People’s opinions are always different once they talk about campus love. Some people hold the idea that campus love is a bitter fruit which may cause pains and make people hurt. Besides, people who are against campus love maintain that campus love is just a kind of thing that wastes time and money. While others declare nothing is more wonderful than love. The later seem to be idealists who love for love’s sake!
As far as I’m concerned, I do not quite agree with the two kinds of opinions mentioned above. My topic today is " to Be a Confident Person."
What is confidence? Confidence is to trust yourself. Confidence is to look upon yourself. It is not to indulge in self-admiration. It is not to get extremely arrogant. It is not to get dizzy with success or to be opinionated. It is just to inspire yourself ahead of a quality of mind, in high spirit, full of energy. It is to meet the challenges of life in a positive mood. It is to overcome your inferiority, farewell, to get rid of the trouble of a a ready-made panacea.
Remember, I have just entered junior high school. As the saying goes，what wakes you up in the morning is not your alarm clock，but you dream. The future is unknowable，but dream give us the direction some moment maybe the reality is harsh and you are suffering much. If you have a dream，even a very small one，it will light your life in the darkness and keep you hiding from the reality，for dream will give you the energy to fight.
However，sometimes it seems that what is practical and sensible does not connect with your most treasured dreams. I am a freshman，indeed my college life is not as colorful as imagined before，all plans and goals just be hung up。I’m very afraid that even if I graduated from college，I still couldn’t find a job and then had a better life. Faced with the cruel reality，we college students should really make good use of these facilities and learn as much useful knowledge as possible。Then after graduation，we would find it’s much easier to get a decent job.
When I am a little girl，my father gave me two cups filled with soil，he asked me to water one cup every day。Two weeks later，tender leaves appeared in the cup that I watered everyday。Father said to me：“The seed represents for your dream，without sweat and effort，it won’t come out no means will your dream turn into reality if you never pay for it.”

Last month, I happened to watch an interview of a Chinese student studying abroad. At one point the hostess asked: "For how long have you been away from home?" "Three years," he said. I worried a lot, so before I left, I carefully prepared a flow chart on how to operate the DVD player, and stored as many template messages in my parents' phones as I could possibly think of.
Fortunately, my efforts did work for my parents. However, what makes me more optimistic is that society at large is becoming more concerned about the elder generation, and the fruit of technological innovation is no longer believed to be an asset only for the young people. Today, with simple Chinese instructions on the remote control, even my 80-year-old grandfather can play his favorite TV program on a DVD. Last year, with the money I earned from a part-time job, I bought my mother a new cell phone which supports handwritten messages instead of inputting words through a keyboard. And now, my mother no longer has to use the templates messages I've stored for her, instead, she now sends me messages as long as 300 words. The joy I have when reading those text messages is inexpressible, not only because of the words she writes, but also because our technology has indeed become a real blessing in her life.
Two years ago, the counter service in our neighborhood bank was replaced by an ATM station. With those intelligent machines, people can carry out all their regular banking services. My father, however, was not used to such a change. Thereafter, he always walked three blocks further to a bank with a counter to use their services. In the future, however, this will no longer happen, because when I went to that ATM station again last spring festival, I found a delightful change: the terminals there have adopted a voice guidance system. While I was there, I noticed a grey haired man using the voice instructions. And despite his hesitation between pressing the buttons, he left the bank with a satisfactory smile. What a marvel! My vision for the future was unfolding before my very eyes. At that moment, I rejoiced thinking of my father, someday, standing there using the banking service. I rejoiced thinking of myself that when I become old, the new inventions can still ease my life rather than making the life harde.

一、春节的来历：
春节，是农历的岁首，春节的另一名称叫过年，是中国最盛大、最热闹、最重要的一个古老传统节日，也是中国人所独有的节日。是中华文明最集中的表现。自西汉以来，春节的*俗一直延续到今天。春节一般指除夕和正月初一。但在民间，传统意义上的春节是指从腊月初八的腊祭或腊月二十三或二十四的祭灶，一直到正月十五，其中以除夕和正月初一为高潮。如何过庆贺这个节日，在千百年的历史发展中，形成了一些较为固定的风俗*惯，有许多还相传至今。在春节这一传统节日期间，我国的汉族和大多数少数民族都有要举行各种庆祝活动，这些活动大多以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除旧布新、迎禧接福、祈求丰年为主要内容。活动形式丰富多彩，带有浓郁的民族特色。 春节的来历有一种传说，中国古时候有一种叫“年”的怪兽，头长触角，凶猛异常。“年”长年深居海底，每到除夕才爬上岸，吞食牲畜伤害人命。因此，每到除夕这天，村村寨寨的人们扶老携幼逃往深山，以躲避“年”兽的伤害。有一年除夕，从村外来了个乞讨的老人。乡亲们一片匆忙恐慌景象，只有村东头一位老婆婆给了老人些食物，并劝他快上山躲避“年”兽，那老人笑道：“婆婆若让我在家呆一夜，我一
定把?年?兽撵走。”老婆婆仍然继续劝说，乞讨老人笑而不语。 半夜时分，“年”兽闯进村。它发现村里气氛与往年不同：村东头老婆婆家，门贴大红纸，屋内烛火通明。“年”兽浑身一抖，怪叫了一声。将*门口时，院内突然传来“砰砰啪啪”的炸响声，“年”浑身战栗，再不敢往前凑了。原来，“年”最怕红色、火光和炸响。这时，婆婆的家门大开，只见院内一位身披红袍的老人在哈哈大笑。“年”大惊失色，狼狈逃蹿了。第二天是正月初一，避难回来的人们见村里安然无恙十分惊奇。这时，老婆婆才恍然大悟，赶忙向乡亲们述说了乞讨老人的许诺。这件事很快在周围村里传开了，人们都知道了驱赶“年”兽的办法。从此每年除夕，家家贴红对联、燃放爆竹；户户烛火通明、守更待岁。初一一大早，还要走亲串友道喜问好。这风俗越传越广，成了中国民间最隆重的传统节日。
二、春节的*俗
1、腊月二十三 祭灶
我国春节，一般是从祭灶揭开序幕的。祭灶，是一项在我国民间影响很大、流传极广的*俗。旧时，差不多家家灶间都设有“灶王爷”神位。
2、腊月二十四 扫尘
“腊月二十四，掸尘扫房子” ，据《吕氏春秋》记载，我国在尧舜时代就有春节扫尘的风俗。按民间的说法：因“尘”与“陈”谐音，新春扫尘有“除陈布新”的涵义，其用意是要把一切穷运、晦气统统扫出门。这一*俗寄托着人们破旧立新的愿望和辞旧迎新的祈求。 每逢春节来临，家家户户都要打扫环境，清洗各种器具，拆洗被褥窗帘，洒扫
六闾庭院，掸拂尘垢蛛网，疏浚明渠暗沟。到处洋溢着欢欢喜喜搞卫生、干干净净迎新春的欢乐气氛。
3、腊月二十五 接玉皇
旧俗认为灶神上天后，天帝玉皇于农历十二月二十五日亲自下界,查察人间善恶，并定来年祸福，所以家家祭之以祈福，称为“接玉皇”。这一天起居、言语都要谨慎，争取好表现，以博取玉皇欢心，降福来年。
4、腊月二十七、二十八 洗浴
传统民俗中在这两天要集中地洗澡、洗衣，除去一年的晦气，准备迎接来年的新春，京城有"二十七洗疚疾，二十八洗邋遢"的谚语。腊月二十六洗浴为“洗福禄”。
5、腊月三十除夕 贴门神、贴春联、守岁、爆竹、吃年夜饭、给压岁钱、祭祖
除夕的意思是“月穷岁尽”，人们都要除旧部新，有旧岁至此而除，来年另换新岁的意思，是农历全年最后的一个晚上。故此期间的活动都围绕着除旧部新，消灾祈福为中心。
春联、贴福字、贴窗花、贴年画、贴挂千。这些都具有祈福、装点居所的民俗功能。反映了人民大众的风俗和信仰，寄托着人们对未来的希望。
守岁，我国民间在除夕有守岁的*惯，俗名“熬年”。守岁从吃年夜饭开始，这顿年夜饭要慢慢地吃，从掌灯时分入*，有的人家一直要吃到深夜。守岁的*俗，既有对如水逝去的岁月含惜别留恋之情，又有
对来临的新年寄以美好希望之意。
爆竹，中国民间有“开门爆竹”一说。即在新的一年到来之际，家家户户开门的第一件事就是燃放爆竹，以哔哔叭叭的爆竹声除旧迎新。爆竹是中国特产，其起源很早，至今已有两千多年的历史。放爆竹可以创造出喜庆热闹的气氛，是节日的一种娱乐活动，可以给人们带来欢愉和吉利。王安石的《元日》诗：
爆竹声中一岁除，
春风送暖人屠苏。
千门万户曈曈日。
总把新桃换旧符。
描绘了我国人民欢度春节盛大的喜庆情景。
在古代的农业社会里，大约自腊月初八以后，家庭主妇们就要忙着张罗过年的食品了。因为腌制腊味所需的时间较长，所以必须尽早准备，蒸年糕，年糕因为谐音“年高”，再加上有着变化多端的'口味，几乎成了家家必备的应景食品。年糕的式样有方块状的黄、白年糕，象征着黄金、白银，寄寓新年发财的意思。年糕的口味因地而异。
饺子，北方年夜饭有吃饺子的传统，但各地吃饺子的*俗亦不相同，有的地方除夕之夜吃饺子，有的地方初一吃饺子，吃饺子是表达人们辞旧迎新之际祈福求吉愿望的特有方式。饺子就意味着更岁交子，过春节吃饺子被认为是大吉大利。另外饺子形状像元宝，包饺子意味着包住福运，吃饺子象征生活富裕。
吃年夜饭，也叫团圆夜，离家在外的游子都要不远千里万里赶回家来
是春节家家户户最热闹愉快的时候。大年夜．丰盛的年菜摆满一桌，围坐桌旁，共吃团圆饭，心头的充实感真是难以言喻。
给压岁钱，压岁钱是由长辈发给晚辈的，有的家里是吃完年夜饭后，人人坐在桌旁不许走，等大家都吃完了，由长辈发给晚辈，并勉励儿孙在在新的一年里学*长进，好好做人。
6、正月初一 拜年
春节早晨，开门大吉，先放爆竹，叫做“开门炮仗”。爆竹声后，碎红满地，灿若云锦，称为“满堂红”。这时满街瑞气，喜气洋洋。 春节里的一项重要活动，是到新朋好友家和邻那里祝贺新春，旧称拜年。新年的初一，人们都早早起来，穿上最漂亮的衣服，打扮得整整齐齐，出门去走亲访友，相互拜年，恭祝来年大吉大利。拜年的方式多种多样，有的是同族长带领若干人挨家挨户地拜年；有的是同事相邀几个人去拜年；也有大家聚在一起相互祝贺，称为“团拜”。由于登门拜年费时费力，后来一些上层人物和士大夫便使用各贴相互投贺，由此发展出来后来的“贺年片”。春节拜年时，晚辈要先给长辈拜年，祝长辈人长寿安康，长辈可将事先准备好的压岁钱分给晚辈，据说压岁钱可以压住邪祟，因为“岁”与“祟”谐音，晚辈得到压岁钱就可以**安安度过一岁。
7、舞龙

