

小时候的梦想是坐飞机摘天上飞，我很小的时候家在城区外，天天看见飞机从头上飞过，不免想上去坐一坐，我痴痴地仰视飞机，那时我第一个梦想，我大声地对天上吼，试图让他下来，直到我五岁，我的梦想终于实现，我真的坐上了飞机，飞行在云中，飞扬在青春中。
再后来，我的梦想是用我的双手飞到优秀中，我上小学时，数学并不强，但从小以来我对数学充满乐趣可是成绩却不好，我下定要拿一个优秀，我天天晚上做练*，天天早睡早起，充足的经力听课，下课也不疯玩了，取而代之的是沉默。功夫不负有心人，我再次飞行，在青春早期飞行真好呀。
而现在，我的梦想就不是一件小事了，我就是要在中考中，考出好成绩，我以上初三就开始努力，一次又一次地刷新着我的成绩，我不断努力，学如逆水行舟，我要逆下去，真到青春飞扬。
梦想有着实际意义的东西，它让我的青春飞扬。

陈：今天我们演讲的主题是
合：年华易逝，猛志长存
陈：这个叫春天的季节，你缓慢的来到了我们的身旁！不经意抬头，发现木棉花开了，我的心砰砰直跳。或许是因为这鲜红的花朵点缀着这样的春；或许是因为木棉的力量震撼着我的心，又或许是因为又一个春天到来了！
桂：这是一个怎样的季节！风轻云淡，细雨闲花！到底是春天啊！一切都在神秘的酝酿之中，小草跑出来了，花儿露出脸来了！柳条舞出身姿来了！到底是春天啊！有一种不动身的放纵！有一种澎湃的激情！有一种蓄势待发的崭新力量！
陈：你说，春光易虚度，不如早早相逢。我说，年华似流水，只有珍惜青春。高三的学长学姐们，做了三年的冷板凳，在几十天后，就要向它们告别了！三年就这样一闪而过，如一条长河，左岸是无法忘记的回忆，右岸是无悔专注的梦想，而中间飞快流淌的是我们无法挽回的青春年华！
桂：青春是用来追忆的，当你怀揣着它时，它一文不值，只有当它耗尽时，再回过头看，一切才有了意义。失败后的落寞，成功后的`微笑，便是这三年青春的意义吧！高三的学子们，此刻站在这里的你们，是否陷入了对过去的沉思？脑海里又是一种怎样复杂而又繁琐的场景？可是，它毕竟带着你们无数的辛酸和痛苦渐行渐远！
陈：有人说：“青春是一本太仓促的书，每一页，每一行都定格着生命的美丽和感动！”
桂：有人说：“青春是一抹甜蜜的忧伤，每一点，每一滴都是潸潸泪影中的微笑！”
陈：如果青春是一本书，那我们应选择用闪闪的笔尖，盈盈的墨水去诠释它的丰富。
桂：如果是一抹忧伤，那我们应懂得化忧伤的力量，用生命去沉淀属于它的感动！
陈：还记得当年那个偷偷在本子上写着“我要上清华”的你吗？即使知道那是一个多么遥远的梦！还记得考试失败后下决心要好好学*的你吗？可是没过几天，你又变回了原样！
桂：还记得晚自*对同桌说：“我睡会儿，老师来了叫我一声”的你吗？可是，现在睡觉对你来说都成为奢侈品，连吃饭的时间多用了几分钟都会有犯罪感！
陈：于是发现年华易逝，三年如白驹过隙，才觉已是长跑的最后阶段了！不论你现在是失意，还是信心满满，都要咬咬牙，闭着眼一直往前冲！如果不把自己逼一把，你不会知道自己有多优秀！
桂：于是发现猛志长存，此刻的你应该怀揣着你的梦想一直向前，没有奋斗过，有怎知艰难！没有奋斗过，又怎能笑着进入考场！没有奋斗过，又怎能获那红彤彤的通知书！
陈：年轻的心盛放在三月的花季，雨水打不尽我们绵延的思绪！珍惜高中仅存的时光，让她演绎别样的风采！
桂：记住，年华易逝，猛志长存！拾起我们曾经遗落的志向，放飞我们心中的梦想！让青春的心勇往直前！
陈：天有多宽，张开我的双手拥抱；浪有多高，我向它大声怒吼。
桂：路有多长，我看到天边的亮；心有多累，只是一刹那的惆怅。
合：顾盼左右，瞻前顾后，都是逃避的借口；飞越痛苦，心魔不能阻挡我；飞越痛苦，勇往直前，有我的自由。

理想是人生的太阳，没有阳光的普照、生命的作用，地球就会变成石头。对人类来说，没有理想就等于没有灵魂。
俄国的文学家列夫·托尔斯泰说过："理想是指路明灯。没有理想，就没有坚定的方向；没有方向，就没有生活。"***说过：生活的理想，就是为了理想的生活。英国心理学家和教育学家佛来明曾说过："人一旦失去理想，失去了精神上的追求，人类就变得无知，社会也将会变得漆黑一团。"因为理想是信念、信仰、道德、责任、风尚、*惯所形成的一种意识，它直接支配着一个人实践活动的方向和效果。谢谢大家！
