My favorite festival is Christmas Day. It’s not the trditional for Chinese.
It’s for the foreigners, which Christmas Day is to them what Spring Festival is us. But with the development of the society, more and more foreigners come to China.
And then it is popular in China. I feel excited to see the Cristmas decoration and Christmas trees.
I also like Santa Claus, who will give Christmas present for us under the table. And people will say ”Merry Cristmas” to each other on that day.
It is wonderful to have a foreign festival.
My neighbor is from USA. He is a professor in a university here. He always says "Hi" when he sees any people in the neighborhood. I went to his home this Christmas with my friends. I gave him a Christmas card. He was so happy. He took out some food and some drinks. And, we sang some Christmas songs with him and ate a little of food. He played the piano and we danced and played games. When it was getting late, we said goodbye to him. He thanked us for our visit and placed my Christmas card on his refrigerator. When I was very small, I always looked forward to the coming of Christmas Day, because it meant that I would have presents early in the morning. It was such an exciting thing for me. Although it is generally agreed that the Christmas tree in its current form came from Germany in the early 19th century， the tradition of decorating a tree to mark winter celebrations dates back hundreds of years to Roman times， when they used to decorate evergreen trees with small pieces of metal to celebrate Saturnalia.
In medieval times the 'Paradise Play' was performed every year on 24 December. This depicted the creation of Man and the fall of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden and always included an evergreen hung with apples which represented the apple tree of temptation.
There is a legend that St Boniface， an English monk， came upon a group of pagans gathered around an oak tree who were preparing to sacrifice a child to the God Thor. In order to stop the sacrifice， and save the child's life， St Boniface is said to have felled the tree with one blow of his fist. Later on， a fir tree grew in place of the oak and this， St Boniface told the pagans， was the Tree of Life and represented the Christ Child.
Legend also suggests that， in the late 16th century， Martin Luther （the founder of the Protestant religion） was the first to decorate an indoor tree with candles when he attempted to recreate the stars shining over a forest of evergreens.
The first mention of decorated trees being taken indoors came in 1605 in Germany — a country with a long Christmas tree history！ The trees were initially decorated with fruit and sweets together with hand made objects such as quilled snowflakes and stars. The word Christmas comes from the words Cristes maesse, or "Christ's Mass". Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus for members of the Christian religion. Most historians peg the first celebration of Christmas to Rome in 336 AD. Christmas is both a holiday and a Holy Day.

来到大街上，到处都让人感受到过节的气氛。几乎所有的超市和商场都摆放着圣诞树和圣诞老人，有的在门两旁各放一个，有的摆在大厅上，还挂着小铃铛，轻轻一碰，就会发出叮当、叮当的动听的音乐。有的把金色的小灯挂在树上，有红的、白的、蓝的像五颜六色的`星星，美丽极了。
快瞧，超市门前有一个玩具圣诞老人，头戴红帽子，身穿红衣服，脚穿红皮鞋，美丽的很。我的弟弟忍不住伸出小手，握住圣诞老人的手，好像在说：你好！今天晚上你会送我什么礼物呢？
虽然超市门前的圣诞老人很有趣，但商场里更好玩。
商场里有一个大台子，上面有一栋又大又漂亮的房子，七个小矮人快活的生活在一起。圣诞节到了，他们都跑出来相互嬉戏。到了晚上，他们看见圣诞老人给他们送礼物来了，就高兴得欢呼起来。
到了晚上，我和妈妈回到家，我们各自在床头放了一个袜子。等妈妈走出房间，我就从我的小金猪里拿出几个硬币，放在妈妈的袜子里。不一会儿，我就睡着了。一觉醒来，发现在我的袜子里，有几块糖和一根火腿。我赶紧对妈妈说：圣诞老人来了，快看看你的袜子里有什么。妈妈看了看说：圣诞老人真的来过，有钱。我不由得大声笑了起来。
圣诞节虽说是外国的节日，我也非常喜欢它，因为可以互相赠送贺卡和礼物，甚至还能开个聚会，大家聚集在一起说说话、表演节目，多热闹啊！去年过圣诞节时，我同桌送了我一张贺卡，我心里好激动，那张贺卡我至今还保存着。

晚上我也从衣橱里拿出一个大白袜贴在了床头，在纸条上写着：“亲爱的圣诞老人您好，我想要一个小天使作为礼物，请您满足我的愿望好好吗？”梦中我看见圣诞老人骑着*安鹿赶来，他从魔法袋中拿出一个非常精美的礼包放在了我的大白袜子里，有骑着鹿飘然而去了。