Let me give you two phenomenons.
Here is the first one. More and more people used to be using air condition ，but how many people ever thought whether this new ?hobby? will bring side-effects or not? Maybe just few people. In fact, the side-effect is apparent. The emissions of gases exhausted from air conditioning contain a lot of methane (这里可以停顿一下)which could cause global warming. By the way, air conditioning will waste a lot of electricity .
The second one is about the increasing amount of cars. According to the statistics, in 21st century, there are 7 millions cars in the world, a large amount of exhaust gases has seriously influenced us, such as: cough, throat inflammation.
This two phenomenons are just few part of reason which change our environment badly. There are many other reasons.
In nearly 100 years, the average global temperature experienced twice fluctuations which is "cold-warm-cold-warm". Generally, it is the trend that global climate is becoming warmer and warmer . In 1980s,global temperature rised apparently. According to Chinese scientists, the average temperature in China has risen by 1.1 degrees
centigrade in the last 5 decades. It is higher than the reported global average. We are seeing more frequent bouts of extreme weather in many parts of the country. For example, last spring, the most severe drought in 50 years hit northern China affecting the livelihood of 4 million people. Environmental damage and climate change is a reality for us. Out of the world?s most polluted 20 cities, half are in China,70% of Chinese rivers are polluted . China has become the largest carbon emitter of the world.
It is really thought-provoking(发人深省). Who pays for it ? First,as the pace of human high-tech development process goes quiker and quiker, the side-effects with the science development reflected, global warming is one example. more and more greenhouse gases with the development of economy are being discharged into the t 70% of the greenhouse gases has been composed of carbon dioxide,which is considered as one of the greatest causes of global warming . It has harmful effects,causing the sea level to raise and many natural disasters to strike. It is easy to describe success in terms of money， fame and reputation. But I believe that success is not external. I believe that success comes from within. My definition of success is to be true to yourself， and be true to others. That means， that you must cherish your personal ideal even in the face of adversity. I also believe that success is not discriminatory. Success is not restricted to such a class of people， in fact， it may be achieved by any person irrespective of his race， creed， gender and economic background. A good example of success is that of Beethoven. He is one of the world's most famous composers， yet he was deaf. He could not hear the majestic pieces of music that he created. Yet， in the face of this adversity， he was able to maintain his ideals——that of composing music.
To exemplify what success means to me， I pose a question to all of you. What brings us together here today？ I believe that it is the beauty of the spoken word. The effect of pause and the sound of rhetoric are unique to the spoken word. I believe the beauty of the spoken word is even stronger for those who have difficulty in expressing themselves.
These people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them. I once went to Australia and I saw two pictures， Once was drawn by a normal child， the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions. The picture drawn by the normal child was simple and plain. 记忆力的好也可以帮助学*，但是死记硬背的方式实在是套古老了，也太死板了，再好的兴趣也会被消磨光。所以，可以用一种节省时间，增加兴趣，享受时间的方法。在老师留作业，抄单词或句子的时候，先抄一遍，再根据脑袋里"肯定"的答案在接着继续默写，这样就达到了节省时间着点了。还有在背课文的时候，有些同学们后觉得这些太多了，太难了，简直就是在谋财害命，但老师就是硬要我们被下来，太痛苦了！那么，在这个时候，你可以把被课文当做是在背诗，记歌词，背诗背着背着就顺了，记歌词记着记着就好像是自己在听喜爱的音乐一般，这也有了增加兴趣，享受时间和节省时间了。
第三步，自信：

2．在教学模式和方法上，重体验、重实践、重参与、重创造。要求教学设计贴*生活，符合小学生兴趣的需求；教学内容能引起学生的兴趣，例如韵律诗歌、寓言故事、会话表演、游戏等；教学的语言材料要真实、实用。学生在课上通过用中学、学中用，反复实践，学用结合。功能、结构、话题、任务做到有机结合；以话题为核心，以功能和结构为主线，以任务型活动为目标安排各单元或各课的教学；通过视、听、说、玩、唱、画、游、读、写、译等饶有趣味的活动，让学生接触足够量的语言材料，保证输入量，“*得”与“学得”结合，使学生逐步培养起初步的语感；通过大量语言材料的输入，特别是声像材料的示范，学生模仿，教师指导，使学生逐步形成良好的语音、语调、书写、拼读的*惯。设计任务型活动，开放空间，激活学生的思维，培养创造思维。自始至终引导学生通过完成具体任务活动来学*语言，让学生为了特定的学*目的去进行特定的语言活动，通过完成特定的交际任务来获得和积累相应的学*经验。教学方法要多样，且生动活泼，激发学生的学*兴趣。充分利用教科书中的课文创设栩栩如生的情景，为学生提供使用英语进行交流的机会。实践中，我们发现每当孩子们进入角色，成功地做成一件事，他们便情不自禁，喜形于色，因此兴趣倍增、信心加强，动机和情意受到了很大的激励。同时要求布置的练*形式要多种多样，做到手、脑、口、耳、眼、肢、体并用，静态、动态相结合，基本操练与自由练*相结合，单项和综合练*相结合。通过大量的实践，使学生具有良好的语音、语调、书写和拼读的基础，并能用英语表情达意，开展简单的交流活动。
二、创设良好的语言学*环境，扩展英语教学的时空。
⒈灵活安排教学组织和课堂，以学生为主体，充分调动学生的积极性，开展两人小组、多人小组、成行、成排、半班等多种形式的活动。这是小学英语教学的重要特点之一。只有开展这些活动才能使每一个学生充分地参与课堂实践，才能体现出语言的交际性，才能实现师生之间和学生之间的互动性。课堂上课桌椅的摆放形式根据教学的需要采用不同的方式——秧田式、半圆式、全圆式、双圆式等，目的是为了更好地开展各种教学活动。这样做可以促进师生之间的情感交流，而且可以帮助学生培养起互相关心，合作的团队精神。
⒉采用多种媒体的现代化教学手段，创设良好的语言环境和充分的语言实践机会，优化。利用英语教学音像资源——图画、图表、投影、录音、录像、cd、vcd、dvd等，不仅能为学生提供规范的语音、语调，还可以提供真实自然的语言使用的示范，即语言使用的场合、时间、对象等，而且还有体态语——手势、动作、表情等的示范。多种媒体的运用使教学变得生动、形象、活泼，感染力强，容易激发学生兴趣，引起有意注意，加深印象，帮助学生持久记忆。充分利用现代化教学手段，可以超越时间和空间的限制，使学生置身于以英语为母语的环境中，体验英语的实际运用。的使用可以使教学过程程序化，大大提高教学的效率，这一点对我们课时少的小学英语课尤为重要。
⒊把英语学*从有限的课内时空扩展到无限的课外时空，成立小小英语角、学校布置英语走廊、让学生制作英语画刊等各种形式的活动极大地提高了学生学英语的热情，让学生感受到英语无处不在、无时不学。
三、努力总结和发现问题，及时调整。
在实际教学过程中，教师应积极实践，不断探索，针对实际工作中出现的问题和学生身心特点，总结规律，认真思考，不断摸索。尤其是在中教师应具备良好的应变机制。①学*过程要有趣味性、有意义，要有利于激发学生主动参与的欲望。②善于利用学生的生活体验，通过让学生交流，使他们对所学语言产生亲切感，从而激发学*动机。及时、正确地给予评价激发学生的成就感，从而产生学*的新动力。常常采用师生问答形式，学生感到枯燥、厌烦。教师让学生与长毛绒动物握手交流，学生兴趣倍增。
四、认真进行质量监控、积极推进评价改革
采用人本与发展的模式来理解教育和人类发展的关系，是当前教育理念的核心，即尊重个体和个体差异，实施因材施教，实现全人教育，为个体的终身学*打下基础。因此，在教学中必须实施新的评价理念，提倡形成性评价和终结性评价有机结合。做到评价主体互动化，评价内容多元化，评价过程动态化。评价的基本目标是为了教育并促进学生的表现，要求教师尊重和爱护每个学生的学*积极性，对学生的成绩和点滴进步适时地加以肯定。采用口头表扬和精神奖励的方式，如奖给小红花、红星、纸制奖牌、课文中的人物卡通图片等。特别要注意对学*后进的学生所取得的进步及时给予表扬。要求评价形式具有多样性和可选择性，以形成性评价为主，以学生*时参与各种英语教学活动所表现的兴趣、态度和交流能力为主要依据。采用学生*时教学活动中常见的方式进行，重视学生的态度、参与的积极性、努力的程度、交流的`能力以及合作的精神等。通过观察学生的活动（讲故事、说歌谣、唱歌曲、表演对话或短剧等），与学生交流，学生的自评、互评等生动活泼的方式进行。很多学校建立了学生的评价档案。如学生的语音、书写记录，学生参与小组活动的情况记载，学生课余时间的学*拓展情况等统统作为学期总成绩评定的指标参考。由于注重对学生*时学*情况及时地进行评价，有效地提高了学生学英语的积极性。除形成性评价外，小学三年级期末或学年考试以口试和听力考查为主，五、六年级采用口试、听力、笔试相结合的方式。口试主要考查学生实际的语言应用能力；笔试主要考查学生听和读的技能以及初步的写作能力。评价采用等级制或达标方法记成绩，不对学生按成绩排队或以此作为各种评比或选拔的依据。教学评价是为学*服务的，目的在于提高学生学*的效率，成为学生学*的动力和源泉，为学生的终身发展服务。
有效教学在小学英语教学中的实施是为了提高教师的工作效益、强化过程评价和目标管理。为此我始终从教学的准备、教学的实施、教学的评价三方面入手，自始至终地关注学生的进步和发展、关注教学效益，关注教学中的可测性。同时教师还应具备一种反思的意识，不断地调整自己的教学行为掌握相关的教学策略，以便于自己面对具体的情景做出相应的决策，获取最大的教学效益。
让游戏闪亮你的英语课堂
游戏在英语课堂上的重要性都快比得上水之于鱼了，很难想象一堂课上，如果没有了游戏，该怎么继续。不论高年级还是低年级，在游戏中学*都是一种十分有效的学*方式。低年级学生好动又好胜，游戏能让他们在动身体的同时动脑，并且享受成功的喜悦。高年级的课堂相对而言比较乏味，适时的游戏会是绝佳的作料。好的游戏能让一堂沉闷的英语课活跃起来，是学生学*的兴奋的药剂。
一、游戏的安排应讲究一个“适”字，适时、适式、适度。
（一）适时组织游戏
看准时机，针对学生的实际安排合适的游戏形式。
1.让学生从思想上尽快进入英语课堂，游戏导入是个相当快捷、有效的方法。我们可以安排listen and do，listen and point，look and say，flash and say等操作简单，但具有检查性质的游戏。学生在玩游戏的同时，复*了旧知识，情感上也得到了体验。而从这些旧知识的复*，我们可以自然过渡到新知识的传授，温故知新，以旧带新，一举两得。
2.在复*巩固阶段，最忌讳的是机械操练。游戏能使复*变得生动。比如我们学了一系列水果以后，安排老师拿一个水果，学生说出来的环节，但反复几次之后，学生的积极性就会减弱。这时，我们安排游戏Who is missing？Who is fast？Magic eyes等，学生的积极性就会立刻恢复，一只只小手又会争先恐后地举
起。
3.当学生的脸上闪过“无聊”、“困惑”的痕迹时，游戏可解“燃眉之急”。高年级的学生面临背单词、记单词的难题。如果不讲究方法地死记硬背，不但效果不好，学生的兴趣也会逐渐降低。在这个阶段，如果能帮助他们掌握正确的方法，促使他们主动背单词，就会对他们以后的英语学*有很大的帮助。单词接龙、吊死鬼、寻找共同点等游戏，不仅让学生始终处于积极思考的状态，而且能提高他们课后记单词的兴趣。
（二）适式组织游戏
有些游戏的可用性很强，如copy不走样等游戏，无论什么内容，都能套用。但有些游戏，却不是什么内容都合适的。教师要学会使用最恰当的游戏，如flash and guess这样的游戏仅适合单词教学，而不适合巩固句型。
不同年龄阶段的学生，对游戏的口味也不同，我们要学会投其所好。低年级的学生喜欢趣味性强的，如copy不走样，high voice and low voice能引起他们参与的欲望。而高年级的学生则喜欢探索型的游戏，比如bingo、加减运算对抗赛就很受他们的欢迎。
（三）适度组织游戏
在教学中，我们不能只为让学生放松、玩乐而安排游戏，归根结底，游戏是为教学服务的。在游戏活动之前，我们必须指定相应的规则，没有规则，游戏过程就会很“乱”，有规则才能“活而
有序”。当学生的“玩性”到五、六成的时候，我们的游戏就该结束了。因为如果游戏结束太早，学生才刚进入游戏状态，熟悉游戏规则，就结束游戏，一来扫兴，二来游戏的“运用语言”的目的也没达到。如果游戏结束得太晚，学生就会越来越无聊，下次再玩这类游戏就没有了热情。
二、游戏的组织，还要讲究一个“变”字——以不变应万变。
（一）巧设陷阱
同一个游戏“发口令，做动作”，一般都是教师怎么发，学生怎么做，最多让一个学生发，其他学生做，偶尔做做反口令，分组进行比赛。做多了，学生的好奇心没有了，游戏就变成了机械操练。如果设几个陷阱，就会有“眼睛一眨，老母鸡变鸭”的效果。趣味性的调节就是教师在做动作的时候，可以先慢慢地好像在做“坐下”的动作，眼神一定要是那种坏坏的，然后突然变成“起立”，让学生产生和教师斗下去的欲望。师生成了“敌人”，而游戏就成了“战争”。把动作和语言结合起来，边做动作边说，动作和口令有时一致，有时不一致。在训练学生对所学知识掌握的同时，还训练了学生的反应能力。
（二）变换速度
随着学生对知识的.掌握逐渐加深，训练的速度可以逐渐加快，这不但适合学*的规律，还使原本枯燥的操练重新显出生气，学生逐渐淡化的新奇感又被激起。
（三）奖励机制的运用
在教育中，我们能体会到表扬和激励对学生起的作用比批评更大。在老师的激励下，学生的探索精神更易发挥，更容易学会原本以为很难学的东西。我常常采用口头表扬，认为给学生物质奖励会使他们变得功利，但在同事们的感染下，偶尔尝试奖励，也取得了很好的激励效果。我用小五星激励学生，常常搞得自己整个黄昏剪五角星，有时，一节课奖多了，自己还有点心疼，最重要的是用多了学生还不稀罕了。其实我们可以尝试用加分的方法，注意分值有区别，加分要敏感，时时注意给学生以表扬，让学生得到认可。这样一来，不但让自己得到解脱，更使奖励更具可变性。
（四）以人为本
教育的对象是人，所以教育应当以人为本。在游戏中，教师的神态、语态、眼神、动作是十分重要的，教师要用主持人一般的激情，让每个学生都感觉到老师的召唤。我相信教师只有投入情感，学生才会给予相应的回报。
当我们感到教学有一丝疲倦的时候，一个小游戏会赶走疲倦，让我们放松那根紧绷的弦，重新振作精神。当我们感到教学有一点枯燥的时候，一个小游戏会把欢笑带来，当笑声充满教室时，我们的心也跟着飞舞。当我们感到教学有些沉闷的时候，一个小游戏让我们的脑袋重新思考，手脑并用，边玩乐边学*。小学英语课堂里的游戏魅力无穷。

一、春节的来历：
春节，是农历的岁首，春节的另一名称叫过年，是中国最盛大、最热闹、最重要的一个古老传统节日，也是中国人所独有的节日。是中华文明最集中的表现。自西汉以来，春节的*俗一直延续到今天。春节一般指除夕和正月初一。但在民间，传统意义上的春节是指从腊月初八的腊祭或腊月二十三或二十四的祭灶，一直到正月十五，其中以除夕和正月初一为高潮。如何过庆贺这个节日，在千百年的历史发展中，形成了一些较为固定的风俗*惯，有许多还相传至今。在春节这一传统节日期间，我国的汉族和大多数少数民族都有要举行各种庆祝活动，这些活动大多以祭祀神佛、祭奠祖先、除旧布新、迎禧接福、祈求丰年为主要内容。活动形式丰富多彩，带有浓郁的民族特色。 春节的来历有一种传说，中国古时候有一种叫“年”的怪兽，头长触角，凶猛异常。“年”长年深居海底，每到除夕才爬上岸，吞食牲畜伤害人命。因此，每到除夕这天，村村寨寨的人们扶老携幼逃往深山，以躲避“年”兽的伤害。有一年除夕，从村外来了个乞讨的老人。乡亲们一片匆忙恐慌景象，只有村东头一位老婆婆给了老人些食物，并劝他快上山躲避“年”兽，那老人笑道：“婆婆若让我在家呆一夜，我一
定把?年?兽撵走。”老婆婆仍然继续劝说，乞讨老人笑而不语。 半夜时分，“年”兽闯进村。它发现村里气氛与往年不同：村东头老婆婆家，门贴大红纸，屋内烛火通明。“年”兽浑身一抖，怪叫了一声。将*门口时，院内突然传来“砰砰啪啪”的炸响声，“年”浑身战栗，再不敢往前凑了。原来，“年”最怕红色、火光和炸响。这时，婆婆的家门大开，只见院内一位身披红袍的老人在哈哈大笑。“年”大惊失色，狼狈逃蹿了。第二天是正月初一，避难回来的人们见村里安然无恙十分惊奇。这时，老婆婆才恍然大悟，赶忙向乡亲们述说了乞讨老人的许诺。这件事很快在周围村里传开了，人们都知道了驱赶“年”兽的办法。从此每年除夕，家家贴红对联、燃放爆竹；户户烛火通明、守更待岁。初一一大早，还要走亲串友道喜问好。这风俗越传越广，成了中国民间最隆重的传统节日。
二、春节的*俗
1、腊月二十三 祭灶
我国春节，一般是从祭灶揭开序幕的。祭灶，是一项在我国民间影响很大、流传极广的*俗。旧时，差不多家家灶间都设有“灶王爷”神位。
2、腊月二十四 扫尘
“腊月二十四，掸尘扫房子” ，据《吕氏春秋》记载，我国在尧舜时代就有春节扫尘的风俗。按民间的说法：因“尘”与“陈”谐音，新春扫尘有“除陈布新”的涵义，其用意是要把一切穷运、晦气统统扫出门。这一*俗寄托着人们破旧立新的愿望和辞旧迎新的祈求。 每逢春节来临，家家户户都要打扫环境，清洗各种器具，拆洗被褥窗帘，洒扫
六闾庭院，掸拂尘垢蛛网，疏浚明渠暗沟。到处洋溢着欢欢喜喜搞卫生、干干净净迎新春的欢乐气氛。
3、腊月二十五 接玉皇
旧俗认为灶神上天后，天帝玉皇于农历十二月二十五日亲自下界,查察人间善恶，并定来年祸福，所以家家祭之以祈福，称为“接玉皇”。这一天起居、言语都要谨慎，争取好表现，以博取玉皇欢心，降福来年。
4、腊月二十七、二十八 洗浴
传统民俗中在这两天要集中地洗澡、洗衣，除去一年的晦气，准备迎接来年的新春，京城有"二十七洗疚疾，二十八洗邋遢"的谚语。腊月二十六洗浴为“洗福禄”。
5、腊月三十除夕 贴门神、贴春联、守岁、爆竹、吃年夜饭、给压岁钱、祭祖
除夕的意思是“月穷岁尽”，人们都要除旧部新，有旧岁至此而除，来年另换新岁的意思，是农历全年最后的一个晚上。故此期间的活动都围绕着除旧部新，消灾祈福为中心。
春联、贴福字、贴窗花、贴年画、贴挂千。这些都具有祈福、装点居所的民俗功能。反映了人民大众的风俗和信仰，寄托着人们对未来的希望。
守岁，我国民间在除夕有守岁的*惯，俗名“熬年”。守岁从吃年夜饭开始，这顿年夜饭要慢慢地吃，从掌灯时分入*，有的人家一直要吃到深夜。守岁的*俗，既有对如水逝去的岁月含惜别留恋之情，又有
对来临的新年寄以美好希望之意。
爆竹，中国民间有“开门爆竹”一说。即在新的一年到来之际，家家户户开门的第一件事就是燃放爆竹，以哔哔叭叭的爆竹声除旧迎新。爆竹是中国特产，其起源很早，至今已有两千多年的历史。放爆竹可以创造出喜庆热闹的气氛，是节日的一种娱乐活动，可以给人们带来欢愉和吉利。王安石的《元日》诗：
爆竹声中一岁除，
春风送暖人屠苏。
千门万户曈曈日。
总把新桃换旧符。
描绘了我国人民欢度春节盛大的喜庆情景。
在古代的农业社会里，大约自腊月初八以后，家庭主妇们就要忙着张罗过年的.食品了。因为腌制腊味所需的时间较长，所以必须尽早准备，蒸年糕，年糕因为谐音“年高”，再加上有着变化多端的口味，几乎成了家家必备的应景食品。年糕的式样有方块状的黄、白年糕，象征着黄金、白银，寄寓新年发财的意思。年糕的口味因地而异。
饺子，北方年夜饭有吃饺子的传统，但各地吃饺子的*俗亦不相同，有的地方除夕之夜吃饺子，有的地方初一吃饺子，吃饺子是表达人们辞旧迎新之际祈福求吉愿望的特有方式。饺子就意味着更岁交子，过春节吃饺子被认为是大吉大利。另外饺子形状像元宝，包饺子意味着包住福运，吃饺子象征生活富裕。
吃年夜饭，也叫团圆夜，离家在外的游子都要不远千里万里赶回家来
是春节家家户户最热闹愉快的时候。大年夜．丰盛的年菜摆满一桌，围坐桌旁，共吃团圆饭，心头的充实感真是难以言喻。
给压岁钱，压岁钱是由长辈发给晚辈的，有的家里是吃完年夜饭后，人人坐在桌旁不许走，等大家都吃完了，由长辈发给晚辈，并勉励儿孙在在新的一年里学*长进，好好做人。
6、正月初一 拜年
春节早晨，开门大吉，先放爆竹，叫做“开门炮仗”。爆竹声后，碎红满地，灿若云锦，称为“满堂红”。这时满街瑞气，喜气洋洋。 春节里的一项重要活动，是到新朋好友家和邻那里祝贺新春，旧称拜年。新年的初一，人们都早早起来，穿上最漂亮的衣服，打扮得整整齐齐，出门去走亲访友，相互拜年，恭祝来年大吉大利。拜年的方式多种多样，有的是同族长带领若干人挨家挨户地拜年；有的是同事相邀几个人去拜年；也有大家聚在一起相互祝贺，称为“团拜”。由于登门拜年费时费力，后来一些上层人物和士大夫便使用各贴相互投贺，由此发展出来后来的“贺年片”。春节拜年时，晚辈要先给长辈拜年，祝长辈人长寿安康，长辈可将事先准备好的压岁钱分给晚辈，据说压岁钱可以压住邪祟，因为“岁”与“祟”谐音，晚辈得到压岁钱就可以**安安度过一岁。
7、舞龙
舞龙，又名「耍龙灯」、「龙灯舞」，是汉民族传统的舞蹈形式之一。每逢喜庆节日，各地都有舞龙的*俗。
舞龙起源于汉代，经历代而不衰。舞龙最初是作为祭祀祖先、祈求甘

大家下午好!我叫**，原来在**小学工作，*几年来一直从事小学英语的教学，今年因工作调动，调整到我们**小学工作，我感到非常的高兴，同时，也非常感谢我们学校领导能给我这样一次展示自我、成就自我的机会。我今天我竞聘的岗位是三、四年级的英语教学。
首先我说一下自己的基本情况和工作业绩：我**年毕业于**师专数学系，后分配到**中学从事数学教学，**年开始改教初中英语，**年因身体状况，调入小学从事小学英语教学至今，**年自考大学本科毕业，**年被评为中学一级教师。
自工作以来，我一直兢兢业业，勤奋工作，所教科目成绩一直据全镇前列，特别是*几年来从事小学英语教学，所教班级多次获得全镇第一名，个人也多次被评为镇教育先进工作者、优秀教师，区优秀教师，个人年考核优秀等次的荣誉称号，并有多篇论文在市级报纸发表。
下面我谈一下，我竞聘英语教师的几个优势和条件：
1. 有良好的师德
我为人处事的原则是：老老实实做人，认认真真工作，开开心心生活。自己一贯注重个人品德素质的培养，努力做到尊重领导，团结同志，工作负责，办事公道，不计较个人得失，对工作对同志有公心，爱心，*常心和宽容心。自从参加工作以来，我首先在师德上严格要求自己，要做一个合格的人民教师!认真学*和领会上级教育主管部门的文件精神，与时俱进，爱岗敬业，为人师表，热爱学生，尊重学生，争取让每个学生都能享受到最好的教育，都能有不同程度的发

我从**师专数学系毕业后曾到**师范大学进修英语教学培训，系统而又牢固地掌握了英语教学的'专业知识。多年来始终在教学第一线致力于小学英语教学及研究，使自己的专业知识得到进一步充实、更新和扩展。
3. 有较强的教学能力
从选择教师这门职业的第一天起，我最大的心愿就是做一名受学生欢迎的好老师，为了这个心愿，我一直在不懈努力着。要求自己做到牢固掌握本学科的基本理论知识。
熟悉相关学科的文化知识，不断更新知识结构，精通业务，精心施教，把握好教学的难点重点，认真探索教学规律，钻研教学艺术，努力形成自己的教学特色。我的教学风格和教学效果普遍受到学生的认可和欢迎。

做一个富有爱心的老师
“不爱学生就教不好学生”，“爱学生就要爱每一个学生”。作为一名教师，要无私地奉献爱，处处播洒爱，使我的学生在爱的激励下，增强自信，勇于创新，不断进取，成长为撑起祖国一片蓝天的栋梁。 用质朴的心爱护学生，用诚挚的情感染学生，用精湛的教学艺术熏陶学生，用忘我的工作态度影响学生。

一、注重教学过程管理，强调先进教学方法和理念的实施。
如何充分发挥小学英语在实现教育目标中的功能，从而体现小学英语在整个课程中的地位和作用，是小学英语教学必须重视的问题。英语学*的启蒙阶段是非常重要的，教学的成功与否将对学生的终身学*产生深远影响。小学开设英语课程的目的在于培养学生学*英语的积极情感，形成初步的英语语感，打好语音、语调的基础，具备用所学英语进行交流的初级能力。通过英语课程的学*，丰富社会生活经历、开拓视野、树立学*的自信心。为此在实际教学中我们要求广大教师积极实践和探索，在教学目标、课程实施、教学方法、教学评价等方面做到层层推进。在实践过程中应该明确以下几点：

各位家长下午好：
很高兴能有这样一个机会，能和大家进行面对面的交流。我是二年1、6、7、8、10班的英语任课教师，我姓赵。下面我就我们英语学*方面说我一些真实的感言：
在英语课堂上，大部分学生都能很活跃的回答老师提出的问题，积极跟着老师拼读单词，朗读课文。其实这也制造了一种假象，学生认为自己常常被老师提问，认为自己能够回答老师的问题，于是认为自己的英语学得很不错，自我感觉特别好。于是下课后在英语上花的时间就少了。其实要学好英语，课上占40%，其余的60%还需要学生在课后不断的巩固，加深记忆。在课上老师更多的是教授新知识，当然课上也会有少量的时间巩固新学的知识。但是这些时间是公共的时间，而不是每个学生私有的时间，所以不可能照顾到每个学生，不可能让所有学生都达到相同的程度。况且每个学生对新知识得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能当堂就已经有很深的印象，很难忘记，但这肯定是很少的。大部分学生都只能是初步接触了新知识，要真正接受新知识还要学生在课后多下功夫，不然肯定会和别的同学拉下差距。
那么在课后学生到底该怎么做才能把其余的60%补回来呢？英语毕竟不是我们自己的语言，大多数学生除了英语课其余时间根本就不会想到要说英语，所以，在课后一定要主动抽时间为自己补*英语。学好英语，不外乎就是在听，说，读，写这些方面下功夫。
首先说一下听，每个学生都有和书相配套的磁带，可是请各位家长检查一下自己的子女的英语磁带，有多少学生的磁带还是和刚发的时候一样的，根本就没有听过。不要说另外买什么英语听力磁带或者英语学*的碟片了，连自己手头的`磁带都不去听，光靠上课听一点点的磁带，学生的听力根本就不能有什么发展。不会听就不能说，而说白了，学了英语就是要说，那不是白学了么？我每天叫学生回家要跟录音机读二十分钟的英语，可是有多少学生真地做到了呢？听录音机跟读，不是鹦鹉学舌，听见什么就跟着说什么。所读的知识已经学过了，跟录音机读应该是提高自己的听力和口语表达能力，要学生尽力地去模仿录音机里的发音，从而使自己的听力和口语都提高一个层次。
接下来是说，英语是一门语言，学了就是要说，要和别人交流。我们学的英语不应该是哑巴英语，要让每个学生学会勇敢地说出来。在课上我会用各种方法来刺激学生，激发他们说英语的积极性，大多数学生也确实做得很好。可是班级里人多，对每个人来说，说的机会就少。所以下课也要说；放学回家也要说。在学校，我鼓励学生把所学的英语对话运用到生活中去，这样有更真实的情景，更能让学生有发挥的余地。在家里，希望家长也能鼓励学生说英语，也许你会说你自己也听不懂，请不要这样想，其实学生需要是你的鼓励，你听了他们说的只要简单表扬一句，他们就会很满足了。有时候你们也可以不懂装懂，或者还可以让学生反过来教你，他们会觉得很自豪，因为自己所学得派上了用场。
接下来是读。有句话：“读书破万卷，下笔如有神。”学英语也是这样，很多家长也明白，学英语要培养语感，也就是语言的感觉，如果有很好的语感，那么不管是说话，做题目，还是写文章，都很轻松，很简单了。那么语感怎么来呢？就是靠读出来的。一定要让学生养成每天读英语的*惯，这是学英语的最基本的学**惯了。我刚开始学英语的时候就是这样的，每天早上一定要读20分钟左右的英语，哪怕有时候时间来不及了，即使是迟到也要读，并且每天都坚持，绝不因任何原因间断。无论什么事情都贵在坚持嘛。如果你的子女还没有养成这样的学**惯，请你一定要督促他，刚开始也许会比较难，时间久了，就会*惯成自然。就像早上起来要刷牙洗脸一样，要让他们把读英语当作每天必做的一件事。
最后是写。二年级英语已经对学生有一定的书写要求。首先是单词，单词是句子，段落，课文的最基本组成单位。背单词是学英语的必经之路。单词往往背过就容易会忘记，所以要不断的背，不断的翻新，这是没有办法的。我要求学生在背单词的时候要边拼边写，嘴巴和手都要动起来，嘴上十遍不如手上一遍。还有句型，二年级所接触的巨型都是很简单的日常用语。学生应该在课上领会句型的意思和运用方法。可后还需要通过多读课文，多练*才能巩固所学的句型。所以请各位家长不光要注重孩子背单词的情况，还要让他重视句子的重要性。
总而言之，请各位家长多关注孩子们的英语学*，让孩子养成良好的英语学**惯。家长的重视会让学生增加信心，提高学生的学*积极性。与其在期末时看到大家都不愿看到的不理想的分数，还不如在*时就多关心孩子学*的过程。不是要说注重过程嘛。还希望家校携手共同提高孩子们的英语学*水*。我要讲的就是这些，谢谢！

熟悉相关学科的文化知识，不断更新知识结构，精通业务，精心施教，把握好教学的难点重点，认真探索教学规律，钻研教学艺术，努力形成自己的教学特色。我的教学风格和教学效果普遍受到学生的认可和欢迎。
以上所述情况，是我竞聘英语教师的优势条件，假如我有幸竞聘上岗，这些优势条件将有助于我更好的开展英语教学工作。
如果我有幸竞聘成功，能担任三四年级英语教师的话，我将从以下方面开展工作。

怎样帮助孩子学好英语呢?我们老师自然是最直接的知识传授者，有着不可推卸的责任。在此，我们只是真诚地呼吁我们的家长配合学校，配合老师，靠我们共同的努力来帮助孩子学好英语。用一句时髦的话说：我们要和孩子共同成长。
一、重视孩子非智力因素的培养
心理学家研究表明，在人们的学*和事业成功的道路上，非智力因素往往起着更大的作用。因此，我们要让孩子具有良好的心理素质和个性品质，来促进孩子的学*。经常有这样的现象：有的学生智力**，但是他靠自己的勤奋和毅力取得了优异的成绩;也有的学生头脑灵活，思维敏捷，但是学*上缺乏应有的*惯，三天打鱼，两天晒网，最终收获甚微。可见，兴趣、情感和毅力等非智力因素在学生的学*中起着更为重要的作用。我们家长要认识到这一点，就没有必要去埋怨孩子笨，也没有必要为自己孩子的智商高而沾沾自喜。你要了解自己孩子的*性，在日常生活中多关心一下他的学*情况，特别是他学*上困难和烦恼，多鼓励他，多督促他，多帮助他，让他感觉到学*英语是很重要的，有那么多人在关注着他，从而增强他的学*责任感，并把这种意识转化为学*的兴趣和动力，促使他一步一步的向前，等他有了进步，尝到了成功的喜悦，那时他的学*自觉性就会大大提高了。一句话，不管是哪一类的学生，说到学*，就离不开一个“勤”字。
二、重视良好的学**惯的培养
*惯的力量是一种巨大而持久的力量，许多重要的事情正是靠*惯的力量去完成的。联合国教科文组织在“学会生存”一书中指出：在未来社会里，文盲将不是不识字的人，而是那些不懂得学*方法、不会自行更新知识的人，家长希望自己的子女在未来的社会中长大成才，不可不注意对他们进行学*方法的指导，和学**惯的养成。
(1)让孩子多听录音
在少儿英语教学中，首先是加强听力训练和说话训练，然后才是读写能力的培养。听说能力差，用英语进行交际的`能力差，是以往英语教学中的问题所在，是现代儿童英语教学中要全力改进的。为此，家长一定要配合学校来要求孩子，要创造条件让孩子多听，多听纯正的录音，*惯听原声带，注意听正确的语音、语调和语气，听几遍、听清楚了以后，跟着说，这样做，可以弥补一些因我们英语老师语音不够纯正的不足。多听、多说可以让孩子尽快达到“脱口而出”、“出口成句”，哪怕是一两个词代表的句子，因为句子是语言的最小单位。再有，如汉语中有“四声”的特点一样，英语中有长音、短音和双元音等不同于汉语的发音要求，要注意学和正确发好，否则谈不上学到地道的英语。
(2)让孩子大声说英语
家长要每天留出15分钟左右时间让孩子读读英语，不管当天有无英语课。我们要鼓励孩子大声地朗读、对话、问答，大声说，不害羞，这样有利于清楚地表达自己，也有利于他人纠正自己的错误，还有利于培养大胆、开朗、自信的良好个性。
(3)让孩子熟练背诵课文和单词背诵是一项基本功，可以积累一些日常用语，等到用的时候就可以脱口而出。但是在背诵过程中要讲究方法，不可操之过急，要注意分散和集中相结合。我们一般一单元要花两个星期时间来教，第一个星期重点背诵单词，按教学进度熟读所教课文;第二个星期重点背诵课文，可以分段背诵，等快教完的时候，再把课文串起来背，这样可以降低一点难度，让学生背得轻松些。但是在检查过程中，我们发现有一部分学生背得相当熟练，可问他课文中的某个词组或句子的意思时，他却一问三不知。所以，我们在背诵过程中要注意上下文的理解，在理解的基础上达到背诵的要求，课文中涉及到的相关词组和句型，要让学生熟记，并能用它们来造句、说话。
单词亦是如此，分散记忆、根据读音记忆单词都是可取的方法。有时，我们回家作业布置抄写单词，其目的不在于抄，而在于提醒学生记忆这些单词。一般，每次的单词量为5个左右，方便学生记忆。但是在日常学*中，学生不重视这项作业，认为只是抄抄而已，不做也没什么关系，其实他连抄写都不做，根本别说是去背了，结果几次下来，他负债累累，应付不过来，学*处于被动状态，从而影响了以后的学*，出现退步现象。因此，请大家在家里督促孩子保质保量地完成英语作业，该读的读、该说的说、该写的写、该记的记，及时巩固，养成良好的*惯。
三、创造良好的家庭环境
(1)良好的物质条件
这一点是不难做到的。即：让还孩子有自己的学*场所，没有单独房间的，要给他隔出一个“学*角”，放有书架、录音机等用具。
(2)营造良好的学*气氛
这比良好的物质条件还要重要，直接影响孩子的情感智商的发展。主要包括这几个方面：首先，营造融洽的家庭关系，让孩子有安全感，能安心学*。其次，鼓励孩子勤学好问，提倡大家互相学*。遇到不懂的、不会的问题，亲子一道查字典、翻阅资料，这样做，不仅会提高家长的威信，提高孩子学*的积极性，还会增加家庭中的许多乐趣。再次，父母亲的良好榜样。孩子一般还没有明确的学*目的，这时，父母亲对学*的态度，特别是行为，会极大地影响孩子。

The title of my speech today is “The Doors that Are Open to Us ”.
The other day my aunt paid me a visit. She was overjoyed. “I got the highest mark in the mid-term examination!” she said. Don't be surprised! My aunt is indeed a student; to be exact, a college student at the age of 45.
Last year, she put aside her private business and signed up for a one-year, full-time management course in a college. “This was the wisest decision I have ever made,” she said proudly like a teenage girl. To her, college is always a right place to pick up new ideas, and new ideas always make her feel young.
“Compared with the late 70s,” she says, “now college students have many doors.” My aunt cannot help but recall her first college experience in 1978 when college doors began to be re-opened after the Cultural Revolution. She was assigned to study engineering despite her desire to study Chinese literature, and a few years later, the government sent her to work in a TV factory.
I was shocked when she first told me how she (had) had no choice in her major and job. Look at us today! So many doors are open to us! I believe there have never been such abundant opportunities for self-development as we have today. And my aunt told me that we should reach our goals by grasping all these opportunities.
The first door I see is the opportunity to study different kinds of subjects that interest us. My aunt said she was happy to study management, but she was also happy that she could attend lectures on ancient Chinese poetry and on Shakespearean drama. As for myself, I am an English major, but I may also go to lectures on history. To me, if college education in the past emphasized specialization, now, it emphasizes free and well-rounded development of each individual. So all the fine achievements of human civilization are open to us.
The second door is the door to the outside world. Learning goes beyond classrooms and national boundaries. My aunt remembers her previous college days as monotonous and even calls her generation “frogs in a well.” But today, as the world becomes a global village, it is important that our neighbors and we be open-minded to learn with and from each other. I have many fellow international classmates, and I am ap***ing to an exchange program with a university abroad. As for my aunt, she is planning to get an MBA degree in the United Kingdom where her daughter, my cousin, is now doing her master's degree in biochemistry. We are now taking the opportunity to study overseas, and when we come back, we'll put to use what we have learnt abroad.
The third door is the door to lifelong learning. As new ideas appear all the time, we always need to acquire new knowledge, regardless of our age. Naturally, my aunt herself is the best example. Many of my aunt's contemporaries say that she is amazingly up-to-date for a middle-aged woman. She sim*** responds,“Age doesn't matter. What *** is your attitude. The doors open to us also pose challenges. For instance, we are faced with the challenge of a balanced learning, the challenge of preserving our fine tradition while learning from the West, and the challenge of learning continuously while carrying heavy responsibilities to our work and family. So, each door is a test of our courage, ability and judgment, but with the support of my teachers, parents, friends and my aunt, I believe I can meet the challenge head on. When I reach my aunt's age, I can be proud to say that I have walked through dozens of doors and will, in the remainder of my life, walk through many more. Possibly I will go back to college, too.

Whether there's afterlife, the answer has never been the same. The atheists deny after life, believing that our life is no more than from the cradle to the grave. They may care about their illustrious names after death; they may feel attached to the affection of their offspring, but they never lay their hopes on their afterlife. They may also say that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil, but they don't really believe any retribution in their after life.
However, in the religious world or among the superstitious people, the belief in afterlife is very popular. They do not only believe in afterlife, but thousands of reincarnations as well. In the mysterious world, there are the paradise and the hell, the celestial beings and the gods, the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas.
Maybe they really believed it, or maybe they just wanted to make use of people's veneration, the ancient emperors always declared that they were the real dragons, the sons of God, while the royal ministers claimed to be the reincarnations of various constellations. But can the stars reincarnate?
Many people burn incense and kowtow, do good deeds and strive for virtues, not just for the present, but mainly to let God see their sincerity so as to be reborn into a better afterlife, or to achieve the highest enlightenment after several lives of practice. They do believe in afterlife. But I can't help asking: Suppose there were no afterlife, would you still do good deeds and strive for virtues? And If God does not see what you are doing, would you still be so upright and selfless? If you work, not for serving the public and liberating the others, but just for a better afterlife of your own, isn't it a little too selfish? Comparing with this kind of believers, those who don't believe in afterlife, but still keep doing good deeds, are the most sincere and honest philanthropists, because they do them not for themselves but for other.
You may wonder if I believe in afterlife. My answer is: I know nothing about my previous life, so I dare not make improper comments on afterlife. But I do hope there's afterlife! Because our present life is so short that so many things slip away before our proper understanding. I have so many dreams, so many wishes, so many ambitions, as well as so many regrets and concerns. If there were no afterlife, all of them will remain unrealized!
I'm not contented with the present commonplace life, I'm very much attached to the affections that should have been mine but have been washed away by the hurrying time, and I yearn for the perfection and maturity if I could start all over again. So believe it or not, I'd rather there were afterlife.
some say growing up in rich family promotes children's personality and character. some think otherwise. what's your opinion? why?
well, it's quite a question argued by people all the time. i think a person's personality has little relation to his family economic level. it's commonly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. however, if the kid himself isn't aware of this, that is all in vain. it's not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education. then, how about the poor family's children? there is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. to be honest, i disagree with it too. poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves. however, the reality is often not like that. subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus can't study well. even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. that will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. therefore, i think children's personality have little relation to their family situation.
I have been in University for about one year. During my stay here, I came to realize that university life is like drinking coke. We experience all tastes of life here, sour, sweet, bitter and hot.
I am from Province, which is far away from here. I often miss my Mum, friends, and relatives in my hometown. However, I can't see them very often. So loneliness always keeps me company. I am sad that I can't be there with them.
Lucky for me, life in university is rich and colorful. With more free time,we can do many more things besides study, such as joining societies clubs, and taking part-time jobs. Over the past Spring Festival, I got involved in a family dispute. Right before I got home, four satellite channels of CCTV were added to the 14 channels we had already had. The emergence of choices marks the beginning of a new era in China's history; an era of diversity, of material and cultural richness, and an era of the rebirth of the Chinese nation.
We enjoy the abundance of choice. But this has not come easily.
About 150 years ago, China was forced to open up its door by Western canons and gunboats. It has been through the struggle and sacrifice of generations that we finally have gained the opportunity to choose for ourselves. The policy of reform and openness is the choice that has made all the difference.
Like others of my age, I'm too young to have experienced the time when the Chinese people had no right to choose. However, as the next century draws near, it is time to ask: What does choice really mean to us young people?
Is choice a game that relies on chance or luck? Is choice an empty promise that never materializes? Or is choice a puzzle so difficult that we have to avoid it?
First, I would like to say: To choose means to claim opportunities. I am a third-year English major. An important choice for me, of course, is what to do upon graduation. I can go to graduate school, at home or abroad. I can go to work as a teacher, a translator, a journalist, an editor and a diplomat. Actually, the system of mutual selection has allowed me to approach almost every career opportunity in China.
Indeed, this is not going to be an easy choice. I would love to work in such big cities as Beijing or Shanghai or Shenzhen. I would also love to return to my hometown, which is intimate, though slightly lagging in development. I would love to stay in the coastal area where life is exciting and fast-paced. I would also love to put down roots in central and western China, which is underdeveloped, but holdsgreat potential.
All of these sound good. But they are only possibilities. To those of us who are bewildered at the abundance of opportunities, I would like to say: To choose means to accept challenge.
To us young people, challenge often emerges in the form of competition. In the next century, competition will not only come from other college graduates, but also from people of all ages and of all origins. With increasing international exchanges, we have to face growing competition from the whole outside world. This is calling for a higher level of our personal development.
Fifteen years ago, the knowledge of a foreign language or of computer operation was considered merely an advantage. But today, with wider educational opportunities, this same knowledge has become essential to everyone.
Given this situation, even our smallest choices will require great wisdom and personal determination.
As we gain more initiative in choice making, the consequence of each choice also becomes more important.

Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a census about mountain gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled their babies.
Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Diana Fossey, who spent most of her lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.
To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our eco-environment.
Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur - natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges are devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.
All these appalling facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 20xx the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment.
Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations are receiving donations - big notes, small notes or even coins - from housewives, plumbers, ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids. Some of them cannot afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care. Because they still want their Mother Nature back. Because they know it still belongs to them.
This kind of feeling that I have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it , it's all coming from a scene to be remembered, a scene to recall and to cherish.
The other night, as I saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. I found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to something else, someplace else, a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seemed to have been except the deer.

In my 18 years of life, there have been many things. University days are the best part of them. I can never forget the days when I stepped into my university. I was impressed by its garden'like campus, its enthusiastic students and especially its learning atmosphere. I at once fell in love with it.
After the arduous military training, I get absolutely absorbed in my studies. The classes given by the teachers are excellent. They provide us with information not only from our textbooks but from many other sources as well. They easily arouse my insatiable desire to take in as much as I can.
Frankly speaking, at first I had some difficulty following the teachers. However, through my own efforts and thanks to my teachers' guidance, I made remarkable progress. Now I've benefited a lot from lectures and many other academic reports.
Learning is a long process; I'll keep exploring in the treasure house of knowledge to enrich myself. This summer I got out of the ivory tower and entered the real world. A publishing house offered me a part'time job in compilation and revision.
At the beginning I was belittled by my colleagues. But they were really surprised when I translated seven English articles over 5,000 words on only one day. Gradually, they began to look at me with respectful eyes. In their opinion I turned out to be a useful and trustworthy colleague.
I also realize that only those who bring happiness for others can be truly happy. So I often take part in activities concerning public welfare. I once went to a barren mountain village with my classmates. We taught the kids there who could not afford school. It is easy to describe success in terms of money, fame and reputation. But I believe that success is not external. I believe that success comes from within. My definition of success is to be true to yourself, and be true to others. That means, that you must cherish your personal ideal even in the face of adversity. I also believe that success is not discriminatory. Success is not restricted to such a class of people, in fact, it may be achieved by any person irrespective of his race, creed, gender and economic background. A good example of success is that of Beethoven. He is one of the world's most famous composers, yet he was deaf. He could not hear the majestic pieces of music that he created. Yet, in the face of this adversity, he was able to maintain his ideals''that of composing music.
To exemplify what success means to me, I pose a question to all of you. What brings us together here today? I believe that it is the beauty of the spoken word. The effect of pause and the sound of rhetoric are unique to the spoken word. I believe the beauty of the spoken word is even stronger for those who have difficulty in expressing themselves. These people are reclusive and had their emotions hidden within them. I once went to Australia and I saw two pictures, Once was drawn by a normal child, the other was drawn by a child with social inhibitions. The picture drawn by the normal child was simple and plain. The other was life'like, full of details and imagination. What this shows is that these are ideas, emotions and feelings that are locked internally in these children.

psychologist tell us that stress is a state of worry caused by the problem of living , such as too much work or study , heavy responsibilities , and quickened pace of life .
statistics show that stress comes from every detail in our life . financial problems , poor health , being laid off may be the stress that most adults now suffering . as students in the university , we are also under our special stress . while study , having to take various tests and submit a project against a deadline may put a great pressure on us . and the things make us felt stressed may be our parents’s greater expectations on us than we could reach . later , when we are likely to graduate , some other problems will also annoy us . i think we will worry a lot about our ability to compete in the job market and how we can best use what we’ve learned at college in our future job .
